Thank you for this clear video. TBM can be pretty confusing at first, and this really helped make the gear situation more clear. The only thing it did not talk about which I still don't completely understand is the difference between the Group armor you can buy out in PoT, and the Group Planes armor you can buy in PoHealth. The Plane armor just has better base stats, but still uses the Aug system? One thing that might need to be emphasized is that "Into the Temple (B)" is a Heroic Adventure, scaled to your level, and absolutely NOT EASY. Without group IVU I am not sure how you could pull it off, and even with it you have to be very careful because the Servant of Sul mobs are live, and see through IVU. The mobs are packed in very close, and if you get 2+ your adventure is going to take a turn for the worse. I had best avail buffs and a 2 pull killed me and my merc before I could activate a disc to help. So even though it is scaled to your level, it is scaled high (unlike a Gribbles). Most of the mobs con even or higher (yellow or red). Trying this at 92, the Servants were red and level 96. I did not even live long enough to get to the Bokon. So eat your Wheaties before Into the Temple(B)! Thanks again for all your great EQ videos, I really appreciate them.
I was able to solo it with my monk if I recall. Been a while tho can’t remember. Group > vendor but group armor is hard to get. Easier to get the dropped stuff from missions with better stats. Crypt hunter
@@hammackj Much respect for being able to solo Into Temple(B) at any level. I'm a returning player, still a little rusty and my Sk is slightly under geared for 92. But molo-ing it w CLR I was burning every disc and still died a few times trying to get through the Bokon priestesses at the end. Was very fun though! And I think you mentioned the Into Temple(B) mobs were very good XP (0.1 - 0.2 per MOB), whereas in the Dead Hills Gribbles they are more like 0.02, and the XP only comes at the end). One last note, I died in the last stage (the 10 priestesses) and did not get back into the zone fast enough before they depopped. I still had all the books though, just requested the mission from the Mayor, zoned in, re-read the books and the priestesses popped. They come from the South hallway, so don't camp there. Learned that the hard way. :) Thanks again for all the helpful videos, they're a valuable resource for the community.
For anybody newly returning... Be sure you level lock at 75 for these zones, until you have all the t3 gear from soloing the missions. Level 75 is stupid easy. Mathematically impossible to die if you have the 115 buffs (mainly damage shield) and you can just blast through the zones. Doesnt take long to have a full set of t3 armor and the rest. You may need to find who drops what, like the pet earing only drops one place, and it's a rare drop, but you can gear up pretty quickly. Even going one level past to 76 will drastically increase difficulty... so dont do it. In fact, have permanent 75s to farm the currency, and time you need to upgrade to the next levelset augments. I have level 75s who only job is to gear up (and PL) my higher level toons, by abusing these zones.
@@hammackj Not many TBH... but you can drag a main through (dont zone in until final hand in) and they get lots. I made a 3rd FTP account for this purpose only. It has a level 75 warrior, who can clear these zones, then I just zoned in the mains. Mains would get full tokens. I cannot stress enough, how stupid easy these zones are at 75. None of my toons in my alt army ever had difficulty... enchanter that you dont know how to play? No problem! Just tank and melee!
@@hammackj ahh yea good point unfortunately I only krono here and there for AA grants/grind - i suppose I could death train it though to stay at 75 8P - I think ill just make a character for this specifically as my Paladin I made way back in the early 2000's and I have a strange attachment to her (silly i know)
Any named mob can drop. I don’t think the chest does. The best chances would be during a named event. Just spam them over and over until you get a named. The ones that start from plane of health seem fast.
you said the Remnants of Tranquility are tradable.... but how do you farm them yourself? is there a good place or mission to just farm them on your own? (there aren't any for sale on my bazaar). I'm currently working with a couple level 85 heroic bosts, so that should give you some idea of the gear i currently have. Thanks for the video! appreciate the content you put out especially cause there's a BIG black hole in my EQ knowledge and your vids shed a lot of light on it!
All the missions in TBM drop them. Easy ones is tricky depends on your group. Scaling is whack the closer to 105 you get. I got hit for 60k on my paladin in one and nothing I’ve fought before or after that hit me for 60k. Just doing all the progression will yield a ton of tokens. You have to repeat each mission like 6 times to get to the next stage. Let me know if you need more info.
They will scale player level 75 to 105. You will get blue / yellow / red mobs bosses being harder red. so at 85 you will be mobs up to 88 or 89. I find the scaling goes strange on levels ending in 4, 84/94/104 where they just hit hard as shit. Depending on your setup you may or may not notice it. I ended up doing Gribbles in my paladin series because they scale friendlier than TBM missions.
Thank you for the video. I quit in 2004 and recently came back, I purchased the heroic 100 boost and it was suggested that I do this, but the armor seems to be a downgrade. Is there something I'm missing?
You have to get the augs for you level it should be better than the 100 heroic gear. But I’d skip it level 100 to 106 and get conflagrant armor from the bazar
Is there anyway for a soloplayer to do this in 2024? since my 107 shd didnt manage to do it with heroic gear and my 75 with elegant armor and a journey caster, heal or tank. Am I screwed for playing on a dead server like antonius bayle?
You should be able to solo TBM missions at 75+ they scale to your level. 107 SK should destroy it. Which mission were you having trouble with? Though I just read you said heroic gear. Do you mean heroic 100 gear? I really don’t recommend dead servers unless you box and even then without an economy it can suck. I recommend FV or Teek atm.
@@hammackj Yeah Heroic 100 Gear couldnt manage to get better gear yet, boxing is no alternative for me seems like I will have to pay for a server transfer :P my 107SHD dies in 1 to 2 hits in the first Adventure when I click the Skull on the table the first time.
Hi, I tried doing the crypt of sul in the TBM quest today and it was pretty much impossible. all mobs yellow and red. Is it supposed to be like that? (at level 89)
Yes. Yellow are group mobs. Depending on a class you should be able to slowly kill them with a merc. I had no issues with sk and necro with merc. Haven’t tried with other yet
The named mobs in the HA's are just brutal and I cant seem to take them out (i dont have a ton of dps in my duo) - thanks for the updated fear/hate thing i never really understood what that was all about - but since I can only do the HA's barely comfortably and the bosese there smoke me I assumed doing updated hate/fear would be a bad idea 8P
The HA mission nameds are hard, the fear/hate stuff is even harder. I don't think I cut how fast my pet go owned just zoning into fear at 120. The HA scale so the bosses should be toward the top end of the scale for your level range. Typically on these HA nameds I have to full burn them. I can't remember what your duo is but if you don't have a tank it might be a good idea to add one. The last time i ran through these I was 6boxing and they were pretty hard. I ended up just doing the gribbles for exp because they were so much easier. At 105 they might be easier and more scaled to player power at that level to make them easier to duo/solo/group. I plan to try them on my paladin/ranger duo when they get 75 and see how hard it is then. I am a few weeks out on that though.
@@hammackj Yea my duo (110) are really weak in the dps area. i suppose in every sense actually 8P its an Enchanter and Ranger relying on the Chanters summoned pet to tank, I cant stand charming stuff its just annoying and frankly a sure death sentence for me anyways - I do have 2 other accounts but no SK or War anywhere near the right level - I did gribbles for a long time and I dont think i can do them anymore like you they just put me to sleep - at least TBM im not completely bored of yet and gives tradeable currency which is handy since I only Krono a couple times a year to get auto grants and work on grinding AA's - I guess Ill have to work on getting a real tank leveled up

Curious how this is done at level 75? I went to explore this expansion last night with my 78 ranger, gold account, mostly paragon's gear and elegant defiant. 30k hps and got absolutely wiped. 2 hits for 17k each.
The missions scale 75 to 105~, the normal open world mobs will not scale. The missions are for groups and you will need a tank/healer, I have never tired with a merc tank though at 75. The gear unlocks at 70 without anything in PoT; the augs unlock with the first 3 quests at 75

And the base armor is cheap - like very affordable - it's the augs that get you starting at 75@@hammackj
