I disliked as soon as I heard that. Breath of the Wild should be in the top 3, or the best. But when he put Shovel Knight at number 1, I had to give a like. That game is so underrated and it's among my top 10 games of all time.
I lost my mom in 2014 as well and yeah it hurts. It was my first semester of my junior year in college. I had taken a year off to figure things out. My mom was my biggest supporter in my continued education. On December 13th just 8 days after my mom's 49th birthday and only 12 days before I was set to be home to see her and the rest of my family for Christmas, my mom lost her 13 year fight with cancer. A fight that went from breast cancer to remission to it's resurgence and spread to her bones and digestive system. She was the strongest person I have ever known. She somehow fought the cancer and gave me, my sister, and step sister a seemingly normal childhood and formative years. She always wanted to be back to work as soon as possible where she taught elementary special education. I may not know your exact pain or the struggles you may have gone through, but I know those were tough times to fight through. I know the pain still makes its way back from time to time, but I'm sure your mother is proud of you for your continued success and the ability to work towards happiness and peace.

It’s CRAZY how fast the industry is evolving. A hell of a decade it’s been. And a hell of another we’ve got to look forward to. Great video. As always.
@@somethingoriginal5911 ah yes a few select games really defines how good the games industry is, lets ignore the other 95% of the manipulating unfinished games released
DLC for post game isn’t a bad thing, I’ll take expansions for games that were great at release (Bloodborne,HZD,etc) loot boxes & pay 2 min mechanics as well as other micro transactions are bad DLC. The only games that really suck these days are either online focused FPS/3PS or games using the “games-as a-service model... It really does matter where you look
If devs ignored XBOXONE (because loves that worthless thing) in their games, and just developed games only for next gen we'll get a really new experience in gaming.
I've got a pretty normal list but whatever 2010: Mass Effect 2 2011: Portal 2 2012: Dishonored 2013: The Last of Us 2014: Dragon Age: Inquisition 2015: Witcher III: Wild Hunt 2016: Overwatch 2017: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2018: God of War 2019: Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
When I lost my dad in 2017, I decided to play the 3 spyro games that are a big part of my childhood, first on ps1 again and then the remaster. It never heals but it gets farther in-between! stay strong mate!
Now that you mention it, I hadn't thought about it before but Shovel Knight got me through some rough times too. There was a time in 2015 when I would get home from work and just crank through a playthrough of the game several times a week, because it was so cathartic - that's something I hadn't done since the PS2 Ratchet games! I've even 100%ed Shovel and Plague Knight on two different consoles, that's how into it I was. Much love, and here's to the next ten years!
Ratchet & Clank is one of the best game series ever. If R&CF: A Crack In Time had released in 2010 and not 2009 I would put it at least #2 on my top 10 games of the decade.
Shovel Knight came into my life when I was dealing with something I never thought I had to deal with. And that's depression. Really I had zero hope of continuing to live and then I played Shovel Knight and it basically saved my life. As well as all the people who I love and care about I met them thanks to Shovel Knight. So really it isn't my favorite game of all time. It's my favorite thing of all time.
Was extremely pleasantly surprised to be honest. I personally didn't like BOTW much at all in comparison to other Zelda games, and it's interesting seeing him put A Link Between Worlds above it.
I appreciate the time you took to make this. Everyone else just researches and picks the games based on what everyone else thinks. You lived and loved through all this and that's what makes your list special
Games of the decade lists should be personal. I don't want to read a list of the best selling games of the last decade. I want to know what you thought were the best and why.
if you got a couple hours to kill, we made a very unconventional list for the 2010s on my let's play channel. The two of us did top threes for every year and then an overall top five. sure, we got some of the popular stuff in there, but often go-against-the-grain picks (Not for the sake of it, more just because we loved the games). anyway, if you're interested: ua-cam.com/video/8BckSgDACrQ/v-deo.html
It is interesting to think of what the most influential games were though... things like dark souls, Skyrim, overwatch, fortnite. Things that changed the landscape of games for better or worse
Just remember, everyone... when life gets you down... when all seems hopeless... you grab that handle, raise it in the air, and proclaim to the heavens... FOR SHOVELRY!
Those thoughts on Shovel Knight at the end... that was me discovering Persona 3 and Persona 5 a couple months later. Games can truly save lives sometimes
@@mistertagomago7974 Nah.. The game keeps it same feel and when you get a new spell or charm You're allowed to do more if you keep adventuring.. Whether it be a minion build, nail build, or spell build.. It also had multiple great endings
@@mistertagomago7974 Controlling the knight is such a joy after all the traversal skills are unlocked that i never mind just covering the map on foot. Just stay away from the extreme buzz saw gauntlet and you'll be fine.
One of my all time favorites. Recently, I got the Dream No more Ending, and after that, I fell in love with this game. I was already in love before, but now it's official. Can't wait for Silksong!
The second I saw Portal 2 on the list, I knew this list was gonna be 🔥🔥🔥. A+ list; I’ve played almost all of the games mentioned and...yeah, I have no complaints!
Love the list buddy hope you have a good year. My list is 10- DMC5 9- NIER Automata 8- God of War 2018 7- Dark souls 6- Hollow Knight 5- Undertale 4- RE7 3- Spec ops: The line 2- Bloodborne 1- The Witcher 3
@@willlowry2288 It is a shame that the twist has been spoiled for you, but I still recommend NIER Automata. Great boss fights, amazing music, and stellar writing. The combat does get repetitive but it is mostly solid.
The thing is many people forget games as time goes on. Remember when most critics said The Last of Us was one of the best games of all time? GTA V was the best GTA ever? I sure do.
@@pseudo.5106 Yeah I'm well aware my friend. I was just making a semi joke/semi praising the game for being a love letter to some of the games that inspired many developers
Jirard: "and if you don't like it you can just leave." Me: Say no mor- Also Jirard: "or you could stay and watch me talk about some cool video games" Also me: "Go on...?"
i myself didn't know that you lost your mom and when you said it it just reminded me of my loss of my dad 2 or 3 months ago and now i have tears in my eyes
I may not have a list right now, but I one of my favorites has got to be Celeste Now, I want to say this to you Thecompletionist! I just found you a couple weeks ago, and I have over 40 videos from you up to this point at least I have delved a little into your experiences of the past in 2014-2015, and I enjoy listening about your experiences. But, of course I don't know it all, but I know that even if you have made mistakes, you have done your best and kept a vision moving. I don't have enough money to be able to consistently support you on patreon, help you out, and give me an opportunity to talk to you like a lot of other viewers. But, I do know you have been keeping my love of video games alive as one of the most genuine youtubers out there (there is always something hindering the genuinity, but it is strong) And, you teach me simple lessons that help me to move forward. I hope to start streaming new games sometime in the future, with you as a great inspiration. If you do not see this, for others reading this, I want you to see the beauty in what Jirard and his crew does, the beauty of what the games, and what it all means. Keep it up! and thank you
+1 for Celeste. Probably my favorite game of the decade. Also +1 for recognizing and expressing feelings instead of ignoring them, and for putting positive messages out there.
My list: Halo Reach (2010) Dark souls (2011) Dishonored (2012) Bioshock infinite (2013) MarioKart 8 (2014) Witcher 3: Wild hunt (2015) Titanfall 2 (2016) Breath of the wild (2017) Spider-man (2018) Sekiro: Shadows die twice (2019) BotW and Wild hunt tie for my favorite
Imo all of those are AAA titles, that half of them do not deserve to be on here... Like Mario Kart is fun, but... Thats just it... Imo a lot of smaller games would deserve to be on here, like Hollow Knight, spelunky 1/2, binding of Isaac... One of my favourite games of all time are civ and Town of Salem, but none of those deserve to be on here imo. People should look at this more objectively, not just what they enjoyed the most... Then the list would be filled with Fortnite, pubg and roblox... I respect your opinion ofc, but do not agree with it myself
Shovel Knight helped me through a dark place too ironically... I was living in a tent underground reeling from the death of my father, sweating opiates and benzos out of my system during a harsh Montana winter. That fucking game gave me the escapism I needed. Deeply. Plague Knight may be my personal fav! Not that anyone asked but top 5 of the decade for me in no specific order: -Persona 5 -Shovel Knight -MGSV (idgaf) -BOTW -The Last Of Us (... I think... feel like I am kind of spacing something out idk)
WOW. I am so happy and at the same time surprised about you putting FFXV on your Top 10. Just recently finished the game again, three years after my first playthrough right after release and I appreciated it so much more than I did the first time. It's easily one of my favorite FF's, just for the reasons you mentioned. Thinking about hopping back in again and at least trying to get close to completion this time. Just because there is someone like you with your gaming experience having enjoyed the game as much as I did. Just feels right.
Here's what I think as far as what I played not necessarily deserving. 2010: Red Dead 2011: Dark Souls 2012: Borderlands 2 2013: GTA 5 2014: Destiny 2015: Rocket League 2016: Civilization 6 2017: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2018: Monster Hunter World 2019: Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
Poop lol GOW4 doesn’t even have that many cutscenes and most of them are fairly short, the game is like 5% cutscenes, someone here hasn’t played the game.
Personally I’d have to say that Nier Automata has to be one of my favourite games of the decade. I’ll never forget how the story and soundtrack absolutely destroyed me emotionally.
Same here. NieR has pushed video games to their next stage with it's narrative. It asks what actually is a video game and what they mean to us, and what the have the capability of doing, not solely as games but as art, yet at the same time it knows it's a video game meant to be fun and engaging. It's just incredible.
In no particular order my list has to be Hellblade Cuphead The last of us God of war Shadow of the colossus remake Spider-Man PS4 Red dead redemption 2 Batman Arkham city Dark souls 3 Mass effect 2
I'm not afraid to admit I kinda teared up at the last game. Such hardships. Thank you Jirard. I love your content, and will be here to watch for a long time.
2010: Fallout: New Vegas 2011: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim 2012: Borderlands 2 2013: Bioshock Infinite 2014: Mario Kart 8 2015: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain 2016: Persona 5 2017: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2018: Red Dead Redemption 2 2019: Fire Emblem: Three Houses
16:56 Jirard says they became fast friends, but it sounds like he said "bast friends" Considering this and the lack of KNIGHT representation leaves me feeling HOLLOW, so I have to give this video, a B+
I lost my mom recently, so I know what you mean. I haven't had the game or anything that has helped me. It's been a struggle. I had two people in my life that treated me human, that believed in me no matter what and that was my mom and my brother and I lost them both. I am looking into therapy because I need help. Hope you stay strong and 2020 is a successful year for you and everyone here.
Great List! Mine is 2010: Super Mario Galaxy 2 2011: Dark Souls 2012: Borderlands 2 2013: The Last of Us 2014: Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze 2015: Bloodborne 2016: Uncharted 4 2017: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild 2018: Celeste 2019: Fire Emblem Three Houses
Nice list pretty similar to mine 2010: Super Mario Galaxy 2 2011: Dark Souls (HM Skyrim) 2012: Honestly Can’t even think of 1 I played. Ig borderlands 2 but I’ve never played it 2013: Fire Emblem awakening (haven’t played last of us) 2014: Bayonetta 2 I haven’t finished it but I already know it’s gonna be a masterpiece just like the first game 2015: Bloodborne (haven’t played Witcher 3) 2016: even tossup between doom overwatch and dark souls 3 if you held me at gunpoint and told me I had to pick one I’d probably pick dark souls 3 because gael and midir and nameless king some of the best bosses ever made. 2017: Breath of the wild 2018: smash bros ultimate (hm: spider man god of war and monster hunter world) 2019: Might be the closest one here but Sekiro over resident evil 2 barely. As you can see 1 I’m very indecisive 2 I love FromSoft and Nintendo 3 I haven’t played some big name games I should probably play soon.
You have done so much in a decade. You are an inspiration, and your work and love for gaming inspires me everyday. I hope someday I can accomplish something like you have. Keep growing and keep putting in that completionist work.
Here's mine: 2010: Red Dead Redemption 2011: LittleBigPlanet 2 2012: Hotline Miami 2013: Grand Theft Auto 5 (The hype was insane) 2014: Mario Kart 8 2015: Metal Gear Solid V 2016: DOOM 2017: Sonic Mania 2018: Red Dead Redemption 2 2019: Devil May Cry V (Resident Evil 2 is very, very close)
I love yours. Mine is kinda close, with some similar games: 10. Red Dead Redemption 1 9. Assassin's Creed 3 (I know, not the best, but I just love it) 8. Uncharted 4 (it was the first uncharted game I played and it blew me away, made me buy the rest of the series) 7. The Edler Scrolls V: Skyrim (it's still being played today even though it was released nearly 10 years ago) 6. Far Cry 3 5. A Way Out (Best co-op game for my friend and I, had an amazing experience) 4. God of War 3. Hotline Miami 2 (IDK why but there was something about it I preffered rather than the first one) 2. GTA V (it was released in 2013 and I already feel nostalgic about those times) 1. Red Dead Redemption 2
2010: Donkey Kong Country Returns 2011: Terraria or Portal 2 (My most played game vs a practically perfect example of game design) 2012: Not a lot for Me. Skullgirls was pretty fun even though fighting games aren't my favorite 2013: Pikmin 3 2014: Shovel Knight 2015: Bloodborne (My #2 for the Decade) 2016: AM2R 2017: Hollow Knight (My #1 of the decade, and all time) 2018: Shadow of the Colossus (PS4) 2019: Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
Xenoblade 1's no.1 for me, but no.2, Hollow Knight is mind-blowingly amazing! I enjoyed every bit of it, exploring new areas, especially Deepnest and The Abyss. But I'm yet to go through the PoP.
Kiyua Hiawog i will never understand how something like hollow knight can be anyone’s favorite game of all time. I mean its good but not amazing. GoW, rdr2, witcher 3, botw, are so much better than anything hollow knight has to offer.
@@TheRealSlimShady509 No offence, bu that's your opinion. SOme might not like those games, who knows? No, Hollow knight isn't my favourite game XD But c'mon it's Hollow Knight has tons of content. I've played it for 100+ hours, but just the main story, it'll take about 60 - 70 hours to get all the endings (if you rush). I can understand Kiyua, because every hour of Hollow Knight is fun, and the fun is tripled when you discover a new area! Just because it's left to right and platforming doesn't mean it hasn't got a lovely world to uncover.
I know what it’s like to lose a loved one. My father died a couple years back, and I still cry about it from time to time. That kind of emotional trauma never fully goes away. The one thing that comforts me is the knowledge that I will see him again someday. I miss him.
May God Have Mercy on his Soul. It is natural for us to miss our loved ones. But knowing that in the future that all the pain will pay off is what makes out stay on this earth bearable. Without a motivation, without hope, life is meaningless. But let the pain of a loved one change you so that after experiencing it all, you can say that you did it. Good luck, and I hope the pain eases as you grow.

@@arshawitoelar7675 They're my favorite category, and of them I especially like the two original kinds, turn based "JRPGs" (which really should be called Novel RPGs, because that's what they are) and old school RPGs where your choices actually matter.
As someone who has been addicted to multiplayer games and missed out on so many good single player games this decade, I cherish those who still stick up for single player games since to many they are "old fashioned" experiences. I have friends that just pirate single player games but buy multiplayer because they are forced to, feels like they were killing the industry. Especially now there is so much focus on microtransacitons and making money from cosmetics, there is so much money to be made from addicted players that companies have been giving up single player to make more money, which is sad but playing online is a harsh drug to come off of and I believe most gamers cannot help themselves. Channels like this help keep single player alive because it shows there is still plenty of reasons to keep buying and playing them, completion, achievements, collectables that you can take your time with and actually enjoy. Instead of video games being an extension of real life which turns them into busy work, rushing through them to catch other people and worse of all skipping story, making people miss exactly what makes these games so beautiful and well crafted.
My personal favorite games of the 2010s. 2010: TelTale’s Back to the Future 2011: Batman Arkham City 2012: Journey 2013: Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance 2014: Super Smash Bros. Wii U & 3Ds 2015: Undertale 2016: Final Fantasy XV 2017: Persona 5 2018: Detroit: Become Human 2019: Devil May Cry 5
2010: Fallout New Vegas 2011: Dark Souls 2012: Dishonored 2013: BioShock Infinite 2014: Shovel Knight 2015: only game from 2015 I've beaten is Arkham Knight and I didn't even like it 2016: Doom 2017: Sonic Mania 2018: Smash Bros Ultimate 2019: Resident Evil 2 Remake
My list using the same rules: 10. *Batman: The Enemy Within* (2018) 9. *Pokémon Sun/Moon* (2016) 8. *Kid Icarus Uprising* (2012) 7. *AI: The Somnium Files* (2019) 6. *Shovel Knight* (2014) 5. *The Last of Us* (2013) 4. *The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword* (2011) 3. *Mass Effect 2* (2010) 2. *Persona 5* (2017) 1. *The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt* (2015) I will say 2011, 2015 and 2017 would easily dominate this list if more than one entry per year was allowed.
Shovel Knight would've been my choice too. Yacht Club gave us Mega Man when not even Capcom wanted to give us Mega Man. With each expansion I kept coming back. Heck, now that Showdown is out I know I'll be coming back to it every once in a while despite the lack of future updates. 4 campaigns, an amazing card game, hundredths of challenges, and a fully fledged arena brawler with unlockables and multiple routes for 15 bucks. Yacht Club, you're insane. Just release some action figures so I can keep giving you my money!
When I was a kid my mom Had cancer, we weren’t sure she was gonna make it but somehow she did. Thinking I might lose her was terrifying enough so I cannot imagine what it feels like to actually lose her. Sorry for your loss brother. It was around this time that I played Chrono Trigger for the first time and was hooked on it, having the power to travel through time and actually change things felt empowering. I still play the game every few years, I understand having that type of connection with a game. It’s beautiful how these things can make such a positive impact in our lives.

Hearing your thoughts and your situation in 2014 reminded me of one I was similarly dealing with around 2015/2016. Things really started in 2015, but 2016 was where it all kicked up to 11. 2016 was a very rough year to say the least, between contracting an eating disorder that seriously affected my school and personal lives and still lives with me to this day, to dealing with a ton of stress and drama resulting in fallouts and leaving me with about 2 core friends to my name, and the upcoming stresses of high school graduation and the start of college months later. I heard about this little indie game that everyone loved called "Undertale" around January of 2016, but I didn't get a chance to play it until around Christmas. And it.....totally broke me. I laughed and cried like an idiot for a long long time. But then I picked myself back up. Undertale, with its writing, appearance, charm and so many other aspects, helped me to truly start the healing process, to accept my mistakes, let go of my anxieties and move on. And so I resonate a lot with your story. Games as a medium truly have the power to shape our lives, and to impact them for the better. Whether its Undertale, or Shovel Knight, or something completely different, games just have the ability to help us recover, and fight, and keep going on. There are so many better ways to put all that, but we all know its true, no matter what. I love you and the show Jirard, I'll probably join the Patreon soon, but ultimately I look forward to seeing more games completed every week, and seeing even more growth. And maybe even the next game to impact you the same way Shovel Knight did.
Noo the original is waaay better even receiving more positive reviews the sequel lost ages just bugs the crud out of me because its world is an open void of nothingness and takes ages to traverse even with the flying boat
Schtor I meant that I didn’t even have an opinion on it or even heard of it. Usually when I hear about an obscure rpg I don’t really look into it much. There have only been a couple of times where I have liked rpgs anyway. Even if I can tell something is amazing I don’t always like it. If you like those games then that’s awesome! I just haven’t heard of those and I don’t like really taking a chance with most games. Sorry if I came off too negative. It’s always nice to see developers that don’t get much recognition to get some.
Online communities can be so poisonous, I’m sorry you had to experience getting doxxed and losing a loved one in the same year. I’m glad you were able to find solace in such a great game.

I wish I could love Final Fantasy 15 as much as you did. As someone that claims Final Fantasy 9 to be my all-time favorite, I just couldn’t get myself to finish this game. I made it through maybe 10 hours before I threw in the towel. It didn’t feel like Final Fantasy to me, and I ended up trading it in. I won’t say your opinion on it is wrong - I just wish I could see it the way you did.
For someone like him that seems to hate open world games this is a real surprising choice, I'm thinking he decided to just invest himself fully in it and let the JRPG animeness take him for a ride. Plus I think he just love Final Fantasy in general.

Ultimate, VERY honorable mention to Celeste, my God that game is sublime 2019: Bloodstained Ritual of the Night Overall, I'd give it to either Smash Ultimate or Celeste. Ultimate is easily the game I've put the most time into this decade, even though it only had a little over a year I've already got over 130 hours in the damn thing. And Celeste is, simply put, one of the most remarkable, memorable, and existential experiences of my entire life. If anybody hasn't played Celeste, I IMPLORE you to seek it out and play it. The only thing wrong with this game is that not everyone in the world has played it yet. Also I wish it had a wide physical release.

Of course you can like whatever you want and dont have to like a game just because everyone does, but those two were so amazing I'm really surprised not to see one of them here and have to completely disagree
@@cristianowey I've played both of them, but I'm a really big dragon quest fan and I was waiting for that game for so long. I'm not really much of a platformer person but botw was close.
That quote is so good, my dude.... "I know there are going to be times when the work outweighs the play or when the hard stuff overwhelms the good, but we just gotta keep digging our way through it, coming out the other side stronger and wiser." Literally my life right now. I started a new job and it's a huge risk for my wife and I, but if it works out we'll be way better off for it. I keep pushing through as hard as I can to get through it because I know I've been through bad times and gotten out before. I used to use the line from Finding Nemo, "Just keep swimming.... just keep swiiiiiming."
My list would include: Persona 5, Undertale, and Kirby Planet Robobot at least. Then some good options for the list after those top ones: Portal 2 Hollow Knight Link between worlds Metroid: Samus Returns Minecraft Breath of the Wild Pokemon Black and White (or B2W2) Pokemon Conquest
Unfortunately, Minecraft came out in 2009, before the decade in question. Hollow knight 300% deserves to be on the list tho. Portal 2 was also a perfect fit.
Jirard, I vibe so hard with your list. I'm so happy that more obscure games like shovel knight and a link between worlds made it to your list. Wish you all the best for this next decade, keep it going!
Valve: Makes great sequels, Also Valve: Doesn't make threequels. Big oof. Edit: Dang, got to the end got massive feels from your 2014 story. Couldn't just not say something after hearing that. Glad you have powered through my friend!
Xenoblade Chronicles has to be my favorite game of the decade, and all time. Never before have I played an RPG so immersive in its world in every aspect.
Not even 2 minutes in the video and I needed to pause to comment... FINALLY someone I watch who did not forget about Portal 2 in their "best games of the decade" list! I know it’s a game from the very beginning of the decade, but how can so many people have forgotten about it? It’s such an amazing game and a sequel that surpassed every expectations people had for it! Thank you for that, man.
It's phenomenal. Beautiful, fun, not too hard but hard challenges (except King Knight, he was easier than the other 3. Like easy mode. And Plague Knight is hard mode) Satisfying. Definitely one of the best games of all time, let alone the decade.
@@bazonga9085 ehhhhhhh While I personally disagree with Shovel Night, it's their opinion, & you're genuinely just being a bitch about it lmao. Fuckin except it.
I the the order of this list goes under-appreciated, I really like how you chose one game from every year of the decade because then there would have been about 3 games from 2017 and some years wouldn't have any game, this list was honestly thought out really well
*no Breath of the Wild.* Aight I’m ‘boutta head out. Jokes aside, awesome list Jirard.👌🏽The 2010s were honestly some of the best moments in gaming history, so I definitely can’t wait to see what the next 10 years have to offer! And this year alone we have Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition, Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX, Animal Crossing New Horizons, Doom Eternal, Cyberpunk 2077, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and Resident Evil 3 Remake. And that’s just from all that we know of so far!
Undertale is my favorite game of the decade and all time. I was going thru multiple surgeries and a lot of pain and everytime I picked up undertale I felt so happy when I beat the game I was so sad but also happy. As soon as credits finished I jumped right back in. I play undertale once a year to remind myself of overcoming difficult situations in life
@Numberce it is pretty overrated. It has its issues but for me personally its one of my favorites for what it does right. Amazing highs but some low lows.
I have so much to think about to make a list like yours. But your list and the heart in making it is evident. Thank you for the years of entertainment, and for many more.
I'm a little sad that persona 5 wasn't even mentioned, but the fact that you showed clips of it and used a song from it as the outro makes me happy. Thanks for a great decade man!
I would definitely have Red Dead Redemption, Skyrim, Borderlands 2, The Last of Us, Breath of the Wild, Undertale, Mario Odyssey, and Persona 5 on my list. That's just off the top of my head, I'm still not sure what order they would be in or what else I would add to finish the list.
The final game added to my list might just be Animal Crossing: New Leaf, I've spent so much time in that game it's insane. Here's hoping that New Horizons will be good enough to make it into my top ten for this decade!
@@mistertagomago7974 Mister, there is something called humor, and this an example, if it is good or bad that's everyone choice. Woah! Shovel Knight?! That’s a difficult agreement anyone can have with you but I understand the sentimental value it has, so I can’t argue. I totally understand the part of losing your mom and having an outlet to sort of latch on to or a shoulder to lean on, if you will… I too lost my mom, but in 2008 when I was 17. While video games were not there for me at the time due to attending military school and eventually joining the army, I did find solace in other personally relieving aspects of life. Activities that have made an enormous impact on myself and friends of mine that I’ve had since then, because I always shared those enlightening experiences with anyone I could, hoping it would have the same affect on them. For instance, I picked up Disc Golf because it was a peaceful hike, playing all 18 holes and an exhilarating sport that gives you plenty of time to reflect on your life and time to think about ways to improve yourself. You always want to push what makes you happy onto others, convinced that it will also solve their issues with whatever they may be seeking relief from at the moment. Therefore, I can totally get behind the reason you chose your favorite game, and for that, I commend you. You didn’t keep it mainstream. You knew people might disagree but you stuck to your guns, or should I say, SHOVEL… Excellent job on this video. It came out really nicely! Looking forward to the next decade of new introductions to awesome games as the years come and go. Keep up the great work!
Great list Jirard! here's to a fantastic 2020! My personal favorite games of the decade would have to be 1. Dark Souls (2011) 2. Last of Us Remastered (2014) 3. Devil May Cry 5 (2019) 4. Elder Scrolls V Skyrim (2011) 5. Kingdom Hearts 2 (2009) 6. Uncharted 4 (2016) 7. Mass Effect 2 (2010) 8. Metal Gear Solid 3 ( 2004) 9. Red Dead Redemption 2 (2018) 10. The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt (2015) It took me a while to decide which ones to put on here because I've played so many but I tried to pick the ones I played from each year although I played the remastered versions those are the dates they came out, I played a lot of remakes in 2019.

The rise of microtransaction
DLC for post game isn’t a bad thing, I’ll take expansions for games that were great at release (Bloodborne,HZD,etc) loot boxes & pay 2 min mechanics as well as other micro transactions are bad DLC. The only games that really suck these days are either online focused FPS/3PS or games using the “games-as a-service model... It really does matter where you look

I've had the game for quite some time but I haven't full gotten into it. Definitely will soon

This was both thoughtful and personal. Sorry for the hard 2019, cheers to a good 2020 and beyond

Something tells me OP likes RPGs...
But seriously tho I also like RPGs and so I quite agree with this list.

Jakob Dueck hey congrats

Putting the lamest FFXV and avoiding the absolutely amazing Persona 5 is a joke...
StephSinalco persona 4 golden is better
That's because it broke him.
I totally forgot about The Walking Dead, that would definitely make the list.
The final game added to my list might just be Animal Crossing: New Leaf, I've spent so much time in that game it's insane. Here's hoping that New Horizons will be good enough to make it into my top ten for this decade!
i just lost my mom a few months ago too.. all love goes out to you and your family rn, it's an indescribable feeling
"Top 10 best Nintendo games of the decade"
Shovel Knight, Portal 2, Resident evil 2, Final Fantasy 15, and Borderlands 2 are Nintendo games?
@@mistertagomago7974 Mister, there is something called humor, and this an example, if it is good or bad that's everyone choice. By the way those games are great, but I think that there is a lot of very good games besides the other 6 Nintendo games. (Sorry if there is some mistakes because my native language is spanish)
@@martinleivacadenas6818 There was 5 Nintendo games which is half. I just saw a lot of others making similar comments and some calling him a Nintendo fanboy. It all just seemed like weird reaction.
@@mistertagomago7974 the funny thing is, he did say it is his list. So what it's borderline Nintendo games. It's his list and honestly, I personally believe Mario is over rated. But that's just me and I'll respect his decision to put three Mario games in his list. The internet, the toxic place in the world.
exactly
Woah! Shovel Knight?! That’s a difficult agreement anyone can have with you but I understand the sentimental value it has, so I can’t argue. I totally understand the part of losing your mom and having an outlet to sort of latch on to or a shoulder to lean on, if you will…
I too lost my mom, but in 2008 when I was 17.
I thought this was about shovel knight
Great list Jirard! here's to a fantastic 2020!
My personal favorite games of the decade would have to be
1. Dark Souls (2011)
2. Last of Us Remastered (2014)
3. Devil May Cry 5 (2019)
4. Elder Scrolls V Skyrim (2011)
5. Kingdom Hearts 2 (2009)
6. Uncharted 4 (2016)
7. Mass Effect 2 (2010)
8. Metal Gear Solid 3 ( 2004)
9. Red Dead Redemption 2 (2018)
10. The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt (2015)
It took me a while to decide which ones to put on here because I've played so many but I tried to pick the ones I played from each year although I played the remastered versions those are the dates they came out, I played a lot of remakes in 2019.
Love how he included FFXV. Even with its many flaws, still an absolutely amazing title at the end of the day
