  • If I were to sum up todays capture, it would be 'a bit disappointing'
Today Steam Dreams were operating their railtour from London Euston - Chester. The tour was to be worked by 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley on the outward leg, whilst a diesel would work the return leg of the tour to Euston.
For this tour, we went to Rugeley Trent Valley, chose this location because I had hoped it would come through at a great speed, they usually do to be fair, though unfortunately that wasn't to be the case for today. Sir Nigel Gresley was to be routed onto the fast line after Rugeley, why?
60007 had been halted at Curborough, it was following a Class 350 and running a little early which probably didn't help matters. When it appeared round the bend, its speed was just down to a crawl as the signal was still set to red. Then the signal changed with the feather showing for it to go onto the fast line, why it couldn't have just stuck to the slow line I'm not sure of. To make matters worse, a 350 pulled up on platform 3, dad was on that platform filming, he didn't really get a good shot though whilst it didn't matter too much to me as I still got a shot, I did feel sorry for the others on that platform.
I still got a fairly good shot, but still disappointed I didn't get it at a good speed, no chance of going out for the return leg as it will be diesel hauled from Crewe. Unfortunately, thats how it goes sometimes, its sods law.
