I feel so validated for what I felt in Germany. I am Canadian but I'm not white. I met a German and moved to Germany for a little bit. I experienced racism at shops and when I told my boyfriend he didn't get it or even cared. I was so angry, he didn't do anything to stand up for me. We are not together anymore but after 4ys your video provided the validation of what i experienced. I also used to tell / ask him why are they always so angry and negative? they have great transit system and they complained. ALL THE TIME they complained. They never say good morning, i use to go to the same grocery store and saw the same cashier so one day I said guten morgan and she looked at me in disgust and didnt say anything! i was so depressed. I ended up meeting some Americans that helped me have a social life but we just complained about germans. I am so glad our relationship didnt work out. I could never be with someone who was so negative on their daily life.
Sorry about it .true Germans are conservative ,when I went to school I used to sit alone it took a year to get friends i couldn't wait to get back home after school or after my work place to my husband who is a German.i refused to go to the pool or some restaurants because of the negativity I felt .
I can relate to every experience you narratted. You're spot on! People who complain most of the time in a relationship are unconsciously saying " you're not good enough for me". Which will mostly lead to break up. These "complainers " end up been alone in thier Old age. Finally,Interracial relationship in Germany is beautiful but may not survive this complain attitude/culture.
Not Canadian but lived in Canada for 7years, mostly in the hyper friendly east coast. You cannot compare Germany or Europe with Canadian friendliness i.e. greeting etc. Europe us hyper unfriendly especially with non ✋🏻 color folks....real talk Oh & complaining about taxes & transit system & everything is part of the culture too
I saw here on UA-cam numerous clips and comments where foreigner complain about Germany and especially the Germans. And about the german DB which is always late.
Are u back home now? I am from the Philippines, I speak fluent German now after living here for 5y but I still feel so unwelcomed. It's so hard to move, even do your normal grocery shopping can be scary sometimes. The cashier hates me, the Bus driver hates me. 😂😂
You have really studied them. I am married to a wonderful german man and the family is wonderful but because of these act they are criticized by others. Even at time they react badly to my hubby. What I concluded is that they are not happy with themselves so how can they be happy with another person. My happiness is mine and nobody can take it away from you.
I used to live in Germany in 2019 and had a child with a German. I'm a biracial American woman and it was the WORST experience EVER. My ex boyfriend's ex wife took it upon herself to make my life miserable for NO reason. I never met her formally and had nothing to do with her dissolution of the relationship. She weaponized the Jugendamt against me, making false accusations and my ex did nothing to defend me. I almost lost my child and good thing I left home for America. I couldn't defend myself because I was new to the country and did not know the language and everyone was so rude on top of it. I was SO unhappy and still suffering emotionallly from this whole horrid experience.
Hi Ruth, thank you for making this video in English. I have learned a lot from your channel but haven't been able to keep up since I don't speak Swahili. Please make more videos in English too. Thanks.
Well put, they need you but the normal German people do not want foreigners...I am an American person of color who has lived in Germany for 18 years and I can tell you that you need to have a really thick skin here not to let the Germans drive you away! Germans are really not friendly to foreigners even though superficially they may say they need skilled workers the truth is the my collegues are from all over the world, many have doctor titles but are not allowed to work in their field so they end up working as "assistants" under a German collegue which many find absolutely humiliating. Not to mention the salarys are not that great because the prices here are high and the taxes too!
So here is a perspective from a German .. unfortunately there has been a lot of „refugees“ coming to Germany over the last ten years and a lot of them have ZERO intention to work. They will even fly home to their country for vacation but than claim to be in danger. It’s mostly single men from Afghanistan and Syria but also families from Somalia and other African countries. A lot of the women you see have at least four children and often times their husbands don‘t work ..so with four children you will receive 1.000 euro in Kindergeld alone + apartment paid for by the government and extra money to live. Of course Germans will get mad at this fact .. one out of two people receiving unemployment benefits in Germany are Ausländer (foreigners) so this is why most people will assume that you are only here for the benefits and you will get „dirty looks“. Of course there are a lot of exceptions to this like your family. I can understand how hard it is for you .. ❤❤hopefully you and your kids will find more German friends. Germans seem very cold at first but when you actually get to know them they are very loyal friends.
Since you are a proclaimed German, can you show us a well documented statistics on this claim... Most of these migrants and refugees don't want to live here after coming in, but they have to because of the evil and greedy actions of your elites in their countries, waging wars, stealing resources for centuries now, overthrowing and assassinating good leaders who are getting their people out of poverty, you can name them, if they demand for compensation which are trillions of dollars you can't pay them, and don't bring the argument that you were not part of what happened in the past because you are still benefiting from everything that was stolen both human and mineral resources not to talk of the psychological warfare which is still happening today. I don't condone laziness but to use that as a justification for racism and blatant disregard for human dignity is uncalled for.
You can find statistics yourself, no need for others to do work for you. Also - how are Germans responsible for what their elites and elites in those African countries are doing? Who is the racist here?
True but my question is always why do they take refugees they are also doing dirty cartels otherwise they should close down like other European countries but soon they going down with this cos oh my these Arab guys have made germsny lok like another village of illiterate goons😢
Why do people think that grass us greener on the other side? This is what a lot of foreign migrants don't understand! They think money flows and everything is sweet.
I agree with everything you said in this video! Also, as an Indian male with brown skin, I can totally relate to what you said. Thank you very much for this video!
Living in a foreign country can be tough and rough, I've learned this from experience. It's good to understand that people are different, express themselves differently, and their way of showing Joy or love is different from culture to culture. Love your Videos, I travel to Germany once in a while and learning the language. Kenya is developing fast also and a lot of things have changed, including the social bonds. With wealth people tend to drift apart since they don't really need each other and everything becomes a transaction. Failure of the govts in countries like Germany is what is fueling anti immigrant sentiment, but majority of the Germans from my understanding feel they have been misunderstood and are angry at that. Also the ruling class lecturing them all the time. Also most people are becoming poor by day and feel that the govt is giving priorities to foreigners than to their own people, and ofcourse the whole refugee issue. So it's kinda hard living in such a situation as a foreigner. I love your positive attitude, making friends with locals can bridge that gap and once they like you they will come to your defense and assistance.
I was once in the US Army and was stationed in the then West Germany during the Cold war and I found that country to be miserable. Couldn't wait kurudi USA. Huku sija experience hayo umesema na nimekaa huku USA for 45 years.

Truer words have never been spoken.Kudos Ruth. Weiterso👍🏾. It takes guts to be brutally honest. Furthermore,I love that you tend to empower people as well as shed light on some of the issues that still enslave us. There is enough cake for everyone not only in Germany btw,but we still need to put in the work, in terms of Intergration, mindsets, genuine self love e.t.c. Great delivery
I'm Filipina living in Austria. I also feel same exactly what you are saying. I think as long us we immigrants they are treating differently. In short they Crazy. They don't have any appreciation always complaining
East or west home is best. I stayed in Nairobi for about three months, I am planning to visit Kigali next year. Comparing Juba, Kampala and Kigali, Nairobi is top. You can't bring Addis Ababa, Dar Els Salam and Bujumbura to this competition because of language. I will personally relocate from next year to Nairobi. The only challenge with Nairobi is expensive fresh foods. Over 7 years in Germany now. Gen Mathew Kenyi Juba South Sudan.
14:43 yes they force you to speak german. Funny thing is, when they go to the east Europe to work there like Czech, Poland, Russia they are not learning the language, they are spraking max English. Germans are crazy about Spanish and they learn it, because Spain is their holiday direction. My experience. 2nd day at work in germany I have heard from my colleagues at work "You are in germany speak in german" or "I only speak with you in english, cause I need to refresh it".
I like it that despite everything that is going on in Germany you are positive in staying just live your life, enjoy what you have with your family, wenye wana complain wacha wa complain na sisi tukipata chance ya kukuja tuta kuja tu kesi badaye 😅.love you ❤❤❤❤
Adjusting to life in Germany can feel challenging, especially coming from a more socially interactive culture like in many African countries. Germans are often perceived as reserved, valuing privacy and formal interactions over casual friendliness. The language barrier, especially in predominantly German-speaking areas, can make it harder to connect socially. Larger cities are typically more diverse and open, while smaller towns might feel more isolating. However, joining local clubs, attending events, or learning German can help build connections. Relationships may take time to develop but are often deep and meaningful once established.
All immigrants to Germany as soon as you have children living in Germany please write a 'Sorgerechtsverfügung' which specifies a list of relatives and friends, their contact info and relationship to the child who can care for your children in case you are for whatever reason unable to do so. This is because the local German Jugendamts are close with the orphanage industry, a very big industry in Germany, and they look for well-behaved little children in a family wthat is temporarily weak for whatever reason, be that they are immigrants not fluent in German yet and not yet familiar with Verwaltungsrech and dealing with lying bureaucrats, or a family going through a parental separation... I personally know a number of GOOD parents from subsarahan Africa who have endured the longterm theft of their children form Germans. The 'Sorgerechtsverfügung' if done NOW is a like free insurance. Your submit it to a judge by fax if the Jugendamt ever corruptly takes your children.
Negative people are everywhere. Stay positive. If you get infected by this negativity, you're torturing yourself twice. Because not only is your environment negative, but also is your inner self negative. Don't let that happen to you.
They need us but don't want us, my colleagues don't even speak to me or even want to work with me. I tried calling to get a dentist appointment and they said the dentist is sick 😅 😅 i asked for a later date and I was told the dentist will be sick too 😂😂. Just doing my free Ausbildung and move to another country
Attitudes.. even here at home the people's attitude is off.. so negative, people want to leave.. When the crowd sees challenges, the wise see chances to rise."move or stick independently
That Bad Energy can infect you without even knowing it! that's why I had to leave the next morning when I realised I started getting mad at the weather and trains 7:15
I don’t know where to fit myself in your opinion of Germany. Hard work pays off here. Integration in the society as well. Myself I am a teacher and lecturer here. Where I studied? In Nairobi University.. was recognised by the ministry of education here? Yes. Tusome wakenya.
In iItaly, my husband had some indifference with an Egyptian woman who then called the police. At the end of solving the problem they asked for our docs, all who were present. The Egyptian said, but I am a citizen of Italy, they can show their docs, to make her angry, the police said, citizen ir docs at the end of the day you are all foreigners😂😂 the next thing she did was to move.😢
Good job Ruth love your video living in germany 🇩🇪 is very challenging I came.to germany from Kenya 1994 if I tell you my story you will not believe how I survived and raised 3 kids alone. Do you have what's up so we can speak on phone. Right now I'm out of germany.
First of all your girls are beautiful ❤ I dont even know why this video popped out in my feed but I felt it so much and guess what ? I am German born, raised with German family for genertions and my whole life I felt that way not knowing why.... I had interntional / african friends since childhood nd its where I feel home... really hard to describe but its true... Ive lived in Portugal came back to Germany for family reasons and eventhough I have amazing parents I CANT WAIT to move back there next year & escape this weird cold society. Feel hugged and I hope u find your place for you and your family ❤
I lived in Germany for many years and when corona came i came back to Kenya. I have never regretted. I live in diani and there's the biggest German community. They know that I know them very well so they are afraid of me
What if a German would say that he knows Africans very well and they are afraid of him ? He would be called a racist and nazi ,but black people can`t be racists.
Thank you for this great video ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉! It's great that you’re discussing these serious issues that impact us Africans & others. It also prepares newcomers for cultural shock that awaits them. This will ease their suffering 😊. Your kids are soo cute ❣️
Hi Ruth. I really love ur content and honesty eish. Just continue with the good work. I really learn a lot from u. Am a nurse but on family visa only a week old in Germany but everything u saying is true. Two days ago had a small talk with a German and am grateful for their honesty it makes work easier for us to know our boundaries😂. He told me n hubby that they feel bad when people come and takw up their jobs and they also need money and that's how he fwlt for sure. We just said we can't stay here if we are not working. Then he also told my hubby that here they r always cold and moody but us(other ländern women ) are bright n happy.
Everything you are saying is true, it annoys them when we try to smile hand have a good day even in the worst of circumstances we try to make the day a little better by being nice to each others and our collegues and even th elady at the bakery, But Germans don't understand this and think we are strange or they just wont smile back at you
Where are we wanted ???back home we are Killed is Even more worse. Just be positive do what you are doing for yourself and at your Best and live your life at your own pace best and right….one day at a time
Thank you for sharing dear and it's good you made this in English for all of us to understand. I cry out for our African leaders to make our countries better by stopping corruption. Then these people will work for us and it's the only way they will also understand that we are equal and not different from them. Thank you❤
Your English is excellent! As an American, I appreciate your perspective. What advice would you give those of us who want you to feel welcome and at home in our country? Most of us don’t hate foreigners. admittedly, our culture is too fast-paced, and community takes intentionality. but please don’t generalize, because we Westerners are not all the same. There are good and bad in all cultures.
I have been living in Germany for almost 8 years. Let me tell you something. The racist people you have seen are not the real Germany. racist people you see come from Poland, Russia, Croatia, Kosovo and Macedonia. They are also refugees from poor European countries
I spent many years in Stockholm, Sweden, for years to the point of naturalising. This automatically made me a EU citizen. Otherwise I was born in Kampala, Uganda. I left during the time of Idi Amin. I eventually moved to Canada, to study some more. I have here for 35 years & obviously a citizen. All what you saying is so true.
Bin 31 Jahre
Tips to foreigners especially black Races just like myself. We are hated almost everywhere, not only in German,Swiss .etc. It is very important; 1.What are the reasons that brought you in this Country. Work hard to achieve your goals/dreams.The Road is very rough. But always remember.Good things do not come easy. After thorough research.I came to realise that. This People also struggle to earn a living.I learnt to struggle just like them 2.Learn their Culture. Very important. This helps you intergrate with them easier. 3.Learn their lamguage. Without their lamguage. You are forever lost. 4.Know your rights. Once they realise that you know your rights. They do not bother you. Stand up for yourself.. Racisim is Worldwide. You will still find those who will try to belittle you no what matter your efforts. Defend yourself Living in CH since the last 24 years has been normal.Normal struggles just like the Swiss.Unfare treatments from now and then, which is even worse in my own Country- Kenya. Since i get treated like foreigner back home. Personally..i think..focus on your goals..As long as you are a normal Tax Payee..You will make it. Most of this racists are not even Swiss. Secondos are much more worse. We should train our Kids to go back and make it better in Africa Our African dictators are to blame. If they did not grab everything .We should not have been here in the first place. Therefore, lets enlighten our Children. To go back home later and make things right. So that People do not migrat, rather stay home to build our Natiom. African Continent is very beautiful. We only luck good leaders
Same here in US! 80% of Citizens are illiterate of how Gov works! So, they got angriness with everything! Only rich folks are the one who are little normal careless about other people! Is all over the world! I came from TZ to lived from middle class to upper class life! What I experienced when I was middle class is different with what I experienced in upper class life! 😊 Mediocre people are always trouble makers! 😢😂
I am also from Africa. I am fully integrated in Germany. The key is the German language. It is necessary to learn and speak German. My husband was born in Germany, and has lived in Germany all his life. When we moved from one city to another, we were also not accepted. It took years! Even Germans who move somewhere else have difficulties being accepted and integrated.
Hata ukienda choo wanatoroka, ukienda kuweka chai wanakuangalia vibaya...so as long as one is earning, mimi nitafunga maskio
I don’t want to shout but the she was invited by a family member back in 2015 and then she went back home and in 2017 she tried again with a visiting visa and she got it. She decided to extend her stay and seeked asylum.
You give them some thing they say you are crazy insteady thanke you or they say you are bribing before you known it,it has spread all over at the work place get read your pay check starts getting complain
We black people are away missing a very important point which is the Illusion of to be first ones to live in Germany. Go learn their language, culture and HISTORY. come back to comment thereafter.

The number one mistake to all new people coming to Germany dont listen to negative thoughts from people who have been here for too long.. Life treats each person differently

Wow, thank you yes 🙌 need tobshare the truth out there so that people can get to know the challenges and how to deal with them
Thanks, Ruth, you're so authentic
I'm Filipina living in Austria. I also feel same exactly what you are saying. I think as long us we immigrants they are treating differently. In short they Crazy. They don't have any appreciation always complaining
Your mentality is just like mine. I believe I will thrive in Deutschland.
You are explaining very well. All the best my sister.

You are very welcome to Nairobi

I Love your profile 🫡🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽
Thank you for this. I wish this advice was available for me before I moved here. Anyway penda wewe sana :)
Big difference btwn want and need🎉🎉🎉u nailed it❤
Negative people are everywhere.

If you watched towards the end you’ll hear what I said.
@@ruthKim-dt4lt Please, make more videos in English .. we your fans from way back miss you alot.
tusome na hawatutaki?aahh wacha nikae home 100%
You are so right, i have been in Germany for for the past two years now and i can relate to everything you're saying
Well appreciate sister no matter what we have to be strong our self
Hey, do you mind sharing your email address please?
Home is home but our wicked politicians throw us away to become a slave in a foreign land.😢😢😢😢
Exactly 💯. I am from Nigeria 🇳🇬, and this is what I always say
First of all your girls are beautiful ❤
I dont even know why this video popped out in my feed but I felt it so much and guess what ? I am German born, raised with German family for genertions and my whole life I felt that way not knowing why.... I had interntional / african friends since childhood nd its where I feel home... really hard to describe but its true... Ive lived in Portugal came back to Germany for family reasons and eventhough I have amazing parents I CANT WAIT to move back there next year & escape this weird cold society.
Feel hugged and I hope u find your place for you and your family ❤
I lived in Germany for many years and when corona came i came back to Kenya. I have never regretted. I live in diani and there's the biggest German community. They know that I know them very well so they are afraid of me
Usiwapee amani
What if a German would say that he knows Africans very well and they are afraid of him ? He would be called a racist and nazi ,but black people can`t be racists.
good information. Thanks for sharing ur mind
Nice, you are back with the English version.
As Latvian , I moved to Germany because my husband from Egypt is studying here. I enjoyed watching this video in English 😊
Thank you for this great video ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉! It's great that you’re discussing these serious issues that impact us Africans & others. It also prepares newcomers for cultural shock that awaits them. This will ease their suffering 😊. Your kids are soo cute ❣️
Very very true Germany we are here to stay not leaving anytime soon
This is the German reality that is true, thank you for sharing your experiences ❤
What a positive person you're. Well done. I believe in same stuff you have mentioned. ❤
Tbh the language is so important
Me too after Retire straight to my country Kenya
But l still along way to go
Im tired here in Germany
So you want that retirement money that's y ?
Why not if you work hard you should have retired money.
Just be positive do what you are doing for yourself and at your Best and live your life at your own pace best and right….one day at a time
wow you have nice,beautiful kids

But unfortunately in our country there no opportunities.
Exactly and the country is not even stable
Wah thanks manze i wanted to move to germany but my friend got killed over there now i understand why... Damn! Its crazy
What, they even go to an extent of killing!
@@christinemueni6147 there are also Germans killed by Africans .
Very very true ❤
Very true! And Arabs!
@madeleinemartin9911 some
Eastern Europeans
I spent many years in Stockholm, Sweden, for years to the point of naturalising. This automatically made me a EU citizen. Otherwise I was born in Kampala, Uganda. I left during the time of Idi Amin. I eventually moved to Canada, to study some more. I have here for 35 years & obviously a citizen. All what you saying is so true.
Hi, Ruth your girls are adorable, love the video, very concise.❤
There is no place like home, infact afrika is a very sweet place when you have money.
Bin 31 Jahre
Tips to foreigners especially black Races just like myself.
We are hated almost everywhere, not only in German,Swiss .etc.
It is very important;
1.What are the reasons that brought you in this Country.
Work hard to achieve your goals/dreams.The Road is very rough. But always remember.Good things do not come easy.
After thorough research.I came to realise that. This People also struggle to earn a living.I learnt to struggle just like them
2.Learn their Culture.
Very important. This helps you intergrate with them easier.
3.Learn their lamguage.
Without their lamguage. You are forever lost.
4.Know your rights.
Once they realise that you know your rights.
They do not bother you.
Stand up for yourself..
Racisim is Worldwide.
You will still find those who will try to belittle you no what matter your efforts.
Defend yourself
Living in CH since the last 24 years has been normal.Normal struggles just like the Swiss.Unfare treatments from now and then, which is even worse in my own Country- Kenya.
Since i get treated like foreigner back home.
Personally..i think..focus on your goals..As long as you are a normal Tax Payee..You will make it.
Most of this racists are not even Swiss.
Secondos are much more worse.
We should train our Kids to go back and make it better in Africa
Our African dictators are to blame.
If they did not grab everything .We should not have been here in the first place.
Therefore,lets enlighten our Children.
To go back home later and make things right. So that People do not migrat, rather stay home to build our Natiom.
African Continent is very beautiful.
We only luck good leaders
You are so much like me😂Thick skin and not to be intimidated ❤
We need to be tough to thrive here
Same here in US! 😢😂
Thank you for the insight
Dennis is like German. When I visited Denmark 🇩🇰, they did not queue near the black . So sad
very true mrembo
I am also from Africa. I am fully integrated in Germany. The key is the German language. It is necessary to learn and speak German. My husband was born in Germany, and has lived in Germany all his life. When we moved from one city to another, we were also not accepted. It took years! Even Germans who move somewhere else have difficulties being accepted and integrated.
Informative content 👏
Hata ukienda choo wanatoroka, ukienda kuweka chai wanakuangalia vibaya...so as long as one is earning, mimi nitafunga maskio
Very shitty people out here but most contracts state that discrimination is not allowed so I think she should report them
Nice one Ruth .❤
You are right Ruth.
I don’t want to shout but the she was invited by a family member back in 2015 and then she went back home and in 2017 she tried again with a visiting visa and she got it. She decided to extend her stay and seeked asylum.
I totally agree with you that, moving to other countries from Germany won't make a difference.
Yes I really love it in English. You were amazing
An honest women
I can vouch for everything what she said after living in German for 8 years
You are so true,my Sister
You give them some thing they say you are crazy insteady thanke you or they say you are bribing before you known it,it has spread all over at the work place get read your pay check starts getting complain
We black people are away missing a very important point which is the Illusion of to be first ones to live in Germany. Go learn their language, culture and HISTORY. come back to comment thereafter.
Honestly for the Germans this is home. For me my home is in my country. I am Habesha and I miss home and family means everything yall.
Which part of Germany do you live and which Ausbildung did you do? Am planning to do an Ausbildung but i don't really know which one yet.

The number one mistake to all new people coming to Germany dont listen to negative thoughts from people who have been here for too long.. Life treats each person differently
