- Laura and Larry met in a bar in Manhattan on St. Patrick's day, they married a few weeks before Christmas later that same year. Laura's public image created by her record company was a fresh new artist onto the music scene, younger than her actual age, and unmarried.
"I Wish We Could Be Alone" is Laura's way of expressing her feelings of hiding her marriage from the public eye, or shifting the details to fit with the image she was being portrayed as.

I grew up to Laura's music. So sad she's gone. 😢! I just read on the internet tonight 11-27-2023 that she passed. I was listening to her music tonight and I thought I would google Laura. What a surprise to find out she's been gone so long. What a legacy of music she left us. Sweet dreams beautiful Laura Branigan. 😢!

Her voice is outstanding... no one ever sounded like her.... Sad that she lost her husband and then her own life at 52... SAD.
