Hi, great and very informational video; exactly what I needed to do my flower beds. I do raise some vegetables, too so will probably do the same for their bed, too. I also live in the 8A zone, Fort Worth, and even had a dog that looked exactly like yours. We were told he was a Canaan, origin from the Middle East; he was the best and sweetest dog we ever had. He was sixteen years old when he died from cancer June 20, 2020 and I miss him so much. Anyway, seeing your pup just brought back memories of Charlie. Thanks again for the great video and am looking forward to getting my drip system and weed cloth this week.
Hello! I'm glad you found the video helpful! And I'm sorry to hear that about your pup. 😢 But I'm glad my dog Nala could bring back some good memories for you. We think she's 3/4 belgian malinois and 1/4 pit bull. Wishing you a good growing season this year! ☺
@@DewBloomFlowerFarm yes!!!!! You guys are much more calm than us when we do projects together 😉 buying the irrigation at lowes was….. a great experience… cannot wait until we actually lay it 🤣
Looks great! I’m so excited for you! Some of my hardy annuals went out today. I’m not nearly as patient as you. Mine got 3, maybe 4 days hardening off. I’m so ashamed. Lol It’s sink or swim baby! Around here ya gotta be tough! 😂
Thank you! I usually do about a week too but I'm scared to kill them and have it all documented on video lol :) Glad you were able to plant out some stuff!
I have been researching about whether to put the drip line on top of the landscape fabric or below. I seem to see people doing it both ways and never get definitive answer. My question is if you install the drip tape underneath the landscape like you did, then how can you see or check if something wrong with your drip tape? Thank you for this wonderful video.
Hello! I had the same question when I went to install lol. ☺ I chose to put the drip underneath the fabric because it protects the drip from sun damage or other damage and prevents tripping hazards. I was worried about not being able to check on it, but I can still see the drip tape through the planting holes every 6 or 9 inches to check for problems. The mainline and connectors are not under the fabric so I can check these for leaks or issues easily. If I do have an issue and it needs to be replaced while flowers are growing in the fabric, it's probably going to be a pain to deal with... Also some of the pros (like Floret) put the drip under the fabric. In the book, "The Flower Farmer" by Lynn Byczynski, she says you can put drip under or over the fabric. Honestly, I think either way is probably okay!
Yikes! Gloves and mask with the amendments please. I’d like to continue watching you for years to come. Lol Did you buy an irrigation kit or did you buy each component separately? I’ve been dreading setting up drip this year. Hardy annuals look amazing!
I bought the irrigation kit from Johnny's, link in the description box. I could not imagine trying to buy all the pieces separately! Too complicated. :)
beats the hell out of weeding the time it tooking to set up the fabric will come back in time spent weeding! Great job!

Be careful...most veggies like slightly acidic oils.. ph is a critical thing
Great point! I followed the lime application recommendation from my soil test results. Very acidic soil here, good for blueberries, though. 😊
