Although India has succeeded in crushing the Maoist movement in most of its heartlands, Adivasi anger continues to empower insurgents operating in Bastar and the Dandakaranya region.

I come from Naxalbari and let me tell you no adivasi if given a chance wants to live in his/her past. What they want is respect for their culture along with development. They want their children to go to best schools and have employment opportunities just like the rest of us. Yes they want to conserve their tradition but foraging no. And what these naxals are doing is not giving them option to choose.
Adivasis in Naxalbari are not natives of Bengal but migrant laborers from Jharkhand brought here by the British to work in their plantations.
The current supposedly leftist movement in Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telengana etc where the Adivasis are the sons of the soil the fight is over the land and resources between the Adivasis and non tribals who are encroaching on their land.
Naxal movement has little connect with the current conflict between the tribals and non tribals in central India erroneously described as the Red Corridor.
@@agonnoga6100 I think the tribal land is not transferable to other than the tribals themselves and what I am sure of is that they will be politically marginalised when they join the mainstream which they already are under the maoists. However my problem with maoists is that they are not giving them chance to choose what they want. For issues they can always constitute TRIBAL ADVISORY COMMITTEES. And also I believe that like adivasis in Bengal they will choose the mixture of development and preserving their culture.

Adivasis are not "Maoists" but tribals fighting for their land and rights. They have got little to do with communist ideology.
Modi is changing the law whereby lands hitherto considered tribal lands can be used for commercial exploitation.
Let the bhoomiputras decide their idea of development. Let it not be imposed on them by someone who wants to loot their wealth.
@@agonnoga6100 I never said Adivasis are maoists(it can be person of any ethnicity )i but it would be naive to say that all Adivasis of Central India are resisting. While some might be genuinely inclined to maoists ideals others w/o means of decent livelihood are attracted towards the Naxals. While I empathise with the apprehension my fellow adivasis have for eg we Rajbanshis who were 70 % of the population of north bengal in 1970s have come down to 30% in 2010s(respective censuses) our land being bought at dirt cheap rates by smarter Bengalis and we driven to rural areas but I think our fellow adivasis should learn from our experience and come to settlement with GOI in terms that are advantageous to them. But I would surely not believe that there aren’t Maoists who oppose the Indian Union and want to overthrow GOI and make India a communist state.
@@prasenjitbarman8860 seems the real so called tribes or tribals of some part Northern Bengal were Rasbansis but they got colonized by Bengali tribes. Adivasis are not the native tribe or community of Northern Bengal initially, though.
Two reasons we, Indians have to spend 6 lakh crores(82 billion dollars) per year of taxpayers money in army/defense sector.
1)Communists(Maoists, Naxalites, China)
2)Islamists (Pak & Kashmiri separatists)
Yet the liberals support both of them in the name of socialism and secularism respectively.

There should be deep rage among many other communities … kashmiri pandits included. Persecution and hardship does not end up in terrorism always. The tribals aren’t terrorists. Media’s urban naxals are. One of them is seen in this video
