Absolutely brilliant orchestration throughout the four movements of the Suite. I can't think of enough superlatives to describe its overall effect on me without resorting to an expletive or two, so I'll desist. And what a stunning performance here.
Thank you for posting this, had the opportunity to perform this back in my college days, as a bassist with the Portland Youth Philharmonic (we will always miss you Jakob A.), and it one of my fondest memories ever. Very hard to find any recorded performances of this fine piece anywhere, much less online. So much energy and tension, still gives me goosebumps anytime I hear it.
During my high school days I attended many concerts with Avshalomov conducting the Portland Junior Symphony. I especially recall one evening of a performance of the Bruckner 4, a work that I had never heard, and that became a favorite of mine and my introduction to Bruckner's music.
I wish I could find a way to run UA-cam channels like yours in my car when I do my (currently suspended) cross country travels. Treasure trove, that you are!
A lively piece that reminds me of some of the works of Vaughn Williams in that it conjures up images of country roads. Thanks for posting this delightful gem. (Not sure about the meaning of the ten-legged spider though.)

First heard this on an LP with Sargent conducting in c. 1963. Loved it straight away and cannot understand why it's hardly ever performed?

Vaughan Williams? There are passages that rather remind me of Brahms, Dvorak, Mahler and Rachmaninov, and I can point them out if need be.
