$111 and it runs Linux (JELOS) That is VERY good. Far more open than Android and hopefully in a few years these retro budget handhelds might also be able to run early-mid 90's retro PC games as well. - Controller software like Handheld Companion, run SCUMMV, Wine etc. support for JELOS would be needed. But there would be no denying the value these retro handhelds would be able to packing. Chuck in a huge microSD - run PS1, Dreamcast, N64 alongside PC Doom, Wolfenstein, Diablo, Fallout 1, Monkey Island, Xcom
They gave it a 4,000mAh Li-Polymer battery , with claims its a 6+ hours device ... usage is 800 mA ~ 1300mA depending on the emu (medium backlit brightness , low is bleh)... 2d 800mA is real 5h , 3d 1300mA 3h if you lucky ... and the battery bleed is 1mA (when the device is off) , giving this device at 100% charge , a self discharge of 4000h ,or 165\167 days till the battery looses charge...
I've been waiting for the Switch 2 to come out so I can hack my original Switch into an emulation device. As I love playing 2D games in handheld. Plus you can watch TV while playing as well.
@@Vulpas Nah. If I'm going to spend another $300+, I'm going to wait for the Switch 2. As I don't need 3 devices, and really wouldn't spend the money on a Steam Deck. If it were $100, sure.
John, good to see you. I was watching you when you first started out. I was like look at this young guy. I’m a little bit older. I wear the baseball hat to keep it real.
Hey man, big fan of your channel. I was just curious if you could recommend a solid handheld unit with loads of great emulation and games pre-installed. Something more of a gift for someone not super tech savy. Mostly retro games like 8bit or 16bit.
But bro you're trying out simple old systems/games why not Saturn, PSP, Dreamcast or N64? Games that push the system? So the system is O.K. for older systems. Anyway good review and cool video John!👉😃👈
Bought one direct from odroid in Korea for a special celebration price 75€ couple of weeks ago. Flashed it with Jelos and it runs Dreamcast, N64 and PSP. With right bios and settings all ok. Think everything that runs on N2 or the plus model, runs also on the OGU. Waiting for the Batocera Version which is not out yet.
Hey John , solid review , , , would've been helpful to see some PS ONE games like Resident Evil-3 and even Tekken-3 , , ,to see how well it processes , ,maybe some N64 WarGods , SW-shadows of the empire , Donkey Kong 64 , and ZELDA ocarina of time, , , , so we could range weather the CPU has the capacity, , , , keep rocking John 👍👽👍
thanks for these. Now i don't have the arg to hack the gamestop consoles. So dumb to do. Why the protection so much. Meh Guess they do it to get the consoles money. ARG>>>>
yeah, well I think "affordable" ought to also mean "realistic." For $20 you'll probably only get some monochrome kids toy or those 90's 'Tiger' handhelds.

Dang I don’t think I’ve seen someone ever actually type out O.K. 😂
@@Fettman07 lol it's the old fashioned way!😂
Yeah, not pushing the system is weird, makes it seem weak.

Everything can do PS1.
@@MadJackChurchill1312 not everything runs PS1 smoothly and some have very low game title compatibility 🤔🤔🦆
With the new JELOS upgrade this console practically can run all of N64, Dreamcast, PSP and even some GameCube games very well.

@@AdmiralBison You can get better than that, stuff that can play up to SNES at least, if not PS1.
