- A tribute to my namesake and favorite character in film, Jason Lee's Brodie Bruce from 1995s "Mallrats". Presented chronologically, what I consider to be every 'punchline' Brodie delivered.

Mallrats is maybe the most underrated film in Kevin Smith's repertoire :")
I honestly think it's the best of the kevin smith films. Jason Lee steals the show and its awesome

I don't think it's a generation thing at all. I guess I'm skirting the edge of "Internet generation" and was definitely not hanging at malls as a teen but the movie is just funny.

@@heggy_69 They have a common cousin: the Walter that Brodie mentions here was also mentioned by Randall in Clerks. I'm not sure if the comics explicitly confirm their relation specifically (they could have a common cousin but not be cousins themselves) or just that the cousin Walt is indeed the same.
Yeah they are cousins . there's a diagram that connects the viewaskew universe on the DVD release of chasing Amy.
Randal, Brodie, Holden, Banky and Jay & Silent Bob are the best characters in the Askewniverse. If I had to pick one, It'd be Brodie Bruce all the way.

@@HoustonT17 I think that they both need a more annoyed and down to earth friend in order to work comically on the long term. Without people to annoy I don't think Randall would be as funny, he would just be speechless, and TS gave Brodie a goal. The two together would just awkwardly deliver unearned punchline wihtout facing adversity.

Missed what is probably the best Brodie line in the movie. When he shakes hands with, and stinkpalms, Mr. Svenning and says, "Wow! Would you feel that iron grip handshake! Like Burt Reynolds and shit", and the whole 'chocolate covered pretzel' thing.

@@stanleyshady9465 that’s not bad for “back in the days” lol gigli got like a 3%. This has a 57% which means 43% didn’t like. More people liked it than didn’t. So therefore it’s not considered that bad. Also critics are a joke, look at all the audience scores. That’s what really counts

I said out of all of Kevin Smiths movies.. I said Theatrical reviews, you pulled 57% from Rotten fuckin Tomatoes' current rating? Really? 1, their ratings aren't even accurate by any standards.. and 2, 57 is still bad
Brodie was the best thing about Mallrats, completely overshadowed T.S. in my opinion.
T.S. is honestly fucking terrible. Every time he opens his mouth it almost ruins the scene.

So like if this were a developing comic... Then Silent Bobs lil sis Storey who hung out way too much with Jay.. Her arch Rival is Brodie.. For her turned into a shit stain that lives down the street from the vintage faire Mall and from me who lives closer to the Mall... My true friends who were known mainly for hanging out in front of a liquor store.... They sell magazines and Porno magazines there but at many stores they weren't clear so in Storey travels to New England she met this dude who called her Stoney he's from Boston... & now there they have a sign ya can't buy pornography with their EBT cards... I was freaked out man... They put a sign I must get back to explain to my friends at the California liquor store they can't purchase Pornography with their FoodStamps... My Friend Jay who is disposed to treat me like a sister... I had to run and stop him before he got in trouble they almost got him once for pissing at the park... He pretended to a pharaoh from American Graffiti... It isn't fair though he actually said when they threw us in back of the police car together! What the fuvk he do officer the cop made jokes at me, and said don't try to be a hero! Later he got off on the charge... I explained what was happened. Currently in Massachusetts...since we have known each other for years! I was horrified at the thought of him going down again for such ridiculous offenses... I get the girl got offender when offered to take her out to eat with his food stamp card... But she was hooker under cover police... They were now gotcha Jay buying Pornography with your Food stamps... Bitch jay said I was eating New England Clam chowder not you!! I need to call my Attorney Storey... She doesn't say anything how do you plan to get out of jail... She plead the fifth and I have a right to have your public's pretender all she has to do is show up...
