Love your setup! I have 3 15" Fi Neos waiting to go into my Avalanche but still working out the logistics. Can you tell me what the heighth and width of that box is? Did you just cut a shorter front baffle to get over the metal midgate lip? How'd you seal the sides to seal off the bed? Killer setup, hopefully I'll have mine running soon!
I basically traced the midgate on a piece of wood ..Put your template up against the seal and mark all around the seal so u can know where to cut the square out for the box to slide threw

I was thinking of getting a large piece of 16 or 18 gauge sheet metal, curve it slightly to match the roof, get it painted, then epoxy it to the roof. Completely cover the hole by about 4" all around. I know some people will weld it in and paint it later.

I really like it...It's similar to the Kenwood which Jvc/Kenwood is the same company..But I caught mine on-sale for like 350.00 but let me tell you..The sound quality increased drastically from the pioneer..The Jvc is very easy to navigate as well..My buddy has the Alpine f509 and he doesn't like it he came from a Pioneer as well..But i definitely have been enjoying the jvc

Are your subs d2 or d1 and what's the final ohm load on the amp? I wanted to do something similar with 3 12's on a 8k but was told that I would need a bigger amp because my subs are 2800 rms each.
@EntityMusicEnt don't have the space inside to mount it..I can fit another 8k on the back of the seat but 20k is to long unless I remove my back seats which I can't do until I buy an extra vehicle for the fam
@@Jswain921 I totally understand that. My car is a sedan and everyone keeps telling me to wall it but I need the back seat for the kids so it's not happening. Plus I like the challenge of getting loud from the trunk... Anybody can slap a bunch of subs in a SUV and get loud.

@@Yolathegreat1970Subs up and port facing rear tends to work well in large suvs where you have lots of extra space. With hatchbacks you may not have enough room to fire a port rearward and have it flow up and into the rear hatch. That might require a smaller box or moving the box forward several inches. With a smaller vehicle it can make more sense to extend the box all the way back. This can give you a bigger box and you loose nothing in output. So both work well. Subs and port facing up just lets you have a bigger box/more air space.
Ideally you'd want D2 subs. Those can be wired to 1.33 ohm which should work well with those amps strapped and wanting a 2 ohm load. With D1 subs you have a 0.67 ohm load. With impedance rise the amps might see 1.5, maybe more. So that that might work with the amps strapped. You might try it and see. It will be pushing the amps really hard. Running a single large amp might be the better option. Its rated for 1 ohm and your wiring of 0.67 ohm will surely rise above 1 ohm.
For me this is an ideal setup if I could build a bass vehicle a Chevy avalanche with three insane 15s on his much power as I can throw at them would be it.

Box is 48w and 20high I believe it's around 38deep..I would have to find my blueprints

How are you handling the sunroof? Are you going to seal it up permanently, weld in a new sheet of steel or maybe epoxy a sheet of steel over it?

All depends what car..Just have to play with it and see what sounds best
With hatchbacks I'd recommended having the subs near the back firing up into the hatch. This creates a horn loading effect that boosts output.

Deaf bonce arnold 2 6.5s and 2 8s in each door in the front on Audiolegion 250.4 at 2ohm per channel...Back doors and tweeters on a 125.4

Charge at about 15.8 cold but once it warms up I'm around maybe 15.5..It loves it and amplifier runs so cool..Haven't had to use my fan..
16.2 might be alitte overkill IMO
