I can’t see anything special about southeast development commission order than pure politics. There is Niger Delta development commission, north east development commission and northwest development commission. Very soon there will be southwest and north central development commissions. We are talking about a region that was abandoned since the past 54 years and we are jumping up and down because of the equalisation. How much money can plug a hole that took 54 years to dig? When it comes allocation more will still be allocated to the northeast and northwest development commissions.
The South East development commission should have only 1 agenda.
Build regional modern Rail lines connecting all the states in the south east
And who will use it? The Igbo living in Lagos, North and South South? Train is for human beings to use and not for ghosts. Who is living inside the mansions that Igbos built in the forest in SE?

That said, the so-called development commission will be meaningless without a coherent agenda. They should demonstrate their seriousness by: (1) investing whatever fund allocated to helping Gov Otti build his Azumini Port Complex and its new growth centre for those fleeing demolitions and persecutions elsewhere in Nigeria (2) connecting all cities in the region with a standard gauge railway line linked to a central spine terminating at Enugu central railway station.
I read somewhere that Igboland now has huge gas deposits which is coveted by European states struggling to resolve their energy issues and they are building pipelines. So funding should not be an issue. No SE development, no Igbo gas export. Finito!
This South East Development commission is audio infrastructure. There is no evidence that such commission exists or will exist. Dr Alex Otti has done the needful without this audio commission. The sole aim of doing this is just to take credit for what Dr Alex Otti has done. We are waiting to see what this audio commission will do

When Nigeria-Biafra war ended in 1970, there was 3R’s that was declared which ended the war.
Which was reconciliation, reconstruction and rehabilitation.
1970 to date 26-7-2024 none of these R has been achieved.
Look at North east development commission, that was set up 4 years ago Shettima went to Maiduguri last month to commission the headquarters of this commission to the tune of 26 billion naira.
This is what the headquarters of the commission cost, it has been built, finished and commissioned by Shettima last month June 2024.
When south east development commission bill was presented to the senate and House of Representatives chambers in 2019, some senators and representatives from the nearly fight their counterparts from South east for presenting the bill.
Today, every geopolitical zone has its development Commission bill approved and accented by the Tinubu.
