    Hey thanks,so much for this. I bought fuel filter, oil, oil filter, air filter to service Megane mk3. Wasn't sure about fuel filter, but followed your video and it all worked perfectly, plus reset the service light and did not know the trick to view oil level from the dash. Thank you for sharing good sir, very helpful guide.

    Clear and concise, makes me feel like I can do my own now, just need to make sure I've got the right tools. I wouldn't recommend lying under the car with just a jack for support, good video.

      Honestly those things can fail and the car falls on you. My car once fell to the ground while I was changing the tire

    Good comprehensive video. Looks like a bit of a pain that fuel filter. That’s why I’ll stick with German cars 😉

      Lucian Razec thx ... definitely a lot more work involved comparing with German motors but not too bad really, overall I think the engine bay is so compact therefore creating some challenges to say the least cheers 👍

    Some opinion about this engine ? Any expensive repairs ? Injectors, DMF, Turbo, DPF ? I saw in another video you made over 300k km. I guess you replace oil every 10-15k km ?

    • @CarsExposed
      @CarsExposed  5 років тому +1

      I would recommend it highly mate Awesome car and engine all round... I’ve clocked over 350k km and I never had any issues with the engine itself or gearbox... had to replace a couple sensors and glow plugs tho which in my opinion they are part of service In general anyway, wear and tear...
      I service it every 16k km, oil change and all filters...
      And I replace the gearbox oil every 100k km ...
      thanks mate 👍👍👍

    one question I need to ask:
    my service mechanic filled up my megane 3 (2011) with 5 lt oil full can. does it make any problems? and he said we need to change the oil once in a year (12 months interval) is it true?
    thanks

    • @CarsExposed
      @CarsExposed  5 років тому +1

      Hiya sorry about the delay, oil capacity is 4.5 ltrs for the megane mk3, generally overfilling can cause issues i would suggest for you to check the oil dipstick and make sure is not going over the max level... Manufacture Service intervals are 18.000 miles or 24 months, now my suggestion if you want to look after your vehicle would be every 10.000 miles or 12 months ... 👍👍👍

    Invest in some axle stands. You don't want to be under a car supported only by a jack... on wheels. Helpful video though. Thumbs up.

    North America is way behind with longlife oil changes... when they drive 10k miles or more, they use the wrong oil, end up with engine problems and blame the extended drain / longlife maintenance schedule! LOL

    • @CarsExposed
      @CarsExposed  6 років тому

      Thomas EXOVCDS lol, here in uk service intervals vary from12k to 20k with some German cars having a variable service intervals with some clever sensors monitoring the oil which I believe surpasses the 20k mark, but only works using the right long life oil... ive seen few engine issues lately by people using the wrong and cheap generic oil so it happens here aswell 😜

    Do you ever use axle stands? I prefer not to work under a vehicle that’s just jacked up...Where do the axle stands go on a Megane 3?

    • @CarsExposed
      @CarsExposed  5 років тому +1

      Michael Barnes Axle stands is a must although I’ve been guilty in the past, I normally place axle stands under wishbone back bushing part it’s a solid part connected to the frame 👍

More specific 1598cc, RENAULT, Megane, DYNAMIQUE TOMTOM VVT, 2012 . I do believe daytime lights are in same place as this Megan and that's under the head lights
