I actually just bought one of these refrigerators that's why I found your video. If the only reason for the wifi is if Somehow you can see the temperature wherever you are , I just don't the use of it. Even to adjust it, remotely. Things have truly gotten unnecessarily complex.
Thanks for the Video. You would think that the instructions on the Samsung Smart Things app will tell you to make sure the "CHILD / CONTROL LOCK" is not enabled. Remember, you had to enable/disable this to set your fridge to the right temperature. Once this is DISABLED, you can press the FRIDGE button (located inside the fridge, not on the outside - like the app shows) for 5 seconds and AP (I think this stands for Access Point?) will appear. Samsung should have stated to "locate the FRIDGE button...the FRIDGE button may be inside your door and also shows the current temperature". Lastly, most people may not realize that you need to be running a 2.4 GHz wireless connection that holds most of your other devices (Ring, Alexa and similar). If your home WiFi router only has a 5 GHz connection, you may need to enable 2.4 GHz. If you rent your router from your provider, then you would need to log into your router account/or call your provider to enable the 2.4 GHz connection. For me, Samsung would not use my 5 GHz connection. Sorry for the rant, it's just that this took me 20 minutes to set up when simple/clear instructions from Samsung would have made it easier. how do I turn the wifi OFF from the fridge? There is no reason a fridge needs to have any app or be depending on anything else. It should do basic things. Keep food under 40 degrees and freeze below 30 degrees...and have defrost capabilities and an ice maker! That's it. Samsung, corporations and the government has no need to know what i have in my fridge.
I’m at the last step we’re the fridge is getting the WiFi and it gets to 98% but it later says an error. Is it cuz my internet box has to be close to the fridge?
You will need actual wifi at home because the fridge will connect to it. The fridge doesn't come with wifi, it comes with an antenna near the left back of the unit.
hey is there a way you can do this for andriod? Also is there any router settings I need to do? because nothing is showing under WiFi after I do the AP
Yes, it's very similar setup with Andriod. You will probably need the wifi password to join the network so the app can connect to it. Please help with a thumbs up if this video helps so more people can watch it. Thanks.

@@WorldWebM I have the same refrigerator model as yours, having same problem, can't see refrigerator own network on wifi when the frig is in AP mode using both iphone or android. My frig only couple weeks old so i scheduled samsung service for next week.
@Ông Nôi' sorry went on Vacation didn't check messages, service came spent couples hours, finally he reset the wifi board and cycled power, smart things app connect right away. The wifi board is locate on the top front under the casing, remove 3 screws, you will see the wifi board on the left, press reset button. One it reset, the refrigerator broadcast its own network "Refrigerator(Samsung)". Follows the instructions from the app. Good luck. Does your refrigerator make clear ice cubes? My is cloudy white. Not sure why.

Like will it send me notifications I'm missing food items or food is going bad or what does do??? I dont usually get fancy stuff sense I dont see them as a necessity
Not very much help if you have an Android Phone, plus you have to set up a Samsung Account which blocked every email address we entered on my wife's I Phone !!! Thanks anyway.

It comes disabled until you pair it with the wifi.

It’s not enabled until you setup. Some people like the smart fridge to control operation of the fridge.

Interesting, I didn't having that issue. My internet wifi router was in a different room.

It’s super weird, I can’t install the right handle. The screw and the hole of the handle don’t matched. I installed the Other two handles very easily.
Maybe look online like ebay or vendor for the right screw.

It's wireless, you will have to sync with Apple/Android smartphone to use.

You will need actual wifi at home because the fridge will connect to it. The fridge doesn't come with wifi, it comes with an antenna near the left back of the unit.

Your fridge doesn't know your wifi info or password for sending out info. That's why you need to do the setup if you want that feature.
