He, Frank, that outro for Kushiro was different for you and I like it! You are so focused on ramen, but the outro gives you an opportunity to feature other facets of the place you are visiting.
Glad you enjoyed the outro! There usually isn't too much time tor me to showcase things outside of ramen shops...so I'm glad I could squeeze a bit in before leaving Kushiro!
Hi Frank….this was an amazing series. Thank you for all the hard work you put into this from getting to try and enjoy bowls and bowls of ramen to editing your videos. I cannot pick a fav…..I adore ramen..period. 😊🇨🇦
Thank God for another 5 AM Ramen review video! Watching this 9am, before breakfast, is not easy, looking at those delicious bowls and hearing your descriptions. Thank you for the Hokkaido ramen series.
We stumbled upon Kawamura Ramen after watching a fireworks display during the summer of 2022. My wife and I both really enjoyed a quality bowl of local ramen at a very reasonable price.
Kawamura ramen sounds great, it's so good you visited them despite the seemingly negative reviews. I hope they get a better rating after your review! Another amazing review video Frank!
Am I missing something? I havent been seeing your reviews for awhile. What happened? Glad to see your reviews again and the snow makes it nice, as it is over a 100 degrees here daily.....whew
Thank you for the great content and love the videos. Would be interested to know your rating on each of the bowls you tried and/or your must visit, highly recommended bowls too. Similar to Dave Portoy's one bite pizza reviews.
As always, thank you for watching! I normally don't do reviews like that, one reason being that I'm very deep in the ramen world and am careful about any criticism (if there is any). But I totally understand - that would make it perhaps more interesting and even fun 😃
This is going to be a long comment. 😅 I am catching up on YT videos and I'm happy to see this one. Kushiro might not be known for a lot, but it was our introduction to Japan, in many ways. We flew into Tokyo, but flew out the next day to Hokkaido. Kushiro was our home base for birdwatching in the area. And 30 minutes into the mountains there are places to watch the Red-crowned Cranes. We also visited the harbor to see many kinds of ducks and a snow filled forest to visit 2 owls in their roost. Every morning I started the day with a simple bowl of frizzy noodle ramen from the hotel breakfast bar. Not terribly adventurous, but different enough for me to seem exotic. 😅 The bus terminal was the first place we had a meal too. We ate a delicious grilled fish (sanma/pacific saury) donburi at one on the stalles. I understand in the summer they have barbecue stalles set up along the riverfront. I hope to go back someday and hope you will too.
Wow, thanks for sharing! It's nice to know that Kushiro holds a special place in your heart 😃 Those wetlands are famous and my only regret was not being able to see more of the local scenery, bird watching and wetlands included. I'm usually moving quite quickly when I'm traveling for ramen. Very happy though to hear that you enjoyed some local ramen at the hotel breakfast bar. That grilled fish donburi sounds like it was a grand too. I'm sure I'll be back one day and from the way you fondly speak of Kushiro, I'm sure it'll be the same for you!
I watched all of ur ramen videos....Question: how do you not get a belly eating soo much ramen Frank? what's ur secret? i love ramen too but afraid of weight gain
Hi Frank, love your videos. I doubt you'll read this but if you do I have a question.. I read/hear that Ichiran is overrated and is bland compared to local restaurants (but they never specify which restaurants are better). What are your thoughts on this?
I'm reading it now 😃. Feel free to watch my Ichiran video...I address some of the things you mentioned: ua-cam.com/video/OvBcCNEtpcM/v-deo.html I personally like Ichiran but nostalgia is a big part of that. There are def better bowls of tonkotsu (pork bone) ramen out there...but Ichiran is a fun experience (the booths, overall vibe). I think it just depends on what one's looking for there.
Hey Frank, I was trying to find a style of ramen I saw on one of your videos. It was a ramen that was topped with a massive mound of bean sprouts and pork back fat. Do you happen to know which style this is ?
What do you think about Kushiro and its ramen? Let me know!

It's a gazillion degrees in Los Angeles, and a new ramen shop just opened near me, but I just can't. Damn you!😂😂😂
Haha, sorry sorry. Would be nice if they installed a chute for quicker access there from your house 😀
Wow, this one has been sitting on the back burner for a while, lol! Always up for some Ramen.
That back burner gas really run up the gas bill 😅
Thanks for waiting and watching!
i can't wait to get there in sept and the different ramen...besides what we get here in the USA.....
So soon - right around the corner!

Def hard for me a fto pick a favorite too..
Always hungry after watching one of your vids....lol. thank you for sharing.
Thank you for watching!
That was 30 bowls of deliciousness in about a week in freezing Hokkaido? That steamed bun looked pretty darn good too😋
Yes, was there for a week! 30 bowls and some random other food like the streamed buns...that was my official last meal in Hokkaido at the airport 😊
😋those steam buns are my favorite@@5AMRamen

That's neat you've been! Summer is the best in Hokkaido...I imagine you both enjoyed the fireworks and cooler weather.
Thanks for the review, Frank! Hope you and yours are doing well.

Hey Frank, the ramen🍜🍜tours must be hopping!! Wish you could incorporate some of your tours into your videos.
Yes, things are super busy with the tours!! Maybe in a future video we can do a ramen tour 😉
beautiful 🍜
Indeed!

As always, thank you for watching! Yes, hopefully people aren't put off by those reviews and this video in a small way can make a difference 😉

I have been bad about uploading...but after Sept will be able to get back to it! Thanks for watching and stay cool out there 😊
Ramen for breakfast is the movie.
Haha, yes.

@@5AMRamen I hope to return. 😊
Fantastic series, Frank. What’s next?!
Working on a Kyushu series (Fukuoka and Saga)! Episode 1 will be up in 2 weeks or so 😉
might never come here glad i can at least watch you enjoy the ramen here 😅
With your ramen crushing, I wouldn't be surprised if you ended up here at one point 😉
I watched all of ur ramen videos....Question: how do you not get a belly eating soo much ramen Frank? what's ur secret? i love ramen too but afraid of weight gain
I was gonna do a video about exactly that one of these days! For one, I walk a lot and am very active overall.
Frank, this Hokkaido series is going on for like two years. Is it snowing there all year around? 😂
Lol. You would think I moved to Hokkaido. From Sept I'll be putting out more videos regularly!
good stuff!
Thanks for watching!

Sounds like Jiro style ramen!
@@5AMRamen thank you, that was it!
i think i prefer light ramen
We are of the same thinking
Frank are you full Japanese?
I'm actually not Japanese at all - but I grew up in Japan!
