    I remember going over this with some of your previous videos. I was hitting my irons way too accurate so I stopped. 🤦 Now I'm back here seeking this wisdom . It's amazing how far one can drift from sound principles. Thanks Shawn.

    WOW!! I am dumbfounded. I have wondered forever how some people can hit the ball so far. I am not a short hitter per se 170-7I 150-9I. But I have played two rounds using your method to the extent I have been able to figure it out so far. I struck the ball solidly and played ok though I didn't score particularly well. Until hole 16 of my last round when I got out of my own way and really gathered the club and threw it through the hitting area out toward the target. I hit 3wood further than my driver about 275 and it exploded off the clubface, I followed that up with a PW up hill into the wind about 145 which also was crushed. over drew that a touch but still on the green. Now those two shots were the only two that I felt like I really did what you are talking about. Couldn't quite get it back after that but I now know the feeling. I will be able to get that back in my coming practice I am sure of it. What explosive speed and contact. Got lots left to figure out but those two shots ( I know its only two swings but they were night and day from my normal), have sold me on what we are doing here.
    Thank you Shawn, Savv, and Mu.

      Right on! After hitting shots like that it is easy to start straining for more; keep reseting to momentum based throws that feel ridiculously easy to perform!

    • @pastorjason4337
      @pastorjason4337 Рік тому

      That is exactly what happened to me, I started really trying to kill it after that. Eager to get back to the range to start resetting as you say.@@golflessons

    • @WorldsBestWingman

      Compression is coming, but right now so exciting that wrist and elbow pain is gone. Now I need to drop the tensions from the old hurt muscle memory swing, and the extra distance will follow...

    Great video. Is there a trail arm/elbow video on your channel. I would love to watch that but I can’t seem to find it. Keep up the great content.

      You bet! see “can’t miss from here shawn clement” and “football drill shawn clement” and “loaded arms shawn clement” (oldie but goodie there!); on our premium channel it would be “trail hand release”, football drill series”, “shawn’s new favorite drill”, “battering ram” “grip and arm swing” and “off season training series 2020-21 . enjoy!

    Great advice I was going right heavy because I felt I was hooking certain shots and it killed my swing not being able to clear my hips getting stuck on my left lead leg etc.

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  Рік тому +1

      If the ball is your target, you won’t clear the hips properly of time things properly; the ball is the intersection on the way to the target!

    I have an intermediate point for every shot, from driver to final putt!
    Have a buddy who holds his club across his hips, and his feet and shoulders are always in conflict!

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  Рік тому

      Yes, very common because he is trying to line up from the side without an intermediate point; like trying to find a light switch in a dark room you have never been in…😝😝

    I’ve seen you make videos on closed stances and how they were easier and like in this video seems like the open is better

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  Рік тому

      You really need to know what you are doing with the closed stance! we have a VERY STRUCTURED, WELL RESEARCHED, series on the DIAGONAL STANCE SERIES on our premium channel at Wisdom in Golf Premium.com where we show you how to set it up, how it affects alignment and the COG of the set up, how it really favours the longer clubs but can be used with wedges mo problem, especially for those with limited range of motion in the backswing!

    Parallax causes a lot of good golfer slice on their driver and they also misses a lot of putts. A pro showed me a test how bad my parallax was with my driver. I was shocked. I was aiming prob 20 degrees to the left.

    Good information shawn, many of the greats tilt the head to the right for a right hand golfer, is there any advantage to that. Bobby jones said he did it from an early age but when you see jones,snead, Nicklaus etc do it, it makes me curious. Ty for the video

      Rory in the downswing, Tommy Fleetwood in the downswing; should be taught right from the get go like we do; ESSENTIAL FOR DELIVERY THROUGH THE BALL INTO THE TARGET WHERE THE MONEY IS!!
      think LUMBERJACK: No tilt for splitting wood, pure over the top action
      Tilt is essential when taking down a tree, where over the top CANNOT EXIST!! Get with our premium channel at www.wisdomingolfpremium.com and see “tilt mile markets”, “Hammer drill”, “throwing the club”, “impact mile markers”, uphill, downhill, sidehill lies”, and many, many more!

  • @thomasmccauley9607

    What do you think of Viktor Hovland’s swing? I noticed his left arm was bent at impact with his driver. Does that help him with his cut? On another note I was playing a par three yesterday with a green front to back which is over 100 ft. I take a club slightly longer than necessary because if you are short the ball rolls back down the hill into a gully. The tee was a little wet from early morning dew. As I started the downswing my back foot slipped backwards ala Scottie Sheffler. I regained my balance and hit a shot at least 20 yards longer than i usually hit with that club. The bad news was the pin was on the front and I had a 75 foot putt down the hill. I left the first putt 15 feet short protecting against goin off the front of the green and down the hill. The good news is I sunk the second putt for a 3. I doubt if I could duplicate that swing again LOL.

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  Рік тому

      When you slipped, you had to hurry and hit the ball before you missed it and had a surge in speed; that can go both ways! 😝😝

    Hi Shawn, I know you advocate keeping the trail foot planted as you make contact (like long-hitting Kenny Perry used to). Just out of curiosity, how can a guy like Justin Thomas hit the ball so well when his trail foot's heel is Way off the ground before contact??

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  Рік тому +1

      Talent and swinging like that since very young! Before 6! Same for Sheffler; not many doing this on Champion’s tour…and even less in the real world!

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  Рік тому

      Exactly! This is why golfers don’t stick with it because they are getting the wrong information from the eyes to the brain! This natural conundrum wreaks havoc with your golf swing where you simply cannot let things go! On our premium channel, you would see “alignment reload”, then “blur of club”, then “arc blur unstoppable momentum series”, then all the “release” videos to fully abandon and yield to the direction it feels like it WANTS TO GO, and then you will have the tools to reset this crazy human phenomena anytime you need it.

  • @Scott-g9t

    Does your backswing being across the line help swing toward your picture or intermediate point?

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  Рік тому +2

      Being across the line is a natural thing that occurs when you allow the arms to gather freely in the backswing without trying to “connect them”; just like a baseball hitter waiting for the pitch and then as they are stepping into the pitch, they are sending the arms wide and away to catch the kinetic chain; when the kinetic chain engages with either the golf swing or baseball swing, magic happens!

    As much as I like his teaching. Some of his teaching is repetitive. Driver and iron alignment is different from his perspective

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  9 місяців тому +1

      You simply cannot repeat enough of a good thing! I get feedback all the time from people who have watched the same video 10 times and then say “why did you not say this in the first place!
      So congrats to you for listening! 😀👍🫶

    I never realized the club should go over the back of your head on the backswing...or the ball be back of center. At some point i've gotta stop watching YT videos.

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  Рік тому

      Tennis serves, baseball pitches, baseball hits, so many disciplines and sports have exactly the same kinetic chain as the golf swing! As for golfers who do this? Jack Nicklaus, Bubba Watson, kenny Perry, Fred Couples, Matt Wolff, and many many more! To try and nip and tuck the golf swing is a futile pursuit!
