There is an element of truth in this. However I think English is a rich language, read some of its poems, easy one such as Sonnet 18 - Shakespeare for example. We Russians have very different contexts and interpret metaphors differently as it is very much intertwined with out culture and attitude. So one can say that this can be translated word for word, but and English person will find it difficult to understand as the connotation is very lets say "Russian". P.S I love DDT
