I'd actually like to know some of the theory or principles perhaps of why these particular color stops, opacity numbers and layer effects were chosen. Is it just trial and error? 🤔

It is actually trial and error. I first followed it step by step but the colour I got was red and not golden so I tweaked everything- colour overlay, gradient overlay, opacity, blending mode, light direction, drop shadow and then I got my colour. So yes it is trial and error.

Great video but I don't think it works for all logos.....I've leant about the effect so thank you but finally I've blended a gold foil into it!
