Thanks a lot! I appreciate the gratitude. It did take a lot of effort to make and I especially tried to get every "bang" to match a soldier's movement! I filmed and edited EVERY clip myself. I love German marches!
I would love to lead a reenactment where we have over 200 men dressed in Prussian Pre WW1 uniforms and have them march down, in a full Militaristic style. That would be amazing!
for zenistic: tattoo is a polynesian word meaning "tapping" for the method used by tapping a needle with a stick to get the ink into the skin. but it can also be used as in tapping on a drum in military music
I believe it originated from European traditions of calling the troops back for the night called "Tap Toe" I believe it was a Nordic country that has that and people began to translate it with an accent, Tattoo
It's the old intro to a march. All Armies have used this since Napoleonic times. The Order to quick (or slow) march is given, the Drums and Fifes begin this into to make the step of a large body of men lively. Marching to music is a better way of keeping time. Nowadays the march tune follows on, such as Auf Wiedersehen and as you note, Alte Kameraden Hope this helps. Jim
Lip Jing Ng There are no german traditions in general. These are prussian traditions chile have :) There is also, austrian, bavarian, westfalian, saxon, hessian etc.
Preussischer Lockmarsch. Used to introduce the next piece and allow the band-members to change music sheets as appropriate. Seen the Massed Bands of the Household Division do that when they do five drum beats as their intro.
This is beautifully played. However before all the cutbacks the Edingburgh tattoo in Scotland was always one of the finest of military displays, of music and other military things. Sadly we are down to inviting other countries to play with us. lol
1:06 anyone noticed on bottom of the drum it says "TOP SECRET"? plus a drummer accidentally fall his drumming stick? and also soldiers waved swedish flag (1:26) instead of german flag?
I love all German marches. I got a Hohenfriedberger video if anyone wants to listen to it feel free! Your right lets get this Koniggratzer the best in UA-cam!
The Holy Roman Empire functioned as a German national state from 1648 until 1806. The German state founded in 1871 (not 1866) used the Constitution as an almost exact model.
Great music from Germany, maybe the powers that be in Germany will take note of the very lame uniforms worn by their army bands. Could they take a hint from Sweden and their Prussian uniforms?
i found a website where you can get the dvd - of the actual live version directly from Germany - 2011 Berlin military tatoo - opening song is yours truly.
Am Anfang und auch zwischendurch sieht dass so aus, als würden die auf Rechts gehen, dass hätte man villt noch ändern können, aber sonst super Video und schöner Marsch!! :)
How did you do this ? It is an absolutely brilliant piece of video editing, would love to get hold of this at a cost even. The music sounds so deep and rich, unlike the others which sound too "tinny" and with no bass.
Amen to that, your forces had the best presentation. I apologize for the ignorance of my country. Not too pleased with our soldiers modern uniforms myself, with exception of the USMC.
Damit die Soldaten (Musikern) den gleichen Marschschritt aufnehmen und halten können. To give the same beat for all of the soldiers to march in synchronization.
There are no words for how much I love this march, and I'm not even German!
Immer ein Genuss das Berlin Tattoo , dieses Jahr war es auch sehr schön !
did anyone else notice the drum stick fall at 1:06
Thanks a lot! I appreciate the gratitude. It did take a lot of effort to make and I especially tried to get every "bang" to match a soldier's movement! I filmed and edited EVERY clip myself. I love German marches!
Love this song! I am Brazilian and I am fanatical about German culture ... this song encourages me every morning!
Still one of my favorite marches!
...Immer Mein Liebe Marsch Musik von Deutschland.!
Love how the swedish look more german then the actual germans in terms of traditional prussian uniforms
The Germans have always put on an outstanding military performance, whatever time it may be!
German marches absolutely the best !!
I would love to lead a reenactment where we have over 200 men dressed in Prussian Pre WW1 uniforms and have them march down, in a full Militaristic style. That would be amazing!
if my school ever needed music, i would be glad to show them this
This is the best Marsch and greetings from Germany
!Greatest militar band of all the World!! Berlin Tattoo!! Congratulations!!!

Prussia/German military music all the way!!!!
for zenistic: tattoo is a polynesian word meaning "tapping" for the method used by tapping a needle with a stick to get the ink into the skin. but it can also be used as in tapping on a drum in military music

Lip Jing Ng There are no german traditions in general. These are prussian traditions chile have :) There is also, austrian, bavarian, westfalian, saxon, hessian etc.
Gefällt mir sehr gut.
Wonderful... fantastic, incredible. I would like see and heard it in person
Finde ich Super sollte es Öfter und über all geben!
"My boy we are pilgrims in an unholy land"
I love this march!
I'm American but I got to say this song alone gives Germany the title of "GREATEST COUNTRY ON EARTH!!" 🇩🇪
Your editing of the video is terrific! It coincides nicely with the music.
Lang lebe unser heiliges Deutschland.
Der ist doch schon lange tot :-)

This video makes me proud to be of European descent. Europe! Unite against communism, extreme capatalism, and Muslim fundamentalism!
Germany should use the pickelhaube again, in my country colombia we use for our ceremonial and use some prussian marches as well
I love Prussian marching music!
Notice that only a very few times did you see any goose stepping :)
In Commie countries, they always march in goose step. Shows how much they seek to avoid any comparison in style to former Nazi style marching.
teenagerinsac goose step was invented by prussians
Wunderbar
Wonderful~ I always listen this music when i clean the house. from south korea
I don't wanna die before I didn't see a tattoo like this in real!
This is beautifully played. However before all the cutbacks the Edingburgh tattoo in Scotland was always one of the finest of military displays, of music and other military things. Sadly we are down to inviting other countries to play with us. lol
Tenho orgulho dessa nação a qual sou decendente
That was amazing! So many of the worlds forces involved in the marches, a united force almost.... :D
The best March music comes from Germany and Sweden .
right :)
Der Blitzkrieg England????Hahahaha!!
pe er I don't see whats funny, they have great marches.
i remember that on youtube if you werent american you were like a criminal who violated human rights
Nice video !!!
1:06 his drum stick falls lol
LOOOL XD
Awesome Music !!!!!
1:06 anyone noticed on bottom of the drum it says "TOP SECRET"? plus a drummer accidentally fall his drumming stick? and also soldiers waved swedish flag (1:26) instead of german flag?
Make no mistake, this is fantastic.
I love this song

I know! I remember I used to sometimes confuse the two.
beautiful performance!
Super marschmusik
incredible!
A quick check just now and the Fife and Drum part prefixes the marches Georgia (US Civil War) and the British Grenadiers. Quite universal.
They should use the old Prussian uniform, here in my country the army use this Prussian uniform. From Chile
PLEASE SHARE MY VIDEO! SPREAD THE GERMAN TRADITION!
The Russians were an ally, and unfortunately screwed East Germany up afterwards...
Alexander Surname We bombed the shit out of German cities good old R.A.F.
Daniel García not forgetting the U.S.A.A.F.
Nobody Ever incredible. glad she's ok.
The video is supposed to glorify Germany through its music, not its politics from whatever period in history. Just enjoy it, people!
Were Swedish musicians actually part of this performance or did you cut them in? (1:02)
everything was all in the performance!
Great music from Germany, maybe the powers that be in Germany will take note of the very lame uniforms worn by their army bands. Could they take a hint from Sweden and their Prussian uniforms?
thanks. I already knew about getting a dvd!
It's the Swedish Army Band and yes, it's a pickelhaube with either plume or pike (pickel).
Super
Did I see the Russian musicians or am I mistaken? 0:58 and 1:10?
Gott im Himmel..... WUNDERBAR!!! O.O
Grüße aus Italien! :)
i found a website where you can get the dvd - of the actual live version directly from Germany - 2011 Berlin military tatoo - opening song is yours truly.
Very nice show
I think you are right... in fact I just thought of this today, again.
A Swedish uniform from 1886 with Pickelhaube (Kask) m/1887. The plume is made of horse or buffalo hair.
That's our attitude as well. Which is why the navy flies the rattlesnake jack these days, inscribed"don't tread on me!"
Belle musique
me neither! I ended up using this song from another video it is so good... I had to use it!
it's great
I never knew that only Great Britain, Germany, Sweden and Danmark are the only european countrys with militarys.
I'm so glad that I live on planet Earth with the German people. So badass
Say what you will about the Germans, but they know how to march with style.
This is the reason i love germany strong army rich nation even they lose ww1 ww2 i still love it
yes number one again in Europe
Nice! is there any videos on youtube about it?
Like this video and share it if you enjoy German military marches! I am the cameraman!
I love this it is
great. where can I get a cd?
Am Anfang und auch zwischendurch sieht dass so aus, als würden die auf Rechts gehen, dass hätte man villt noch ändern können, aber sonst super Video und schöner Marsch!! :)
@Hidekius actually, the brandenburg gate is a proud symble of Germany not a modle.
Beautifull! i am proud on my prussian anchestors!
How did you do this ? It is an absolutely brilliant piece of video editing, would love to get hold of this at a cost even. The music sounds so deep and rich, unlike the others which sound too "tinny" and with no bass.
@Hidekius I understand, but why would they make a modle and not march under the Real one?
Amen to that, your forces had the best presentation. I apologize for the ignorance of my country. Not too pleased with our soldiers modern uniforms myself, with exception of the USMC.
@william19941112 大佬,视频下写咗“European militaries marching at the Berlin Tattoo 2011” ,军队阵列表演比赛之类来嗟。要仔细啲。
That would be great if you ever found one and posted it :)
yes the last part is the Hohenfriedberger Marsch :)
thanks!
Could you please add which militaries are marching to the description or in annotations?
Da schlägt mir das Herz höher
Amazing... I had no idea Bundeswehr drills with K98 Mausers...
The thing missing is a bass drum banging one....two....one two three at the starting.
Uitstekende mooie strakke mars kunnen ze hier nog wat van leren met dat slappe gedoe.
Damit die Soldaten (Musikern) den gleichen Marschschritt aufnehmen und halten können.
To give the same beat for all of the soldiers to march in synchronization.
So impressive!
Das habe ich erstmals bei "Indiana Jones Und Der Letzte Kreuzzug" gehört.
If you were there in the stands when the first started marching in with the music, how hard would it be not to raise your right arm forward lol
Good work then Buddy !
I wish there would be still more traditions left. Right now there aren´t many.
