This to me was the best moment of the gymnastics part of last year’s Olympics. She’s tried so many times to get a medal, it was wonderful to see her finally succeed. That and Andrade getting Brazil’s first gold.
This routine made me so emotional, and it gave me intense goosebumps, especially with the first 2 stuck landings. I'm so proud of her for never giving up. Congrats queen !
It seems like none of the female gymnasts stick their landings on floor anymore. Her sticking two landings solid was the first thing I noticed. Great routine. And great music too. Love me some Italian opera.
Finally, after so many misses, so close of medal in both 2012 and 2016 finishing in the dreadful fourth place finished on both occasions, I say to myself behind she took the floor, not going to happen again for the third time. I remember I was keeping my fingers cross when she did her floor routine, and it is not over until her score was posted, and knowing that she finally earned a medal, so happy for her finally in perhaps her final Olympics.
@@gabrielfreitas1263 Italy entered the 2020 Olympics as the reigning world team bronze medalist, and she and her teammates were so close of a medal in the team event, losing the bronze medal to team GBR, if they did Vanessa didn't have to worry of not winning an Olympic medal in her career. Paris is about two years away exactly, so maybe we might see her there.
Of course all medalists deserved theis medails, but Vanessa Ferrani undoubtely was on the top of my list when it comes to REALLY deserving one. Couldnt be happier with her result.

Execução quase perfeita, parte artística impecável e música lindíssima. Tudo isso tendo 30 anos, em um esporte que pela dificuldade exige pouca idade, mas a experiência dela, nesse momento, disse o contrário. Merecia demais o ouro. Depois da frustração de terminar duas vezes seguidas em 4º lugar, finalmente Vanessa conseguiu a tão merecida medalha olímpica. 💟
I love this so much. This is the routine I will re-watch in 7 years just because I want to. No shade to Jade because she won fair and square according to the rules...but I really think Vany...better encompassed what the event is supposed to mean. In fact, I'd actually put Mai on top because she had the big diverse difficulty and the expressive beautiful dance.
@@DaphneBlumin Nope. She has actual choreography that she commits to and her performance comes from her soul. Jade has amazing tumbling but the dance is less than inspired, uncomplicated, and the performance is lacking any discernible spark.
Murakami and Ferrari have the more interesting routines. I can rewatch them over and over, but Jade won with her difficulty and landings. Like you said, she fit the criteria for gold, but Vanessa and Mai are on a different level artistically.
Comparing her 2006 floor with this, I think this routine has a better execution. Same beautiful silivas with the stuck landing. She really had maintained her consistency all this time. She really wanted it this time. A well deserve silver medal.

She chased that medal for 15 years. Very well deserved.
I think everyone should known her journey to Tokyo. Her story will be very helpful and inspirational for young athletes.

I'm an Australian Grandma and this was my absolute favourite medalist of the Games. So well deserved and earned.
I also love that she was 30. Another gymnast showing that you don't have to quit gymnastics when you turn 20.
