I rode behind 1309 in May and it was such an experience. The day was beautiful and the 1309 was in her best spirits! The way she shuck the ground as she passed by was just amazing. The largest steam engine I have ever rode behind.
Great video and write up. I love reading the write up and learning some of the history that brings us up to date on the locomotive. I really do appreciate you taking time to tell us about the locomotive. You do an amazing job putting everything together to make viewing and learning very enjoyable. Thank You. ❤️
I really like the cab ride footage, it reminds of a DVD I own where it featured cab ride footage of 734 from a photo charter from the early 2000s. Also that prr 3 chime 1309 wore last weekend sure brought back memories as it surprising has seen use on many engines, one of which was GTW 6325 as it wore the whistle from 2003 to 2005. Hell its also seen use on 734 and 765 in the 80s. Just makes me feel more hyped for completion of the prr t1 duplex
Great job by the photographer most disappointing part they don’t have sidetracks and a work engine so they could use the steam engine going both directions. That along with a caboose would make it look a lot neater.
They use a turntable to turn the engine around, currently the track needs work to handle the 1309. Not like there’s much missed out on, an engine drifting downhill
That PRR T1 3 Chime Whistle on 1309 sounds definitely like LIRR 39 and PRR 1361! That whistle definitely will soon be put on 5550 when the newly built T1 is completed soon!

Wow nice. Our channels look the same XD
Fantastic coverage of the 1309. Like the mix of cab ride and trackside shots
Glad you enjoyed

Awesome video friend!!! I like that she is wearing 5550’s future whistle!
This is one well documented video. Love the spots you guys chose but the best was the cab footage. Nice work to you guys.
Thanks

Super video :)

1309 is the new Mountain thunder locomotive 🚂, but ol 734 is still Mountain thunder by heart ❤️.
Well, 1309 is actually called Maryland Thunder, so 734 still has the title.
@@regularguy7266 i much prefer the nickname "Valley Mallet"
Shoulda been "Mountain Mallet"

The whistle kinda sounds like NW 1218
Nice whistle. That's the T1 whistle right?
As the description states, it’s the PRR T1 whistle from the T1 Trust.
@@DynamoProductions-trains you should do a video about it! Now I want to...
Just curious but how did they let you ride in the cab?
They invited the photographer and friends into the cab. They usually have tickets available for cab rides
Does the 1309 have a coal stocker?
Yes it has a stoker.
It seems 1309 is always dark in videos for some reason
Probably because they painted it black
@@DynamoProductions-trains that makes sence imo it looks like a true work horse in that paint

If I ever drove one of these bad boys I’d stay above 75mph no matter what
I’d wish you a lot of luck getting this low drivered freight hauler up to 50, let alone 75.
I understand your logic but fast train cool
@@explosiveboi6692 no argument there.
This locomotive is so cool with its low headlight and massive pistons
Why does the whistle sound like a real Steam whistle at time’s ? But mostly like the mating call of a sick elk !
Because they switched out the whistle
