I just love the big and epic reprise of the first theme at 10:37 !
As a listener, I'll select this concerto and No. 1 with any piano concerto. They don't get any better than this. They get as good and there are host of really really good concertos available to listen to.
A real shame these works are not performed often outside of the European circuits.
He is sadly neglected.
I truly believe this concerto should be in the repertory of every pianist, I consider it a masterpiece. Unfortunately I don't share your enthusiasm for Concerto nr.1.....
The horns at 0:46 play the same thing at 27:39, now just in major... so many clever moments
10:35 is so incredibly amazing and makes me quiver
Thank You. Thank You. Thank You ! When YouTurds took this down I went into withdrawals. Let's keep this music alive ! Fantastic !
Yes what a great pianist/composer he was.
"YouTurds"-you mean, the ones providing you with all the free music?
I like the third movement at 27:18 very much.
Great composition. I love this music.
I had an old Angel pressing of this concerto, so this is the first time I've heard it in years. Still as fresh as I remember. Thks for the post.

No hay día en que no escuche esto. 10:35 es sentir el poder de mil galaxias atravesándote y fluyendo por todo tu ser
Just a thousand galaxies-um-try, a zillion perhaps!?
@@darrylschultz9395jajajaja the entire universe!!
Play It Again Sam !
Este concierto es HERMOSO!!! no me importan las especulaciones intelectuales sobre su relevancia.
Excellent interpretation and excellent recording!
The composer played it (Boult, Royal PO) at the age of 79: ua-cam.com/video/th8_o6dnOT4/v-deo.html
One of those concertos that makes you feel you have heard it all before... really can't see any signature in this. It is very nice though, enjoyed the ride otherwise...
