I really enjoy his videos. He does a fantastic job explaining everything step by step. I can't believe he is gone. He seems like such of a kind person. They don't make people like him anymore. I know that he will be missed. 😪

Steve seems to be such a genuinely sweet and kind man with a huge heart--his energy just seems to fill the whole room. When I first stumbled across the channel a few weeks ago I didn't know he had passed away, I only found that out about 20 videos in. It made me really sad to learn of his passing. I will be doing ALL of his recipes and will think of him while I enjoy them 😋 Rest in peace 😢
Oh my;) I decided to make this for dinner tonight. I had everything except ground beef so I cut up steak I had in the fridge, and coated the pieces with flour, and fried it up. After that, I followed Steve’s recipe to the “T” and my dinner got rave reviews. It is literally the best stroganoff I’ve ever had! I think that consommé is the secret. Thank you thank you❤️I’m going to try it next time with ground beef.
This beef stroganoff came out the best I've ever had God Bless you and your husband I use all his recipes Thank You he's the greatest chef of all times and I mean that

This looks so good, I'm definitely going to make it. I'm so sad though - I just discovered this channel like a week ago and subscribed, only to discover this sweet, funny man passed away in 2018 😢. I'm still going to keep watching though. His recipes look SO good! Thank you Miss Sheila for keeping the channel going ❤
hey Steve when I do a beef roast in the crock pot I use beef constimae and french onion soup both made by Campells and my veggies and let it go slow all day the smell you just won't belive you gotta try it everyone here loves it
A beef consume is beef stock that’s been clarified by adding egg whites, ground meats, mirepoix, etc. to form a raft that traps all of the impurities from the stock. Also, I noticed you used 1/3 c of water and flour, I learned that you could use less water and replace the flour with cornstarch, that way you don’t have to work to hard to keep that rich beef flavor because you won’t have as much water. I love this recipe! I’m going to try it out today.
I use cornstarch also I use about 2 tbsp. I also don't usually need much water. Just enough to mix the cornstarch ( 3-4 tablespoons) I hope you understand my directions..lol 😁
Shotgun red is a wonderful cooking teacher what he does how he explains things. Love him and his recipes. My other favorite is Rachel cooks with love for Mexican food she is very legit as well. Have learned a lot from these two!
I cut my onion the Shotgun Red way! Ever since I was a little girl! Thank you for showing us that what we've been doing for DECADES is right and the best!
I made this for my family tonight for dinner and BOTH of my daughters loved it! Even our picky eater who normally hates mushrooms went to town and had about three heaping bowls of this stuff! At first I was worried about adding the tomato paste because I was concerned it was going to ruin the dish but it actually enhanced the flavor! My only complaint was the gravy got a little too thick for my liking but I just added a splash of milk and it solved the problem and made it nice and creamy without ruining it! We served it over egg noodles. The hubby still isn't home yet from his volunteer job at a horse rescue he works at but when he gets home he's going to try it and I can't wait to see his reaction! Thank you for keeping this video up. RIP shotgun Red
You sound like you have a great family! Glad you liked the recipe and it was a hit. When Steve passed he had made 307 recipes for this channel now it has over 440 video’s so you have more dinners you can make from here. There is a video on here called The History of Shotgun Red. You can also type in shotgunred1000 That one has video’s of Steve out fishing and in his garden etc.... Thanks for watching this channel ! ❤️🧑🏻🍳
This looks awesome. Going to try this but I’m also gonna add steak meat with the ground beef because I don’t have enough meat. Wish me luck! Ty for the recipe ❤️
This was so good! I didn’t have beef consommé so I used a beef bullion cube and just a couple ounces of water and microwaved it and put it in. I also added milk for the extra liquid that the beef consommé would have actually given it. It is delicious thank you!
Hi Sheila ⚡ love reminiscent videos! Not seen Steve live, wished I saw ya'll ! Glad to see you 2 beautiful woman keeping my appetite and heart alive ♥ ❤
i changed a couple things like organic chickpea flour, used black angus grass fed ground, put a little tumeric powder and thyme in with the sauce. used brown rice noodles. expensive but it was dynnnnnmaite. tysm. subbed
What a great recipe! I can’t wait to try it… he must have been great to work with, so complementary and gave credit where it was due… he will be missed… the good always go young cause greater things are planned for them…
🙄 THAT is about the biggest lie anyone can possibly ever come up with as a "reason" for young and younger people's deaths! My son was killed in an accident when he was 31, and I knew perfectly well that it was nothing but his being careless with how he put his gun back together in order to test fire it....and that by no means were there "greater things planned" for him!! I'm not going to be quiet about that, because your ignorant, cruel statement is extremely misleading, and you gave it no thought, but blathered off some idiotic thing you heard at some time. PLEASE STOP AND THINK BEFORE MAKING SUCH HIDEOUS, STUPID, HURTFUL STATEMENTS ABOUT DEATH AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Olive oil will actually cause the gravy or whatever else you want on the noodle to not stick. If you are able to put your noodles into the sauce right away after draining, you won't need to worry that they stick and they will hold the sauce a lot better. Pro tip!
Mix together a couple packets of Au Jus gravy mix in place of the Campbell’s Beef consommé. Deeper flavor in my opinion. Add half the amount of water it calls for on the packet. We also keep a couple more things on hand to boost things when need. Better Than Bouillon (which is very condensed) a little bit goes a long way. We also keep on hand a big jar of Knorr beef bouillon powder. Start with the Au Jus then add a lil bit of those mentioned seasoning in place of salt while cooking and let the eater adjust if they need more salt. Kid tested and mother approved 😁
