  • Today's video is a continuation of my previous video. It's all about Leader Body Language! And specifically we're focusing on how to use good posture, how to lean in during conversations to show interest, and what to do with your hands when standing and sitting. 👇 NEW Product Recommendations below 👇
    These are very common questions for emerging leaders so if you've asked yourself these questions too, this video is for you! These body language gestures will help you to look confident in business, to look confident as a leader, and also to look interested or approachable at work. Body language is a critical part of your overall communication. If you want to succeed as a leader, you really need to understand the body language for leaders.

    Thanks for offering the option of asking a question :) - How do I stop gesturing all over the place with my hands and arms? If you could share some tips that would be very helpful. Thank you!

    • @kararonin
      @kararonin  2 роки тому +2

      Haha! I have this problem too. Especially if I'm excited or passionate about something. And if I feel the other person is drifting away, I tend to use more hand gestures to get their attention! I think the first step is to become conscious of it (clearly you are). Then you can try clasping your hands when either sitting or standing. This will keep them together and help them stop flying around the place :) I'll keep this issue in mind and see if I can incorporate it in a future video.

    I have really appreciated the body language videos. I didn't know about "leaning in". Kara, how can be affected the body language by the different cultures? For example, personal space.

    • @kararonin
      @kararonin  Рік тому

      Personal space is important when thinking about cultural differences. Generally, people from Anglo-Saxon cultures like arms length personal space. Those from Latin & Asian countries prefer closer. This is a general rule that may differ from person to person. Try to gauge the right space by looking at whether the other person moves toward you or away from you in conversations.

      @@devendrakumar-mr7jn in the case of presentations, try moving your hand gestures around or usingdifferenthand gestures. It's true, if you only clasp your hands, you could look too static and maybe closed to the audience. Practice gesturing with open hand movements as you talk. You can copy what I do in the videos but it's important you find a style that feels natural to you. Natural is so important!

    i never seen leaders actually put their chins on their hands. they tend to hold their head still even if they do the steeple. it even looks weird when you did it. you looked too relaxed and a bit tired. i'd highly recommend against putting the chin on the hands.

    NEVER put your elbows on the table. Your underarm at max, letting it touch the table in the area right before the elbow - NOT the actual elbow itself ON the table. That reveals poor manners.

      I think this more likely applies when you are at a table in a restaurant or sitting at a dining table not an office desk.
