    This is really good quality for using a CD. I would be grateful if you could share your setup details. Are you embossing with the needle rotated?

    Thanks for the amazing and interesting video! Where can I buy new record cutting heads for this Gakken toy record maker? Blank vinyls and used CDs are easy to get, but cutting heads I have no idea.

      @@nnewt8445 I've long been interested in home recording & have indeed used an Edison Standard Phonograph to make recordings on wax cylinders, much as they did in the 1900's. I have no kids to keep me updated, but am certainly interested form of recording on stuff like old cd's etc. Like the acoustic 'cartridges' I viewed on your channel!

    Thing is, why waste a good CD on this, when the spindle-pack of 50 blank CDs have a clear plastic disc at the bottom of the stack that you could use. Some of those plastic discs are also black! Fun fact! When Emile Berliner first invented his disc-playing gramophone, the discs were the same diameter as the modern Compact Disc, and were only recorded on one side.

    • @e-marketingtoday4849
      @e-marketingtoday4849 3 роки тому +1

      Yes, when I'm embossing my playback level is low, when i turn it up i get quite a bit of background/surface noise. but yours seems very clean even when you crank it up.

    First of all, you're holding the tone arm incorrectly. You must always use the lever on the outside to lift and gentley place the tone arm on the record.
