I have played 40k off and on for over 20 years and dabbled into multiple other GW games. In addition, I have played several other tabletop miniature games. Warcry is the best set of rules I have played, without a doubt GW’s best. It is simplified, but not simple. So much nuance and variation. It has everything I want in a fantasy setting skirmish game
Great video would love to hear the run down on using different fsctions in warcry. Just like a summary of how each army plays. For example Ossiarch Bonereapers or Idoneth Deepkin
As a 40K player with no age of sigmar, I was drawn in by the look and originality of the Warcry warbands. I bought in with Nightmare Quest because I needed terrain and I liked the pyramid best. I ended up really liking both warbands too.
Thanks for sharing! Nightmare Quest was a pretty cool box (and yeah, the pyramid is great). I think the Royal Beastflayers from that set resonate the most with me; gotta love ganging up on fighters and making those ghouls explode with damage :)
For sure, it's the cheapest way to get two warbands on the field, but personally it's not something I would actually recommend to someone who wants to get into the game for the first time; It's true that you technically can have a game vs someone with the minis in that box but for the most part, neither SCE or Kruleboys are massively inspiring IMO (despite how good Vindictors actually are) and both warbands need alot of work to get them up to scratch (Your mileage may vary on the bespoke warband boxes but at least you get a bunch of different fighters to try out). As a product, its the same price as one of the bespoke warband boxed sets so I'd likely go in that direction instead, or go hunter and hunted which, whilst being more expensive, gives a better 'warcry' experience in my opinion.
The warrior box is a nice starter. This video has very useful tips, including how to make some easy DIY terrain from the box itself ua-cam.com/video/TCACf8mop1I/v-deo.html. Plus plenty of advice on how to upgrade these starting warbands, especially on the warcry subreddit
Great video! Is it expected for GW to release a new Warcry box with the Battleplan cards? I'm new to Warcry. I would like to have the phisical copy of the Battleplan cards
I don't know actually. They seem to have largely abandoned the whole big box release thing in favour of the smaller double warband themed boxes so your best bet is probably to trawl ebay unfortunately.
They sure are! You can either go for Tzeentch Arcanites: Mortals with the Khairic Acolytes and Tzaangor or Daemons. Alternatively the other Tzeentch themed warband is the Jade Obelisk. You can find their rules either here: www.warhammer-community.com/warcry-downloads/ or over on warcrier.net Unfortunately Arcanites don't have a specific warband box for themselves but The Jade Obelisk is a self contained one-box warband you can jump straight into.
I wanted to play warcry and I was thinking of buying a warband and the box of terrain Scales or Talaxi. But after that what’s next? I would love to have enough terrain to play but should I wait for another big box or just buy the warband I like plus the terrain?
Scales of Talaxis has everything you need for terrain so you are good there :) after that I'd just go for whatever warband you like and you are good to go!
There is no new season currently planned (that we know of); The Crypt of Blood starter set was only released in July of last year so it's unlikely that the game is moving on anytime soon.

Super good and concise description of all the warbands. Exactly what I needed to choose my first purchases. thanks!
I'm glad you found it useful :)

Great video! Just what I needed, thank you. I’m starting out & just working through my Heart of Ghur terrain.
Been looking at resources for starting Warcry today and yesterday, this video couldn't be better timed 👀👀
*rapidly clears browsing history* Many thanks :) glad I could be of help.
thanks for this video, very helpful
You're welcome!
I think the AOS Warrior box is still the best cheapest way to Warcry, maybe i would have deserve a mention.

Great video. Subbed. Hi, are Tzeentch changelings in Warcry and is there a warbands box to buy/rules. I’m trying to get my son into it. Thanks

@@OffMetaMusings thanks so much for the help. 👍

I couldn't download the PDF for Warcry. It said it was forbidden
That's probably just the new warhammer community website being a bit rubbish; I tried this morning and everything seems to be working now.
Does Warcry have like a new season or changes? Like if I buy into the latest "starter" box, does a new one drop out soon?
There is no new season currently planned (that we know of); The Crypt of Blood starter set was only released in July of last year so it's unlikely that the game is moving on anytime soon.
