    I just finished my first day as a package handler. It’s a Side gig for me just to buy shoes and to loose maybe an extra 10 pounds I put on over the summer.What I can say is if you work out at least 3 times a week it’s a breeze... but if you don’t work out...hunny you’re in for a rude awakening. If this girly girl can do it y’all can too 💕

      vamia washington I’m 18 and I workout everyday lifting weights and I’m pretty nervous about the job because mostly everyone says it’s pretty hard on your body . Your like the first that says it’s a breeze , how many hours do you work a day ? Tips ?

      TigerGoesRawrr well it’s my third week and most people quit after a day. So if you make it past your first day you’re golden. I do a lot of cardio so it was easy for me to keep a good pace but baby I was sore. Being that you lift weights you may not be as sore as I was, and if you experience any soreness your recovery time should be quick. Only tip I have is lift with your legs. Cus if you’re bending over to pick up boxes your back is going to hurrrrt super bad I think i covered all of your questions feel free to ask more if need be

Often you all have jobs that break backs and cause much depression and under appreciation. There are many of us wives who do appreciate the sacrifices of their husbands boyfriends or children's father's, fathers themselves. I used to load (IC load too) and pretty much mastered it before I became a facer at my Fedex ground station. Its honestly not that hard, its just a game of tetris and knowing where to put certain boxes at. But yeah, they banned phones at my station and are still cracking down on people who bring them in. The downside is they dont train people the right way anymore at my station, they have other loaders do the training and they did away with ops managers who would train people. Its evident with who was trained by a ops manager (me) vs someone who wasn't.

    • @andrewrau7516
      @andrewrau7516 4 роки тому +1

      Not just knowing where to put certain boxes but also where the barcodes are on certain boxes. Having to flip the boxes up and down and sideways to find the barcode to scan will really slow you down. Once you've learned where the barcodes are on certain boxes your load rate will shoot up tenfold

At my place, the OPS manager nowadays will pick someone out and the sort manager has to approve. For facers, usually they want veteran package handlers to do it and people who show up on time/are always there. As far as the number of facers, it depends on the station/hub size. I heard one hub needs like 30 ish facers while mine only needs 3 to 4 as a minimum with a max of 7 in total. We run with 7 when we have extra facers or if we are heavy volume wise, otherwise, they risk being pulled down if staffing is low or not as heavy.

      Yep. I work for FedEx also. The only good thing I have to look forward to when I go in is hoping I get a truck with a belly. My load rate is always over 600 when I have that type of truck. But when you have the truck with the standing type rollers boy does it suck.

      And the piece of crap scanner will lie and say it's battery power is at 100 percent but 45 mins later it dies when there are a million boxes coming down the shoot at your heaviest moment conveniently. Then you leave to get another and have to wait for it to update and when you come back the boxes are EVERYWHERE but on the rollers. I know I'm in for a long shift when I get those two types of trucks. I guess I'm a go to guy now because I don't see anyone else covering 3.........if I have a truck with a belly and it has ALL the flaps I can easily do 600 pph.....as long as I have my monster energy drinks lol. 1. Box broke open in my arms and I picked up a vacuum sealed bag that fell out. I looked at what was inside the vacuum sealed bag and it was a dead cat.
    2. Box broke open on the high conveyor and our high pick sent the contents inside the box to every trailer he could. I was laughing my ass off when like 3 dildos came sliding down the chute.
    3. I found a package addressed to my high school teacher. I worked at a hub 80 miles away from my high school. Wish I had a sharpie on me at the time.

Your loading 5 - 10 at a time going across the trailer to trailer trying to keep up other wise youll be the reason the belt will stop for the whole warehouse 😂... shit sucked and embarrassing but it happens

      (For Target) The pay starts at 15/Hr after your 90 days and if you get hired on from there you get bumped up to 17/Hr with 50 cents raises every 6months i believe... (for walmart) the starting pay is 17/hr
