I don't really agree with it either and you should definitely tell the police instantly, but you can't be guaranteed that there will be any effort to find said missing person until the next few days.
What it is, is that the police often will not file a report until 24 hours because there are so many explanations for someone being missing for a few hours
The thing is; money and assets are limited, and the police doesn't want to waste money on what could most possibly be a false alarm. because then they'd be starved of resources when an actual emergency comes by.

It’s sad to say but you’re right. The abusing father probably raised the kids and got to hurt them during their childhood. This is why it’s important to donate to women and children abuse centers so women have a place to escape abuse legally and safely with their kids if the father is abusing the kids & mother
I was told by a few friends of mine, who are officers, that waiting 24 hours to report is the worst idea. That allows for more time for things to go wrong. I'm not saying to call if someone is gone an hour, but report something within a reasonable time. It is always easier to cancel a missing person report than it is to look for a body.

Have a nice day! Idk I was having a rough time since a month and then i had a good one today finally, so hope you do too. Stay happy and have a great one guys.
When I was a kid, a family friend, a young 16 yo girl by the name of Joanna Rogers was kidnapped and killed by a soldier who had already murdered a prostitute prior, her case remained cold and everyone in Lubbock searched for her, they found a link between her case and the prior murder case, and caught the guy, and using the details the killer gave as part of a plea deal to escape the death penalty, it took a long time but they ended up finding her body in a suitcase in a landfill. At the last moment her killer, a man named Rodriguez III went back on his plea deal, so the prosecutors were actually happy, since it meant they could throw it out and go for the death penalty, he's been on death row ever since waiting for his lethal injection.
What type of mother leaves her children with an abuser? How can you continue to live your life knowing that you have kids that could be in danger. She never even took a time to reach out...
back in october a girl from wisconsin, just a few hours away from me, went missing. her parents had been murdered and she disappeared. her name was jayme closs. she was the fbi’s biggest missing person case. everyone thought the girl was gone for good until she was found alive in january. she had escaped her kidnapper. she was found in gordon wisconsin, just a few hours away. to me, the scariest part is that i went to school with the kidnapper, and the house he held her in was just a few minutes away from my old one.
I remember that from BBC news! The girl was kidnapped for like 8 months I think, and she was held under his bed. The kidnapper ended up killing the parents to get to her. If that's the same one, that is HORRIBLE!
For a short time Shannon was moved to my primary school, but she was moved again when we all found out who she was. From what I remember she was quite a nice girl.
Me: title says they were found alive, so maybe this one video wont leave me utterly depressed at the end... The Infographics Show: We start with perhaps a happier case of a missing person and finish with more gruesome cases.
In some cases is due to economic violence... she probably would have not be able to feed herself so taking her children would have led them to homelessness and death.
Just want to point out on Onoda's particular story - it wasn't just the Army that went in to relieve him of his duty. It was his original commanding officer, who told him to not give up his post no matter what happens.
My husband should be on here. We were eating dinner and he got up and never came back. Then 6 years ago, boom, he pops up with a wife and three kids and then I realized that I was the mistress. 🤦🏽♀️
My brothers childhood friend disappeared for many years. Nobody could find him and to make things worse his name was super common. Think of a name like "Mike Smith". Many years later he was eventually located in a completely different province across Canada. Long story short he did not want to be found, he disowned his family for no apparent reason and wanted to dissapear forever but naturally they had to search for him to make sure he was alive. Nobody understands why he left.
My dad flies the Indiana state police helicopters. He’s always out looking for people. But recently they got a new helicopter and it’s already saved lives
Wellll you know what they say If you go missing (and your still alive) Don’t give up , until you find someone to help you Oh wait nobody says that oh well I’ll watch this channel all day everyday :D
That first statement just isn’t true. If you have sufficient reason to believe somebody is missing/has been kidnapped, then you need to tell the authorities. The longer you wait, the harder it’ll be to find them.
I can’t believe a local town made the #1 spot! I’m from Leeds, Yorkshire U.K and remember when it happened! I was in high school at the time, it was everywhere!
"Longest missing person" Interesting to think it has to be short to be considered the longest. Someone has to be found first to be considered the most missing
It’s disturbing that 500,000 people that were reported missing in 2017 were children where only 158,000 were adults.... I would feel a lot better if that number was flipped. I hope that of the young people/children that went missing a vast majority were simply taken by a parent in the midst of a divorce and custody dispute.
That is exactly it; most child kidnappings are not horror stories where predatory strangers take them to their dungeons but rather non-custodial parents taking them away. As terrible stories like Adam Walsh and Jaycee Dugard were, that VERY rarely happens.

My Father's Aunt vanished onto a bus in the 70's. The family never spoke about her again and no one knew anything. The estate she had inherited from her parents was bled dry by her siblings while she was gone, they used all the money trying to find her until there was no money left. Fast forward to 2015, my Dad's Sister found their Aunt's death certificate, one was filed under a fake name and one was filed under her original name in the year 2004. Apparently she went and had an entire family none of us knew about. My Family has yet to reach out to them, I wonder if my Great Aunt went into a fugue state or was kidnapped, if she remembered my dad's family or ever spoke of them to her new family.

Layme i wish for black ops 1. That game story is amazing

khalid maged Bo1 was great but Mw3 had the greatest ending ever to any campaign of any game in my opinion
@Coyote Recon Nope I agree black ops campaign was good but Modern warfare 2 campaign was a masterpiece it was just epic
@Coyote Recon I know but you say bo campaign was the best to which i disagree because mw2 campaign was epic

I remember stories of Onoda from my Grandfather which is a war veteran, he came across Onoda's story when he came across a file report regarding a Japanese soldier in the mountains. My grandpa was in service before and after WWII, Even my grandma knows about Onoda and called him "Tokwa" or tofu in english

Because you should just ask Matthew Santoro for that
Y’all shoulda added some missing persons pictures on the end
i remember seeing someone tweeting about their friend reporting themself as a missing person because her family can't find her...
“And that was that. Goodbye mom!” I spat out my drink when he said that oh my GOD

Wow i needed to hear that
When I was a kid, a family friend, a young 16 yo girl by the name of Joanna Rogers was kidnapped and killed by a soldier who had already murdered a prostitute prior, her case remained cold and everyone in Lubbock searched for her, they found a link between her case and the prior murder case, and caught the guy, and using the details the killer gave as part of a plea deal to escape the death penalty, it took a long time but they ended up finding her body in a suitcase in a landfill. At the last moment her killer, a man named Rodriguez III went back on his plea deal, so the prosecutors were actually happy, since it meant they could throw it out and go for the death penalty, he's been on death row ever since waiting for his lethal injection.
Just looked it up, he was already executed
Ryan hey bruh im sorry that happened
Ryan shit man, I'm sorry that happened
Was he your dad
Just Googled it. Sorry that happened man.
My uncle was missing for like 10 or 15 years. A few years ago he just turned up at my grandmothers door only to pass away a week later.
I'm so sorry

What type of mother leaves her children with an abuser? How can you continue to live your life knowing that you have kids that could be in danger. She never even took a time to reach out...
back in october a girl from wisconsin, just a few hours away from me, went missing. her parents had been murdered and she disappeared. her name was jayme closs. she was the fbi’s biggest missing person case. everyone thought the girl was gone for good until she was found alive in january. she had escaped her kidnapper. she was found in gordon wisconsin, just a few hours away. to me, the scariest part is that i went to school with the kidnapper, and the house he held her in was just a few minutes away from my old one.
that was creepy. but you didn't decide to investigate or feel like something was wrong🤔🤔
@@SapphireStar28 It's the police's job to investigate. The kidnapper hid her extremely well and had measures to try to ensure she couldn't escape.
I remember that missing persons case... So glad they found her alive💚💜💛💙❤

So lucy left her kids with a violent man for years instead of calling the police? What a great mother....
"Your mom is dead"
And that was that, goodbye mom
Wow that woman left an abusive relationship but left her daughter there.
Abandonment 101
In some cases is due to economic violence... she probably would have not be able to feed herself so taking her children would have led them to homelessness and death.
@@mamooni She literally was able to find herself a man and make 2 new kids while she was away, I'm pretty sure that's FAR from the case 💀

I don’t know what’s scarier: that missing people might just be dead or they might just be alive

That first statement just isn’t true. If you have sufficient reason to believe somebody is missing/has been kidnapped, then you need to tell the authorities. The longer you wait, the harder it’ll be to find them.
