  • You might notice I ask for clearance to Louisiana initially, the destination was amended to Cherokee County Georgia, KCNI during cruise for a fuel stop since the headwinds decided to be much stronger than forecasted.
    I added the audio from one of the other cameras to include the engine noise so it isn't dead silent when no one is talking.
    This is my first time using Final Cut Pro to edit instead of Da Vinci Resolve but I think it turned out pretty good.

    Great aviation video! I love the fact that you don’t use music on your video!

    Excellent! Major kudos for showing single pilot IFR flying without silly airline callouts. CNI has quite the sloping runway...

    Good idea with the soft ambient engine sound. Many of us consider that music.

    Even though it was an IFR flight plan, less than 5 minutes of IMC, so you could only log a very few minutes of instrument time. Enjoyed the video. 😀

    Smooth landing , even though that little bit of yaw to the left right before touchdown made me nervous.Not too wide of a runway.

      Thanks! Yep I got just a little off centerline, not enough rudder input for the crosswind.

    Flew the C90A years back. Great machine. If I can just recommend for others to announce your moves as your going along and speak about the KA while you're at cruise. I won't mention his name but one pilot flying a Baron does and makes it more interesting for non King Air pilots. Just saying. Otherwise good video.

    Do those C90's have trouble tripping circuit breakers? That is a suspected cause of the Hawaii C90 crash. Supposedly the pilot lost all his avionics. Maybe an electrical failure at night?

    • @RunwayHeading
      @RunwayHeading  Рік тому

      I have flown 11 different C90s and never had a breaker pop. The only speculation I have seen for that crash is the possibility of spatial disorientation. I would be very surprised to see a complete avionics failure in a King Air.

      @@RunwayHeading That's good to know. I got that Idea from a comment on another youtube channel about the C90 accident in Hawaii. This is his exact quote: "C90 ems pilot here. These model king airs have a troublesome bus tie system which can mistakenly trip. This can lead to loss of all avionics (including pilots attitude indicator and hsi) and panel backlighting until corrected, or pilot uses emergency lights or a flashlight to reference the attitude indicator on copilots side." I don't know what a "bus tie system" is. I just assumed it was a circuit breaker of some sort. Spacial disorientation can be a killer, if it's bad enough. I assumed the pilot was experienced enough to know how to handle it. Maybe not. Surely he had an autopilot? Anyway, the accident was the subject of our local IMC Club meeting a few weeks ago. It has haunted me ever since.

      The one thing I would watch out for is the cannon plug below the fuel panel. Frost can corrode these connections. I once had the boost pumps remain on even after switched off at KYIP. It was pulled into maintenance and as they rebuilt the cannon plug, they explained that a C-90 based their had a dual engine failure when the short in the cannon plug closed both firewall valves. They landed in Lake Michigan. The corrosion comes from frost coming down the window and a poor seal on the fuel panel.

    It looks like it’s hard to see out of the windshield. Is that the case or is that a optical illusion with the cam behind pilots head?
