- Here's a process of making a large oval pot for a bonsai tree or a forest. I am planning to plant a spruce forest in this pot in the spring.
The process was documented and shared with you so you can learn how to make it easily yourself. I used slab bottom and coiled the walls. The feet were made out of coils too. I used cone 6 black clays, PSH 401i and will likely leave it unglazed.

At Gaean Gardens we share our experiences of cultivating a healthy lifestyle in accord with our human nature and respect for the planet Earth. Each and every one of us deserves to live a life fulfilled, being present in every single thing we do. To live a healthy life requires similar work to that of a gardener- we need to tend to our needs and keep our best interest at heart daily. The results take many years to show the full splendour of our actions, but they are unmistakable.
Cultivating bonsai trees is a wonderful way to enrich our lives, connect to nature and find joy and purpose. Bonsai teaches us about the rhythms of the seasons, how living organisms grow and react to their environment and has countless benefits for our mental health. Nowadays, more than ever, bonsai is an achievable hobby available to anyone who is willing to commit to learning and caring for a tree. Making a bonsai pot for our trees makes it a rewarding experience because not only we can design and choose the shape and size of the pot, but also we put our energy into creating a loving home for tree companions.
