Why don’t you want a Suzuki motor?
We have been rigging them all with Yamaha's because they are far more common as factory options. We go with Merc's when they are our only choice. We'd prefer a Suzuki but to keep things fair we stayed as constant as possible.
I owned an 2018 Ranger Z520L....fiberglass cracked on both sides next to consoles and in the rear next to the jack plate.

My bank has a 2016 nitro z20,,,225 hp,,,only has 1.5 hours on it,,owner died and only used it twice,,it has been sitting dormant for 5 years,,,price is 36k,,,,what are chances of it sitting so long with old fuel might giveme issues,,,,

Bradford marine is the dealer at basspro and cabelas in Arkansas, I just bought one and had no trouble at all and I love the boat., besides that I would rather have a mercury pro xs than a Yamaha, my last boat had a Yamaha and I like this mercury better.

i been retired for 10 years, ive had new a Ranger r93 new back in 2000, nice boat buddy still has it, the waferboard under the front deck rotted out , i repaired it, great riding boat had this brittle sides was 1550 lbs vs my 2017 z18 a foot shorter weighs 1850, yeah my side steps finally cracked ill build some stainless ones at my buddys fab shop, have acess to lazer machine cad software etc. some of us like myself would not let anyone less than your caliber install graphs, when i do it its done right, bought the nitro in may of 2018 leftover 2017 they had for 27.900, with dual console, avg retail presently 30k, not because its a nitro but because of inflation lol, for an old retired fireman, single income family, a 6 year old to raise, he was 1 when i bought it, it fit my budget and was 100% better than the new Ranger tin boat i traded because the vexus guys built a terrible boat before they moved across the street. would i love to have a phoenix, a gambler, a Bullet or the rolls Royce the Ikon, sure, but will be 70 next month , dont need an 800 dollar a month note for my young wife to pay off when i pass. then my young son wont have a boat to fish out of. other than that Love you Bro! i watched how you got started, almost brought me to tears, but you stuck to your passion and i respect you more than you know, as a parent i dont drink, or use drugs either, but im still obcessed with boats and work on them often, maintain all my buddys boats, im a moderator in several large boat groups and help a bunch of those guys with tips on rigging , where to buy pretinned wire, what props work etc, Thank you for all you contribute to the boating world!
Edwin evers,KVD, Roland Martin,Ott Defoe, Rick Clunn all run nitro and these guys are some of the best in the industry.. do you really think that any of these guys would stick by nitro if they were "garbage cans"?! They can litterally run any boat they want because of who they are remember that amd they all are Loyal to nitro..not to mention they all put on thousands of miles a year on their "shit" trailers.🤣

Yea, because they get loaners and immediate issues fixed when something happens.
I was in the boat business for over 20 years. Saw the best and the worst of almost every brand out there. Sold 4-5 different brands of boats over the years. Sold new boats that came back in a year, looking like they were 20 years old......and ones that came back every year looking the same way......like they just came out of the factory. Here is the bottom line.......take care of your stuff. Service it, clean it, wax it, cover it, winterize it properly, (not by the hack down the street that does it for $50.00), keep it off the rocks......and if you do, the worst of anything will serve you well. Don't do it, and the best will fail you way before it's time. I own a Nitro with a Merc on the back, (which I said I would never own). It has served me well with no issues............because I take care of my stuff. You do the same, you will be a happy camper no matter which brand you buy.

Thanks guys...........every boat has issues, some more than others. But people think they are cars. Put fuel in them, maybe an oil change once in a while, and when you are done using them............forget about them until 6 mo. down the road and another season is upon them. Turn the key, it does not run right.......THIS BOAT IS A POS.............IT'S ONLY A YEAR OLD. Right! We then get them back..."who winterized this boat". WINTERIZE....what's that? Do you run stabilizer all year? Stabilizer? Did you run no tox through your water systems and wells. HUH? That deer in the headlight look. They pay to get these things fixed, and they blame the boat..................no matter what brand it is.
Been there with you guys..and I know there are better and worse brands out there...but a Maseratti will fall to pieces if you decide to go off roading with it. Or it will last a lifetime if you treat it like the piece of machinery it is designed for.......take care of it. Laugh at all your antics, because my husband and I have been in almost every situation you have discribed over 20+ years.

Dang.. I’m not feeling the love here! Haha! Seriously, my old Z8 has been great. It’s 10 years old and I’ve had it for 7. It was garage kept before I got it and that’s where it’s at right now. Gel coat still looks great, seats and carpet look new, and the trailers good togo. Now...I do take care of all my stuff. It’s always clean cause I don’t let it get hogged up. I’m the guy wiping my boat down with detailer in the parking lot. Having said that, I don’t “baby” shit. I lay the ears back on everything I drive! Im gonna have the boat 10+ years for sure... if it has issues by then... so be it, I got my $’s worth. Poor Boys 2 da Front!
You can go with the Z20 Pro and upgrade for a lot less than the price you got and I have no idea what "installation fees" you're talking about. If you don't like Nitro's just say so but your video is misleading to say the least. I just built one for about $7k less than the price you came up with...an actual boat someone could buy from me and not an imaginary one...
Okay we will say it...we do not like Nitro's and yes all they do is make imaginary boats because in reality they are just fiberglass garbage cans with decals on the sides! Hahaha We priced it off of their own website, sure people have gotten them for cheaper prices but maybe Nitro should fix the pricing on their glorious website! We get that there are a lot of Nitro guys that might watch this and end up with hurt feelings but we are just trying to hold these manufacturers accountable not the owners. At the end of the day we are all bass boat guys and the whole point is to have a great time and catch fish....we'd just rather not do it in a Nitro!
@@TeamMarineService this video is very misleading... if you want to do these "review" style videos you need to be knowledgeable and experienced with the products you're reviewing. It is clear you lack this.
i bought a new Z20 Pro new with more on it that you added and I only paid 63000 all in. Love the boat and in two years zero issues and I use it 4-5 times a week during the season. Take care of you equipment and it will take care of you. Fishability is great, price is awesome, and with the cost savings you can afford to fill it with all the tackle you want. In the end you just need to know how to catch fish the boat brand don't matter.
That's great to hear!! We just went off of Nitro's website as we do with all of the other brands. Where did you buy yours from? You're spot on with taking care of your equipment too...those are wise words that get unfortunately left by the wayside far too often.
@@TeamMarineService I ordered it through Vetesnik in Richland Center. On the Nitro pages I follow people seem to have better outcomes from dealers other than BP.
You still get what you pay for. Nitro's quality and re-sale are the lowest in the industry. Pull it with a Dodge truck and the two will match up great!
@@CAN43725 I am still going to stick up for them based on experience with the brand. I get in the past there have been issues, but if you look at current models they have come a long way. When I pay 20-25 less and I sell it for 20-25 less down the road vs a Ranger am I that much worse off? I didn't have to make payments and interest on that extra money when really the difference comes down to the hull. Everything on else on that boat you can see on every other brand. If I am correct I believe there are also more Nitro hulls sold than any other brand in the industry. The fit and finish on my boat was comparable to others I looked at. Fishability is solid, and its ride and performance is good. I understand I am not going to change many minds here, but fishing out of several other brands I have not been able to justify spending more at this point. Delamination, trailer issues, fading are common in other brands as well that don't sell as many boats and is easy to see if you follow brand pages. I also like the life time warranty on the hull. On another brand I owned I only had a 10 year warranty on the hull and after that I was on my own.
So I pulled out the paper work on my 2019 Z20. I bought the PRO because it came with a lot of the features I wanted at a better price. Merc 250 Pro XS, Atlas hydraulic jack plate, compartment fans, oxygen generators in the live wells, helix 9 at the bow, built in helix 10 at the console, added on an additional helix 10 ram mounted, passenger console, Minnkota Ultrex, kicker stereo, 12ft Talons, Mercury smart craft gauges, hotfoot, blinker controls, security system - after market, auto and manual bilge pumps, Loc-R-bar - after market, tilt brackets for Talons - after market, boat cover, out the door at 66500 tax, no trade in since I sold my other boat out right, install (by the dealer for the aftermarket and not Nitro). I do have to say I find it ridiculous they are charging you now to install a fish finder when they are building a boat, but I did not have those charges from Nitro. I enjoy watching all your videos, but just wanted to show a real life scenario and I understand you guys were keeping it the same across the board for comparison. I got my z20 pro for 53000.00 has everything you said except helix 10 And 9 on front and don’t have the fancy seat . It does have two consoles. Does have cover with it

Yes the old Skeeter I had was junk but it was the fact that Skeeter didn't even attempt to make it right...however from the looks of the new fxr models they seem to be okay!
I own the new 21 Skeeter and it’s outstanding doesn’t even come close to the nitro quality also the nitro does not have a good resell

Great point! Ranger in the past has been known for awesome customer service! I’m hearing that current year Ranger owners are struggling with customer service in the Johnny Morris era. Sad to say, but I’d not buy a Ranger new either! Basscat, Phoenix, Falcon, and Caymas would be amongst my choices.

Track/Nitro other company name is JUNK. White River Marine Group (Monopoly) has literally destroyed the way boats are made and have killed off a lot of brands. Word I am hearing they are going to be killing Triton in the next couple of years. I will take a used mid to late 00's Ranger, Stratos, Basscat, Champion or Triton before I buy a new Nitro!

Yes it is I heard they are taking the Triton hull and changing the name to Nitro Elite. Ranger pro staff being cut by over 2/3 rds is a sign they are the next one going out. I knew Johnny would keep Ranger around for a while because of Forest Wood and the following that Ranger has. As soon as Forest passed away my dad and me both said Ranger will start to be phased out.
I am on my second Nitro both have been flawless. The 2020 Z20 I have now has been great. I added all my graphs, 5 in total a Minn Kota Ultrex 36v trolling motor a heck of a lot cheaper than BPS prices. The thing I can agree with you on is their trailer are just a notch above junk. Thankfully I have added steel support welds under the steps.

I own a 2010 Z9 w/250 ProXs. Power poles pro series and an 112 Ultrex. I have a gator hull on mine and she will still run 70MPH. I keep her covered, clean, and all the maintenance up. I’ve had more issues with accessories over the years then with my boat. I fish Lake Sam Rayburn and that lake can get pretty rough and my Z9 has never let me down. Kind of hard to see me paying 60k-100k for a new boat when mine is paid for and performs just as good as the newer boats.
The nitro z21 pro package is 59k with the poles a solix 12 and a solix 10 and already have the ultrex. Nobody ever gets all the add on you put on it. So the price is a little inflated in your video. Also lifetime warranty on the hull for any problem. I own a nitro z21 and I do not have any problems with it. I love mu nitro
Can't complain about that price right there. We are spec'ing out all of these rigs the exact same or as close as we can get them to what a competitive tournament ready boat would have in our opinion. This is great news that your boat is solid and that you are liking it! 👍🏻

2021 Nitro Z19 with Garmin 10" and going to add (already have) 9" Garmin with panoptix Garmin Force 10' Power Poles Fish attractor premium paint carpet trim lights 2 oxygen generators hot foot auto bilge ventilation fan rod organizer boat cover tandem axel with brakes trim lever additional cleat keep protector snap in cooler box. Just under 60k. I don't have the build sheet in front of me and I may have missed something. Not the best quality boats as far as the hull ive been told but hey we can't all afford a 75k to 100k boat. Its my second boat ever so I think its a great level boat for a newer boat owner. I have high hopes for it coming out of my Tracker 195 TXW TE.

Is this for a certain year or what mines a 2015 z9 I grew up in champions and skeeters but this hull is not a rough ride. My buddy fished the back of my boat 6’4 275 ish boat did fine I do see the lack of quality in the accessories that you talk about but it’s more affordable and nice to take out when I can honestly I’d catch just as much In my 17’ alumacraft with a 50hp. It all boils down to how you treat your stuff and and maintain it
We base the series on brand new 20-21 models. You are correct, it is all in how you maintain and treat your equipment.
I've got a 16 year old 929. Never a hull or trailer problem. Looks as good as the day I bought it. The best part,,,, it belongs to me and not the bank!
Do a aluminum avx2080 from vexus
Z20 pro package has a lot of those options standard and ends up being cheaper than fully rigging the standard z20

Nitro is the worst at "nickel and diming" you for options that should be standard or included in the price. Very disappointing. You look at the boats in store and your eyes light up at the price, until you start looking at what you get vs. what is considered extra. You get a 21 ft boat with a 5" fish finder (standard). LOL!!!!

My 2017 N19 fell apart in a year. The hull is horrible. Will never own another nitro. BASSCAT all the way!

I would spend 4 grand more for the 203 Bass Cat hybrid cougar.
I’m stuck between nitro and skeeter price point seems to be exactly the same and trailer quality seems to be exactly the same only difference I can see is the nitro rides better and the skeeter has a Yamaha.

I'm glad I stumbled on this content and I have watched a lot of your stuff but You are very biased and opinionated. I look at the mother of all boats behind you in this video, Champion, and they are no longer around. Matter of fact Nitro has out lasted many of brands, or bought them. I understand you see all the problems in your line of work but if you see 10-15 bad builds a year there are probably thousands that are problem free. I would own a Nitro if it meant I could fish, wouldn't be my first choice but I will never say I will not buy one. Keep up the content though because we are all entitled to our opinions unless you think Glocks are the only hand guns worth owning then that's a deal breaker.
Nah we get it Joseph! Over the years we have seen thousands and thousands of boats new and used and it's ALWAYS the Nitro's that show their ugly side the soonest. Sure they have outlasted the other brands but that's because of great marketing and a mountain of money behind them. Think of Walmart as an example...do they produce anything of quality across their house brands? NO! But look at the $$$ they make every year! Somewhere in the comments here was a guy who used to work at Nitro and he gave up the real details of what goes on there....very interesting stuff! Thanks buddy!

Seats coverings last maybe 6 months, carpet, hull issues at 2 years old. Yah, I own a Nitro. Never again though
I think if using a pro package youd go way more undervalue but it wouldnt be a fair equal comparison to the other brands. The 2021 Z21 Pros which have 2 Solix 12s, 2 Talons and an Ultrex are clocking in today at 65K take a model year leftover and your down to 60k. No one should touch 70K on a Z20 build.

You must really love your mother in law. My Father bought a Tracker and it rained and things were floating in the storage compartment and the bottom of his boat. Whilst sitting in the driveway with the electronics placed in the storage compartments, insurance refused to cover the electronics that were damaged cause the damage occured not on the water but in the driveway. Never have small loose things in your boat they may make their way to the drain hole and plug it up. Also be sure that your storage compartments have drains factory installed insist on it.
Several years ago I UPGRADED from a 06 Nitro to a 97 Champ.... for about a 3rd of the price.

I will fish in a jon boat before I would own a delaminating , cracking, POS Nitro.
The thing with Tracker marine is they used to give Everude or Johnson or Mercury but they and Lund boats only go with Merc and I was never a merc fan. I ran Yamaha or Suzuki the past couple years I have a Ranger 364 with a 150hp Yamaha and I have a Ranger Rt 188 with a Suzuki 115hp both great engine best engines on the markets. Nitro boats well I will be nice here but they are a cheap made over priced boat. No quality construction on it just cheap made.

Just bought 2021 Z20 pro. Love it. No issues and get tons of compliments at tourneys. It’s like a Cadillac.

@@TeamMarineService I’m interested to see how the hull holds up considering I have not had the boat that long. But the compartment storage and the seats are just so much better than on my ranger. Give me five or six years and then I’ll come back to you.
I have a Gambler, worked at the factory, had brand new Rangers, and skeeters. While my gamblers have been "vintage" so to speak, as for new, Nitro was the only brand of boat I purchased new that wasn't an absolute nightmare from the factory. My 1994 180TF was a great boat as well after I replaced the transom. Only brand of boat I'd ever buy brand new again. Because if you spend an extra 20k on a ranger, you need a f_cking lobotomy lol
Andy anyone can build a cheap boat aka nitro but only the ones who take pride in their name and craftsmanship build the good boats example ranger (when the wood family owned it ) champion bass cat and ballistic I don't really see any other companies in the glass boat market building anything to those standards

Johnny has a contract with Merc it is the same as Lund you can only get Merc they have a contract with them. Before I bought my Rt Ranger 188 I looked at the tracker 190 and they wanted to charge me $250 for the change at the Lowrance at the console I am not a Lowrance guy I wanted hummingbird.
So why not get the Z20 PRO, get everything including Talons for $54K. Helix 9 and 10, just sell those and replace with 12s. $57K or so, done.
Never owned a Nitro. Have heard from too many that have, that they do not have a solid hole shot, that the bow tends to flare way too much. What's the truth?

Seems to me you get hull with noting on it an they pay folks to to install all this an before you know it . The price is like a damn skeeter boat 👎
Ive watched alot of your boat videos like all the other nerds on here. One thing that everyone needs to always factor in along with price…. Dealer and manufacture support. Im from Flippin. Mtn Home is next door. Lots of good boats have been built here, lots of history. For me if I was buying new or used for that matter, I would go with basscat. Why? Rick Pierce and the plant is 30 min away. Bull Shoals Lake Boat dock is a Basscat dealer and has been for a very long time. I know if I have an issue new or used one or both is going to take care of me! Buying a Nitro is not something I would recommend. I would steer clear of JM Triton’s & Rangers unless you have super super good dealer support. I want to like Vexus I really really do, the boats appear to be awesome. But for me they need time. I was all geared up for a tin rig, but too many horror stories of cracked welds across all brands has scared me off. Plus for the $$ a really good used glass rig seems like a better option.

Undervalued purely from the stand point of what you get with all of the top quality accessories but yeah the boat it's self is garbage!
I build the intro boats I have not heard of the hull problems your saying the z20 has the older z 6 7 and 8 had hull problems the being taken and care of UNDr warrenty the mercy engine is the only option intro offers for engines the power poles are now a dealer installed option as of the start of 21 prodution

Andy I just talked to Edward from vance manufacturing of Taft Tn on the phone he is the owner of a jack plate manufacturing company I was totally impressed with his company told me he FIRED bass pro shop cause they wanted him to build a cheaper jack plate and he wasn't going to do it cause his company name and reputation was on the product he's selling and recommend to me to try a new prop one pitch higher and try that and if I felt I needed a jack plate he would be happy to sell me one I thought that was a honest answer to my question very impressive

I've owned several different boat brands over the years, I now own a ranger, all new bass boats are super nice and the technology in all these boats is unbelievable anymore compared to what we use to fish in, most people just put these brands down because they simply can't afford them

I'd buy my 05 901 again. Has been a great boat. Has done everything I have asked of it and has won a lot of money for a whole lot cheaper price. In 15 years it has only cost me 1 lower unit, a water impeller and a few trailer parts. i.e bunks brakes, wheel bearings. Yes I would absolutely buy it again.
