Hi Eddie. Great advice about always taking your phone. Four weeks ago, I was taking photos around MamTor and The Great Ridge early one morning, and while heading down from the ridge towards the broken road I slipped on wet grass, dislocating and fracturing my ankle in three places as well as breaking my fibula. Thankfully I had my phone and was able to call an ambulance who used what3words to pinpoint my location. Edale Mountain Rescue Team did a fantastic job of getting me down on a stretcher. I've got a long period of recuperation ahead, but I'm spending the time usefully by working my way through your videos.
It’s super important to, at the very least, make sure people who will worry know where you are in case you can’t use the phone. I wish you a speedy recovery, I’ve been very lucky not to have damaged myself more severely on many of my trips and while I preach safety and pragmatism I’m the worst for following my own advice when I think there may be a cool shot ahead of me, despite the wind, rain, alligators etc…
@@EddieSkelson Thanks Eddie. I'm certainly going to be a lot more wary in future and not take any risks. I actually met you on my first visit to Padley Gorge last October, but I'm ashamed to say that I didn't know who you were at the time. I've been catching up on several years worth of videos since then, so I'll definitely stop you for a chat next time.
Actually you are right Ed that tower is a communications tower, they are built all over Britain. Solid concert bases. the idea was in a nuclear war we could still communicate.
Great vlog Ed, love the images. I have some decent images from a Hen cloud sunset. Sat up there till the sun went down.I'm in Hanley on Thursday about 12. I will pop in and bore you.👍👍
Hi Eddie I'm glad I'm not the only one who forgets the 10s or 2s timer!! Bloody annoying 😊 I've also been caught out getting up on top in the height of summer in the mid-20's with no jacket then having to come down before sunset cause it's so cold. Great advice regarding carrying your phone when out on your own. I also have a battery pack if I know I'm going out for a long time. I've recently stayed over at The Roaches in the van it's fantastic on a weekday evening. So quiet. It's still one of my favourite locations being under an hours drive for me
All the advice is based on experience mate, and it’s not always a good experience that produces good advice! The Roaches are a wonderful area. I think the only thing it’s missing is a decent waterfall, but Three Shires Head isn’t too far to cap a day off with that absolute icon.
Good on you for putting that message out there. Some cracking images there, I was not expecting a mention of Vasquez Rocks in a landscape photography vlog, if I could I’d hit like twice I would. 🖖
My piece of shitcam is a Canon G1X. I bought it years ago thinking it'll be handy because it has a hotshoe for the speedlite. To this day I've never fitted the speedlite to it.

Trekkies… :)
Best in B&W, gets rid of the green problem at this time of year.
Definitely one of the weapons against awfulness in a Landscape Photographers arsenal
I’m jelly. Got to visit soon or get you over here to Arizona once the 100-120 degree days are over for some desert content :)
The 120 degree deserts can kiss my pole.
10:55 Great shot Ed
Cheers Paul!

Speedlites are Satan’s work.
You earned the instant Sub at "Top tier wankery" 🤣.
Lol. Thank you.
Was that tonight Tuesday 18th June? I was sitting on the other end of the ridge above Valkyrie etc ,
Monday! I saw a break in the weather and went for it.
The link to what happened to Dr Mosely and you last time out was real, could have gone seriously wrong.
Yup. No excuses from me and lesson learned.
An Average Tubby Guy - sounds like a good name for a Channel?
I’ve copyrighted it. Don’t even try it.
@@EddieSkelson Not much use to me at 11 stone - it's all yours, keep it well fed.
We have an accord. 😊

Oui, je parle un peu français. Je pense qu'il est important de gémir dans plus d'une langue.
