No, they are more resourceful and a consequence of that is that they are potentially far more dangerous. You cannot prevent everyone from being bribed, or prevent them from being represented by the best lawyers but you can change the minds of the public. That a certain amount of caution should always be used against these people. Just in case. Because right now, this is the only measure immediately available. A number of rich and powerful men benefit from these safeguards that are accessible only to them. We cannot get rid of them, the mountain is too big of a hurdle to climb, but as long as there are vigilant people everywhere. Their mistakes can become visible.

He is now a long distance truck driver. He rescued a dog that is now his service dog. I heard he and the kids suffered psychologically after this incident.

This happened in Chowchilla, CA. I still can remember when it occurred back in the the 70s. I was the same age at the time as that 14 yr old kid who helped them escaped. I never realized how bad it really was for the bus driver and all those children. They could've all died because of the kidnappers. Glad they were all caught.

I went to the school where this took place. My teacher would always talk about this once a year. It's such an interesting story and crazy that something like that happened at my school.
I was scared that trailer was gonna give in and the kids buried alive.. that ending relieved me. The parents should have sued the inheritance from that pos.

I remember reading about this years ago and seeing a Criminal Minds episode inspired by it. Great animated re-enactment, but the only thing is you were way off with the perpetrators ages at the end. One of the brothers was in his late 50s when he was paroled, the other got out in his early 60s and the last one will be 72 for his next parole hearing.
I've heard so many stories of serial killers, mostly due to creepypasta narrators on UA-cam who are now starting to read IRL stories about real murders. THIS story is possibly the worst story I've ever heard. This is the most horrible and evil thing I have ever witnessed.

This was one of many reasons my mom made sure my brother and I had self-defense training. As well as drilling us on escape and evade tactics. Of course with my little brother's multiple mental problems meant it would only really be a matter of waiting till his meds ran out for him to drive the kidnappers absolutely insane and create an opening for me if it had ever happened. Despite hearing this case before, a few times, I really enjoyed your rendition of it. This was an excellent, informative, entertaining, and respectful presentation and did a great job at highlighting the wonderful display of bravery and perseverance of all of the victims, but especially that of Mike and Ed! That community was lucky to have Ed!

Mike is a real hero, he saved almost 30 kids lives and his bus driver, i hope they give him a huge award , like just a 14 year old boy thats really scary but im glad they are alive

I went to the school where this took place. My teacher would always talk about this once a year. It's such an interesting story and crazy that something like that happened at my school.

I bought the book about this incident gor $1 in 1985 and just wore it out. Back then there was no onternet and microfiche was nauseating. It is sad that California and the Feds failed the survovors and the community.

not gonna lie, I was expecting the children and Ed would die but thank god all of them managed to survive in the end. Kudos to Ed and Mike too for managing to still be calm in the midst of it all. F to those three men. they should have just rot in prison for traumatizing those children
My dad was one of the kids on the bus, he was stuck for 3 days and it is interesting how people are still talking about it. It has been decades.

@@好吧-h6k Only the extremely wealthy, and it only worked in a very small number of places. As I recall, they were large enough that you had to install it in a car. Technically, only as portable as a car. (can you take your car inside a building? lol) Most people did not know that they existed.
By the late 1980's, they were almost "truly" portable. But they were still large and had a short battery life.
My father had a "bag" phone in the 1990's. This was decent, but it was useless unless you put an antenna on the roof and plug it into the "cigarette lighter". Late 1990's, he got the legendary Nokia 3320. That was glorious.
He loaned it to me and my brother when we went to School events (like out of town games). Having a cell phone then was not exactly "cool", most thought my parents were being weird by giving it to me. (Times do change, LOL)

I think I remember from another iteration of this story that they had gambling debts, possibly to people you would not want to owe 5 cents to.
Often they get an alliwance but it's not enough for their tastes. Some greedy richkids have murdered their parents rather than wait for their inheritance
I saw another video on this topic apparently they were in a debt of 2.5 million they asked for 5 million so that they will not go into debt again

My aunt grew up in Fresno and after she divorced my uncle she and 3 of my cousins all moved back to Fresno. My aunt refused to let my cousins ride the bus because this story had scared the snot out of her as a kid.
Investigation discovery has a great episode of one of their shows on this incident. It includes an interview with the older kid who saved them all before they were crushed. A remarkable story!!! Mass kidnappings do happen but are rare for obvious reasons...

Every time my child is put on a bus I pray for a safe return sending our children away in this crazy world you have to stay prayed up. Thank God those babies escaped.

I actually remember a Lifetime movie about this. I remember watching it and often thought back on it when riding the bus

I remember reading about this years ago and seeing a Criminal Minds episode inspired by it. Great animated re-enactment, but the only thing is you were way off with the perpetrators ages at the end. One of the brothers was in his late 50s when he was paroled, the other got out in his early 60s and the last one will be 72 for his next parole hearing.
I've heard so many stories of serial killers, mostly due to creepypasta narrators on UA-cam who are now starting to read IRL stories about real murders.
THIS story is possibly the worst story I've ever heard. This is the most horrible and evil thing I have ever witnessed.

This was one of many reasons my mom made sure my brother and I had self-defense training. As well as drilling us on escape and evade tactics.
Of course with my little brother's multiple mental problems meant it would only really be a matter of waiting till his meds ran out for him to drive the kidnappers absolutely insane and create an opening for me if it had ever happened. Thankfully it never did... but the drills were actually kind of fun.

I'm glad this story had a happy ending. I was sure all of them were going to die and this was going to be a tragic story. The three guys who did this should have been executed. I don't care that the children survived, the kidnappers would have definitely killed them all or they would have all suffocated.
