I feel like a big problem with RL players is adaptability. They don't adapt to the way their teammates play, they just want to do their own thing. And that can be even more noticeable when you factor in a player with such a unique playstyle such as yourself

"Is everyone else's matches like these?" Yup, pretty much. Half the time when I play with my friends too
ALL THE EFFING TIME!!! The constant double commits and tailgating (often even happens when the other two are paired up), then making epic passes and nobody is there for the shot.
It explain why you have to carry games so much at D3-C1 to progress. Almost half my games now I spend most of the game in my end or circling because nobody else is cycling back

To answer your question, I actually had a way better experience on solo q 3s this season, thanks to the rank disparity update. But yeah you really have to be everyone's servant and be ready to get cut off all the time.

@@Kryxx07 No no no now you've got ME STARTED! I'm sometimes D1, but D2 (for now) and it's instantly obvious when one of your two (partied up) team mates is like 3 ranks below you. I was D1 earlier, and had a pair with a D1 and their P1 buddy. Just not fair honestly. So obvious who the P1 was from their positioning.
Half of ranked 3s is thinking "oh god why is he going for that?" and the other half is thinking "why is nobody there?"
Te classic going for an arial play but they are travelling towards THEIR side of the field. Like... what's genuinely going through their minds at that moment. Probably just modem noises.

I'm Gold/Plat in 3s and all my games are solo queue and EVERY single game is just like this.
Solo queuing 3s is such a pain especially in the lower ranks. Thats why i am D1 in 2s but Gold3/plat1 in 3s lol

I try to rotate properly so they can at least get a sense of where I'll be and where they should be, but most of the time I don't think they even consider that they have two other teammates out there.
I'm at around gc1 and this is how about 75% of my games go, I have to play defense all game because my 2 teammates are double committing every play, but the other 25% of the time is pretty fun
I float between GC1/2 in 2s, but I'm only Champ 2 in 3s lol I just can't win enough to rank up in 3s.

I started solo queueing about a week ago and I literally dropped from gc 1 div 3 to champ 2 div 1. Its literally a nightmare
Every. Single. Time. It doesn’t matter where on the field I go, I have a teammate chasing me. I could drive around on the ceiling and they’d follow me. Solo queueing 3s is the WORST experience in Rocket League.

A while ago I just had enough with 3's, the in a scrub killa's video he said that i shouldn't even bother with 3's and play 2's and 1's. If a pro says that, a top 100 SSL, pro, world champion says that solo q 3's is a nightmare, that's when I knew that if I don't play with friends, don't even bother with that mode

Yup, the 1st game is exactly my life in C1. I'm playing solid team ball and then... yeah...
3s have never been shown so accurately. Teammates double commit on everything, take the ball from you. Can't get a save if their life depended on it. Yep, oh, and they never pass the ball, they just aimlessly flail into it and expect you to be a god and know where it's going and how to be there. 🤣 3s is pure cancer when solo queued.

Like dude ffs I'm trying, you don't need to spam it the moment the ball leaves your possession. Or even worse, when I'm at the front on kickoff and my teammate in the back is saying that. Like yeah no shit Sherlock, I realise that as the closest to the ball it's my turn to go for the ball.

Open Question: My friend and I keep arguing over this and I am curious to get everyone’s opinion. Breaking rotation occurs more frequently in Gold ranks than it does in either Plat or Diamond. Let me know what you think and why, thanks everyone! Also great video.

Nah, gold break rotation cuz they don't know what is rotation, plat break rotation cuz they don't look at their teammates, diamonds break rotation cuz they want to show a pop off of what they're not (a high rank), so they think they're smart after doing a stupid play. (i'm a diamond btw)
So yeah, different reasons make this mistake more uncommon, but more common if you're behind on the score

This is 100% what I experience in 3s...except I suck...so I can't 1v3 it myself yet....and I can't demo efficiently...and I lose 4-0 and we forfeit....and sometimes I'm the one getting in the way.

Good way to think of it is, if you're the solo person queueing 3's maybe its you not the other 2? To be fair those 2 were quite awful, but if you're solo queueing don't be a hero.

And plat is even worse for 3s, it’s by far the worst rank in my opinion. Everyone is either ball chasing thinking they’re GC or just AFK even though they pressed the button to join a game. I literally have had multiple teammates come take the ball from on top of me while I was dribbling. It really has made me lose my sanity
3s best mode but it also sucks

Honestly man... You're really good at demo'ing but you absolutely 100% make the game less fun, I'm really hoping they figure out a way to patch your style out of the game. It's cool you've made a name for yourself with this style and you make a bit of money off it, good for you! But the game would better without this ability entirely. It's the equivalent to holding people's stick in hockey without the ref looking or faking in soccer.
Spawn protection would be a good way to start the decline of this style. You can see how pro's demo (ie. SSG, really good with demos while staying in position) and it's literally nothing like you do it, you're so often out of position committing to these demos. So its generally bad for you and bad for your team. I've been in countless games where someone adopts this style and their own teammates lose their mind on them and get toxic on them and then someone in the game says "woody sucks" or something. It's not a great influence lol.

people miss open nets, people double commit...I see you riding around try to demo people instead of getting back to the net...a good player always backs up his teammate on defense....just in case.
