This is so easy compared to fed ex loading we have rollers we have to push the packages down ourselves I work at a station where the packages fly down onto the rollers at about 15 mph+ very heavy packages mostly wine and we have to scan them with 20 year old scanners
Yep. I work for FedEx also. The only good thing I have to look forward to when I go in is hoping I get a truck with a belly. My load rate is always over 600 when I have that type of truck. But when you have the truck with the standing type rollers boy does it suck.
And the piece of crap scanner will lie and say it's battery power is at 100 percent but 45 mins later it dies when there are a million boxes coming down the shoot at your heaviest moment conveniently. Then you leave to get another and have to wait for it to update and when you come back the boxes are EVERYWHERE but on the rollers. You're trying to clean up the mess scan and stack at the same time while boxes are flying down, smashing into your legs, tripping you.......it's so much fun
So fun and I used to do the morning and load small trucks where I had 5 to do while everyone else had 3 during peak which was insane that's why I switched to night shift.
It's just a shit job not many hours non stop hard labor with one break and they make sure to finish right before we would lunch so they overload us all day
@@Drinqin I'd love to go to the small trucks. I'm on Twilight in the huge trucks. Sometimes he's got me covering 3 at the same time which is ok as long as they're trucks with the belly. I dread coming in, opening up the door and seeing the ones with the standing rollers.........or the belly trucks without the flaps in the back. I know I'm in for a long shift when I get those two types of trucks. I guess I'm a go to guy now because I don't see anyone else covering 3.........if I have a truck with a belly and it has ALL the flaps I can easily do 600 pph.....as long as I have my monster energy drinks lol. I'm obsessed with my load rate and always make sure I pause my scanner while moving from one truck to another or screwing with those damn south shore boxes. Any down time at all and I make sure I pause it
If y'all think he's working hard don't apply to UPS or FedEx. At the pace he's moving the walls should be perfect. You should try using your load stand for its purpose instead of proping your phone on it.

Fatigued?? You better believe it. But I work for FedEx and my lower back hurts so bad after 10 hours hunched over scanning boxes. Its constant hunching over and scanning then stacking, then hunching over again. Your lower back is in agony after 10 hours of that and yeah you're fatigued......but I'm also 42
Thank you! Me too. It's horrible. The scanners are garbage and ALWAYS go out on you at the worst time, like when you have a million boxes coming down the shoot. And by the time you leave, get another one and wait for the piece of shit to update you come back and it's an absolute cluster#$%*...........

I just stated Monday 9/28/2020 I got my position as black belt scanner/loader the loader seems easy but the scanner part don't really understand I don't know at every ups if it the same but where the belt is at one side is Dallas and other side is Louisville and it switches in Friday the the other side. But what I don't understand how can u tell what packages go where I don't get the IP and IS I know they will tells us how to do it Monday when we actually do more work I just want to know a head of time to get a more understanding. How scanner people know where to put the packages at without looking at the device. They just check the label and they automatically know where to put them and I'm at a center hub and airport warehouse for ups I scan/load packages into cans then the cans go on the airplane
they actually train you for a week straight on the "science of loading" theres actually a legit and effective way to load but at the end of the day you lose those principals when your shoot gets backed up lol

Once you work there you realize that you should never ship anything that can break easily or has value. My favorite UPS loading stories: 1. Box broke open in my arms and I picked up a vacuum sealed bag that fell out. I looked at what was inside the vacuum sealed bag and it was a dead cat. 2. Box broke open on the high conveyor and our high pick sent the contents inside the box to every trailer he could. I was laughing my ass off when like 3 dildos came sliding down the chute. 3. I found a package addressed to my high school teacher. I worked at a hub 80 miles away from my high school. Wish I had a sharpie on me at the time.
As far as I recognise these packages they are amazon packages, in there is all the cheap stuff from amazon and ups deliver it to the amazon storages after that it will be delivered to the customers by the driver we know in smaller boxes. Greetings from herne hub in germany
Ups is not a hard job. If you have the will power and want good benefits and have a good foundation behind you that will support you. You will go far. Its just getting your body use to the work and being use to moving. I have been 5 years and still going. I am a witness and to if you work you get rewarded and I have gotten several employee of the month shirts and other things. You just have to have the will to want to work.
I was cap 2 as well 😭😂 I quit not because it was tiring at all but because it was so damn boring, co workers were shit at doing their part, and management was just not guiding me as a new hire so i was like yea no

Your lucky you got to work at this pace my boss is the biggest douchbag in the world and wouldn’t have been like speed it up and be like we’re suppose to pack out 200 boxes in a hour knowing some the boxes were about 80-100 pounds.

Yall ever work for target or walmart warehouse??? I did youll be fired going that speed lmao plus your not just loading one trailer at a time. Your loading 5 - 10 at a time going across the trailer to trailer trying to keep up other wise youll be the reason the belt will stop for the whole warehouse 😂... shit sucked and embarrassing but it happens
(For Target) The pay starts at 15/Hr after your 90 days and if you get hired on from there you get bumped up to 17/Hr with 50 cents raises every 6months i believe... (for walmart) the starting pay is 17/hr
Its the same in ups ,u have to scan them first then load them , if u scan a box and it says do not load, make sure u put the box outside the trailer soo the supervisor can take it to the correct trailor
Wheres ur scanner? It would be nice to just load. Bruh, stop thinking about where to put the package. Scan and load. Or in ur case grab and load. In any case, good for u.
As a fellow loader, dude, you could 110% get fired for this. Filming of any packages is apparently grounds for “immediate termination”

Do all package handlers have to load trailers at some point or is this a "loading package handler" specific job ?
Nope sometimes you get stuck either loading or unloading
I get assigned to something different everyday but sometimes I would do this.
I just had interview Tuesday they said they would call me how long does it usually take??
within a week
PSN ItzKota- Aye did you get the job?
Well I'm with fedex and about 2 days after the interview you get an email directing you to complete a background check. Once you've done that the process is quick
I am also considering to work there (living in Germany). Are you fatigued after a shift?
fatigue yes but ready to go after a rest
Fatigued?? You better believe it. But I work for FedEx and my lower back hurts so bad after 10 hours hunched over scanning boxes. Its constant hunching over and scanning then stacking, then hunching over again. Your lower back is in agony after 10 hours of that and yeah you're fatigued......but I'm also 42
Im confused here. I work at the Orlando hub and we have to scan packages before we load them.
Thank you! Me too. It's horrible. The scanners are garbage and ALWAYS go out on you at the worst time, like when you have a million boxes coming down the shoot. And by the time you leave, get another one and wait for the piece of shit to update you come back and it's an absolute cluster#$%*...........
Andrew Rau ikr! What I usually do is get to work early and find a good scanner and I’ll grab a few batteries for the scanner.

I hope they have me doing this! I have a interview tomorrow
good luck you can do it too
When you are a loader, do you scan them before picking up or do you just load/stack them without scanning?
depends what you are loading. We scan and then load
It depends where you’re at, at my place they just have you load
This job sucks trust me I know been at ups for a year now I load everyday in this hot ass weather out here in California
That's pretty cool you lasted a year though.
Shoot, try doing it in AZ. Warehouse ain't for everyone, including myself. But it pays my bills so I gotta discipline the shit outta myself and suck it up as it's the easiest job to find out here.
Ill take your job if you don't want it. I been seasonal doing every position and I keep seeing them hire relatives and friends of full timers while overlooking better qualified and highly motivated individuals. Sick of this shit. I hope this interview with Fed Ex goes through.
@dillanskii It says $13 an hour...
@Apex I get $17 an hour at target working 4 10 hour shifts.
They just check the label and they automatically know where to put them and I'm at a center hub and airport warehouse for ups I scan/load packages into cans then the cans go on the airplane
it has something to do with zipcodes and dont worry they didn't start off knowing its something you get used to
Do you have to put stuff in order or do you just got to make stuff fit ?
Just make stuff fit
they actually train you for a week straight on the "science of loading" theres actually a legit and effective way to load but at the end of the day you lose those principals when your shoot gets backed up lol

Once you work there you realize that you should never ship anything that can break easily or has value. My favorite UPS loading stories:
Hilarious 😂
