巌窟王は高校生のとき友人に勧められてハマったアニメ。30過ぎた今でも見たくなる。
日本のアニメでこれ以上の美を見せてくれるアニメをまだ知らない。
さまざまな人間の心理が描かれていて、ちょっと怖いのについつい見てしまうアニメで好きでした。
映像もキャラクターが美しく魅力的で、色彩もいつもとても綺麗だなと見ていました。
アニメにハマってしまい、原作の小説を読みフランス🇫🇷文学に興味を持ちました。
This trailer was on my copy of Petite Cosette, and I couldn't stop watching it because it looked amazing.

Yeah and now that I notice, the character design is quite different compared to that in the series, so this trailer was probably made as a kind of pilot, maybe months before the production of the anime even began.

this movie was excellent. The artwork is extremely impressive and the music is fantastic!

Dude. Although there was a crap load of contrast with the book, this series was amazingly epic.
Despite the contradiction of the anime with the novel, it is one of the greatest anime throughout history

@Writermist Pretty much I recommend you to eithr buy or look for the manga of this series since it was used as a promotion to the anime. The manga is about 15 chapters long or so which gives details about the demon gankutsuou, edmonds time in the chateau dief and where edmond managed to get all the gold he has. The main difference is albert is only in 2 chapters and the count attacks the villefort family in a much more violent fashion. Also the count seems to have more "powers" than the anime

My father gets motion sickness so bad that he gets sick watching someone walk on a treadmill. Gankutsuou probably would make him throw up.
It took me the entire series to get used to the visual style, but now I love it! One of my favorites.

This is an adaptation. Count and Haydee stay together in the book and in the anime the count died. If they were to follow the main story, of course they would change secondary characters.
I love The Prisoner of Château d'If (Узник замка Иф) for focusing too much but in Edmond and Haydeeque get together, I watch gankutsuou because it's a creative adaptation.
@Writermist I hope its not 2 late 4 an answer. I just happened to stumble upon the trailer. The scenes shown in the trailer were unused footage such as early sketches & some were early scrapped ideas since some animation were story elements from the 3 vol manga which I recommend those 3 volumes are must reads. If you look closely some animation is reused when in ep3 when count enters room or when he goes to the opera in ep6 I think Most of this trailer is used in the closing song in out of order
@Ndesire Gankutsuou was amazing! You should totaly watch it. The costumes and setting is absolutely gorgeous and its a classic plot for revenge. You become attatched to Edmond and the Count. You dunno who to root for honestly lolz ^^ hoped I helped you reach a conclusion to whether or not to watch :)
You know...a lot of these scenes never actually showed up in the anime...
Yeah, during every episode I wanted so badly to see more of him! Didn't care about Albert and other subplots, the Count was at the centre of all, even with such a small amount of screen time. So please now remake the story with the Count as main character :D
They ended up not making Eugenie a lesbian, although the trailer tells me they were planning on it :)

Why is the animation in this trailer much better than in the actual anime? Seriously, the clothing and the hair feel more natural than they do as wallpaper.
Also, 1:13 was never in the anime! Wonder if it was a deleted scene or something.

theres a movie called the count of monte cristo...not an anime and not at all based on the anime...it's from the book but loosely based

I think the missing scenes are just some takes which were eventually not used for the final editing of the series, but were used for this trailer. This often happens in cinema as well, probably these scenes don't fit into the story but are good for marketing/commercial purposes (e.g. kiss between young Edmond and Mercedes can attract romance fans).
They were developing it from the manga, which included all these scenes. I read it as well and it would have been a different take for sure. In the end, both are good

I will, i just went to my local library and put it on hold (its checked out) i can't wait to read it. I saw the real life movie...is that close to the book?

Well, if it helps, Netflix has them all in English on instant watch. Personally, the voice cast wasn't so bad in my opinion.
It's sadly not on Netflix anymore, but it's definitely worth getting on dvd or bluray. The guy who voices the Count did an amazing job.

No i cant say i have read the book....sadly. Should i look into that? because im a huge book lover. Of course the anime will be a bit differen't i suppose. Not everyone will LOVe it but alot sure do XD
