I love this life update. I’m in the space that you were in before - I don’t get googly eyes around children, I’m scared of losing my identity when I take this big life-long responsibility... but I’m slowly understanding that it would be an expansion of myself, not a limitation. Have u read “Motherhood” by Sheila Heti? It got mixed reviews but it helped me ask myself real questions and confront some truths. Congrats on being a new Mom! Our babies are the same age:) I'm also a new Mom and my baby girl just turned 6 months. Is your baby an April baby too? I was struggling with sleep also, until I tried the sleep training technique from the book: 12 hours sleep by 12 weeks old. We didn't start trying this technique until our baby was well past 12 weeks, but it worked like a charm! Better than anything else we tried. Now she's sleeping from 7:30pm to 7:30am, and only stirs once or twice after 3:30am, but doesn't need a feeding, just her paci. There are some great UA-cam videos on the technique. I'm excited to check out your new albums! I love your music. Congrats on everything!!!

I've been the biggest fan of yours since All I Have era. I knew the first time listening to you was a moment where I just can't wait to see and experience your evolution as a woman and an artist. Your Touch album lit a passion of love and appreciation of your music. However, it was because I love it album where I found an album of a lifetime. It was magic. I remember having to ordering it outside the U.S. so i can hear it. "Crazy Wonderful" "Crush" and "When Loving U was Easy" and "Losing U" were nonstop. I informed everyone about that album. Then I did the same for "In Love and War." ...I missed you so much. When I heard Outside Your Body I was happy but the Drive EP was a nice gift. .... Now listening to your new albums. All i can say THANK YOU for still making music. "Midnight Rain" "A Heart's for the Breaking" "I Remember Us" and "Give It All Up" are absolutely masterpiece. Overall, you made me appreciate music. so thanks
Stay hydrated...eat and drink plant-based throughout the day to build up your immune system. Also a candidia cleanse is good especially if you were given any antibiotics or pain meds Your body is readjusting which is why you are retaining a little water. Also, be good to your heart and brain by resting. You have to get more rest because those 4 hours a day can lead to a setback in the future. You are amazing and such a hard worker but your body is forever changed. You brought life into the world so get your rest and take care of yourself. It takes about 18 months for the body to reset after childbirth so relax and build back up slowly Love and light Amerie. The first of your videos I've watched I believe. I'm home from work sick so I think I'll binge watch hee hee. Anyhoo, very inspiring how creative and ambitious you are and all while being a mom...super inspiring! The part about having more empathy resonated with me. I'm not yet a mom but I have such strong feelings of empathy already. It's mostly when I see homeless people when I'm out and about. It literally almost hurts me physically, the feelings are so strong. So, already having strong empathetic feelings, I can only imagine when I have children. Wow you have been busy!! Congrats on the albums and novel and again on the birth of your baby and being such a super mum in general! I don’t have any big parenting advice but I’m a hard-working business owner who is passionate about their work too and I thought that starting my child in daycare for three dats a week when she was 12months old was the best decision. It really frees me up to do the work I’m passionate about, not lose myself and also in turn really treasure the time I have with my little one. I think it would be good to start looking for someone who can educate and care for your child. They sleep less and less and need more and more attention when they’re awake so it’s important to get some help!
The cover art for the two albums look very nice. The headshot for each album is simple, but the pretty background colors really make the image pop. They look like makeup pallet colors or watercolors.

Hearts For The Breaking and 4am Mulholland are my favorites so far. You are my she-ro preggers recorded 2 albums, writing 2 books, being a wife, sister and daughter! I’m 6 months preggers now and all I want to do is sleep ( lol) I just love you. Your music has genuinely saved my life. I just can’t say it enough. I can’t wait to see you live again. The first of your videos I've watched I believe. I'm home from work sick so I think I'll binge watch hee hee. Anyhoo, very inspiring how creative and ambitious you are and all while being a mom...super inspiring! The part about having more empathy resonated with me. I'm not yet a mom but I have such strong feelings of empathy already. It's mostly when I see homeless people when I'm out and about. It literally almost hurts me physically, the feelings are so strong. So, already having strong empathetic feelings, I can only imagine when I have children. Enjoyed the video and really love your song "See me Cry", my favorite from the new albums!

Wow you have been busy!! Congrats on the albums and novel and again on the birth of your baby and being such a super mum in general! I don’t have any big parenting advice but I’m a hard-working business owner who is passionate about their work too and I thought that starting my child in daycare for three dats a week when she was 12months old was the best decision. It really frees me up to do the work I’m passionate about, not lose myself and also in turn really treasure the time I have with my little one. I think it would be good to start looking for someone who can educate and care for your child. They sleep less and less and need more and more attention when they’re awake so it’s important to get some help!
The cover art for the two albums look very nice. The headshot for each album is simple, but the pretty background colors really make the image pop. They look like makeup pallet colors or watercolors.

I love what you said re: being afraid of losing yourself after becoming a parent and not caring about things. I've heard a few loved ones talk about this, as well as how having children can awaken one's drive and one's quest for purpose. It's good to see you've retained your sense of self, and have found your flow as a parent.
