Problem with bf 2 2017 is I'm tired of playing the same maps over and over. And when I get to the map I want to play, there's never anyone in it.
Or, if you want to play singleplayer, a lot of features aren’t available.
Its not fun with all the heroes running around, they're the main reason i dont play the new battlefront anymore
In BF2017 I really missed the Maps of BF2015.. I loved the Endor maps.. and in my opinion parts of the character customization were much better in BF15.. for example that you were able to use any weapon u wanted.

I have no problem with the classes of BF17, but I missed some of the items from BF15.. cycler rifle, sniper rifle, jump pack and as I said before the amount of weapons to choose from. In general I often had the feeling that the weapons in BF15 had better balancing.. damage of the E-11 was better I think.
why is no one talking about the other stuff wrong with the game, yeh i get it multiplayer doesn't work but so much more is messed up, like the for BF2 campaign half the cut scenes are missing,. The some of the UI elements aren't even wide screen. And for BF2 the split screen has awful cropping issues with health bars not even fitting in the box. Yeh multiplayer is broken but there is more to this collection that doesn't work
I've also been experiencing some bizarre, jump scare, loud audio glitches. Not that it detracts too much from the overall gameplay. However, it is a tad annoying.

Player movement speed has been decreased and xl mode has no options for a timer, so games all end after less than 10 minutes, the list of issues are endless it seems
this is a gta trilogy level remaster disaster and it's absolutely tragic that it's happening to another beloved ps2 game franchise

This is why all games that push playing online should have all maps, game modes, & options should be playable offline with bots and split screen. A game that focuses on playing online is eventually going to fail because of not enough online players. I hate playing online because of all the issues mentioned and people online can be real turds.
I just might go back to playing the EA Battlefront at this point, just like controls better and how it plays. have no idea how to get a refund back though since I purchased it on my switch.
And that’s why the older Battlefront games is still practically gold because it was ahead of its time and provided a lot options and providing both singleplayer/splitscreen and multiplayer having the same modes for overall accessibility where areas modern Battlefront games pushed too much on the multiplayer side and that’s why despite its popularity it just doesn’t have the same appeal or accessibility

I really miss the old days of local couch multiplayer, barely any games have that now and that was unbeatable fun with friends or family.
Man I’m really hoping they can turn it around. Not just to have a Battlefront game to play but to keep up your channel growth. It’s been a tough few years on the Star Wars gaming side of things.
The intent is to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment...for finding a match or even hitting an enemy with any blaster.

Anyone else struggling with the sensitivity? No matter how high I turn it up, it doesn’t actually change the speed. It takes 2 seconds just to turn around in 3rd person. Simply looking around is a pain. No matter what settings I mess with, the sensitivity doesn’t change. I’m on Xbox one.
Bro yes!!! On space combat in struggling bad on turns I tried to adjust the sensitivity to something high and it hardly made a difference
I am experiencing the same thing! It's absolutely horrible to turn to other directions, no matter how much you change the sensitivity.
might be obvious but are you changing tuning for each character type? ie jedi has different sense infantry star fighters etc

the sensitivity has always been too low on battlefront 2 even in the original release, its fine on battlefront 1
Tried multiplayer, got into a game after 20 minutes, played one match, and then it wouldn't let me spawn in. Went right back to single player.

Personally I think the sales of this collection will have no impact on the future potential of a Star Wars Battlefront "3" one way or another. The interest was there when it was announced, the interest in the series has always been there since the original in 2004. What I want is a proper remaster of Star Wars Battlefront Renegade Squadron because many people like me never got to play it, I only played Star Wars Battlefront Elite Squadron and the four released mainline Star Wars Battlefront games
Renegade squadron isn’t as fun as the original 2. Trust me your not missing much.

If anyone is able to, all the PSP BF games work on the Vita, and you can move the controls for the face buttons to the Vita's second joystick. It is the absolute best way to play these games outside of emulation or a PSTV.

How hard would it be for them to release Free Radical's BFIII? I know that build that is 99% done is just sitting in some archive somewhere at Lucasarts.
They probably won't be allowed to use that property if it's technically owned by another company still or something stupid but that game looks absolutely amazing and makes me so sad that it never got released
It’s not close to 99% done. It has the content but it was nowhere even close to being polished or ready for release. What you heard was either an exaggeration or a rumor.
Highly skeptical, given we've been hearing for 2 decades that the Duke Nukem Forever 2001 build was "90% complete" and when it finally got leaked a year or two ago, it had only like 2 playable levels populated with enemies, the rest were dead empty with no enemies, triggers, or even player start locations set, and of those 2 "playable" levels a million things were broken.

Yes the game is 99% done said recently from one of the original team leads that designed the game Barclay is the name. Who works at naughty dog now. Said that the battlefront community was robbed of having a really good Battlefront ever.
If anything, this just reconfirms for future potential investors in the Battlefront franchise that interest remains extremely high in 2024.
This actually had the opposite effect. There are not a lot of players playing on Steam and it hasn’t sold well due to the reviews. If anything this shows developers to stay far away from Star Wars, especially since you MUST go through Disney first since they own ALL right and properties of Star Wars.

Issues companies usually point to a lack of interest in the property and usually gives devs an even harsher deadline for the next project creating an even worst situation. It’s been happening a lot in both the gaming and film industry and it doesn’t seem like it’ll change anytime soon.

On the switch it’s actually good only thing bad is the control of aiming but outside of that it’s great
No option to invert controls makes it unplayable for many.
The servers are actually populated in Battlefront 2, it is another bug that shows servers as being empty or low. Need join one until you find a populated one. Hopefully they fix this next bug soon.
My brother & I pre-purchased the switch version and haven't experienced any of the problems I've heard or see in reviews.
Hope it gets fixed across the board tho

I’m playing on ps4, everything is fine. Just dead with a few players
Bf1 on ps5 works almost fine and is more populated than pc. Bf2, is pretty rough still but there are dozens of dedicated servers now and they are very populated considering the roughness
On Xbox it's dead, yesterday evening we played with like 4 people and that was the most populated server. If all players would've come together in one server, we would've had 10 people. Maybe it was the time idk but that's embarrassing.
@@lmdvvyod yeah the difference is xbox has always had access to the game. I'm surprised anybody on xbox or pc bought it at all. It will remain heavily populated on playstation and switch.
@bennettnez4711 There was no online for Xbox, only single player. And for me personally, I use the Series S, so I can't use my old Battlefront 1&2 Discs. Online Key Stores don't sell them for Xbox, so I had to buy both for 10€ each in the Xbox Store. Paying 10€ more and getting more Maps, Heros, modes, better textures and online multi-player seemed like a good deal to me.
Yeah went on the next two days when it wasn’t crowded, it played smoothly for the most part on both games mostly BF1, and there was a players playing in and out on different maps so it wasn’t completely dead, and this was right before I hopped back to playing singleplayer, overall Aspyr just needs to make there servers bigger for larger lobby handling and fix the remaining issues on offline
I just want a fix for offline problems. I mostly play offline and hoth textures are broken and blue, I can’t use the droideka bcos it won’t roll up, when leaving a vehicle it messes up my controls for a few minutes, sensitivity is awful and invisible walls and textures just to make a few (ps5)
Yup, people need to stop ignoring the offline bugs, but since people are onlineoomers only the server issues get attention, and then Aspyr will only labour fixing those. Normies only care about playing online. They won't even ask for Hoth to get fixed

I am still a fan of BF2 2017 as my fav mp star wars game. They did a great fixing it and rebuilding it.They need to make Battlefront 3.
I found it fun, sadly you can't play on PC anymore because there's too many cheaters
IMPORTANT CONSOLE NOTE: I play on switch and it’s apparent that BF1 and BF2 sensitivity is messed up and only has aim assist OFFLINE. This makes playing online nearly impossible to have fun with. With no aim assist and terrible sensitivity options - added with aim acceleration that you cannot turn off, I’ll not be playing online at all until this is fixed/if fixed. BF2 offline is OK, BF1 on switch aiming offline is actually difficult due to aim acceleration. But for me - both online are nearly unplayable. Plus all the issues mentioned regarding short marches online. Curious if others are experiencing the same.

Aim assist is a toggle you can turn on or off in custom matches online.
Dude, a Star Wars Helldivers-like where you play as Clones or Rebels fighting the CIS or Empire would be amazing!
Somewhat similar to that smaller tactical shooter that Lucasarts was working on before it got canceled.
Give the next reboot to the team that worked on EA's BF2. They left DICE not long after killing BF2 for 2042 and formed their own company. Embark Studio.

I’ve noticed on Switch, in BF1, the little noise during the loading screen sometimes don’t play or don’t play fully.
A huge percentage of players can’t even play due to the missing invert Y axis option. I will not play this game again until this is fixed,
Still cant invert my controls! It was fine on release since I was only playing single player but after the latest update I can't invert any of my controls so it's unplayable for the moment
There's a mod for the army sim Squad that turns it into a star wars game. And it's not just a reskin either it actually adds the worlds, the weapons, the UI, the vehicles, it's amazing! It's like its own game. You should probably check it out just for your own mental health.
I have experienced a few bugs and annoyances sometimes, but honestly ive been thoroughly enjoying the multiplayer, especially since they raised the unit count.
Star wars needs a studio that would not only make a great battlefront 3 that builds on what they didn't finish in bf2. It also wouldn't hurt to have more star wars games that are truly good story games like old republic where you could be a sith, jedi or all the others
What may be even more sad is the peak player count never cracked 10k players. As of the time writing this comment on a sunday afternoon, more people are playing the newer battlefront 2 than the classic collection.
Still gonna be the 1 to say it, if EA would update the newer battlefront 2 with a surprise update that added an anti-cheat, rebalanced heroes, added new maps and heroes, we could potentially have 1 of the best battlefront games.
I played on the switch a few matches, on multiple matches and the game runs smoothly for me surprisingly the only bug I see is when the pop up menu showing the command post and it’s starts bugging a bit, but other then that, playing quick play runs well and I’ve been having fun

The part that gets me is that it’s not the games that suck. It’s the greed behind the people making these games. Like ea and now aspyer they just keep making greedy decisions and we the fans get the shaft in more ways than one.
At least on PC we have the older version still for sale. And the servers work and the mods add a lot too.
Anyone know how to disable the sticky reticle on console permanently? I've turned it off in the menus but it still stays on- makes shooting in the game really annoying

In defense of the classic battlefront collection, EA had a lot of time to make mistakes and fix what they fucked up. I’d like to have some faith that aspyr will do the same thing.
I really want them to hurry and fix the game because all I wanted for years is for these games to come back and have a consistent player base where I can casually jump into a match and have a good time playing with people all over the world, is that so much to ask for?
Aside from the multiplayer servers and missing cutscenes, my top fix would have to be the lighting.
I can't explain it, but some of the maps in BFII just seem improperly lit when compared the original version. Especially Mustafar.
I play on Switch and for the past two days, I cannot "Join" a game or search with filtered playlists on either Battlefront games. The game will crash every single time. So I am stuck to doing Quick Matches. I have had some fun but as someone who never played these Battlefront games, I wish it was a better experience.

The thing that upsets me the most that I see hardly anyone talking about is that the game is region locked!!! I literally can’t play with my friends!!!
I just bought the original Battlefront II 2005 for my friend for $10 on Steam. It works great, has a wealth of mods, and has multiplayer with a few active servers. Why not go play that instead? It's fully functional. The servers lag depending on where you're located, but it's better than the alternative.
I wish more people would play Battlefront 1 the servers for that game are waayyyy better than they are in Battlefront 2

If they fixed stuff, 100% people would come back. We are talking about one of the most popular games of an entire generation. Just it's a big if of if they can fix it or not.
For Xbox players, if you’re only enjoying the offline modes of the classic collection. I’d still recommend refunding it as you can literally get the same content including the maps and heroes for a way cheaper price just without the online multiplayer. A shame that this collection turned out to be such a disaster.
on single player you can even get more maps and heroes with mods and its really easy to install, just copy and paste
honestly, i went back to the old swbf2 and theres a few servers with people on them still. just last night i joined a game with 60 players in it. im not talking about the collection just to clarify.
I wish there was an option to not download the FMVs if you would rather have the multi gigs storage back.
Heard that it's actually the upscaled textures that do that. Apparently there's a lot of upscaled BS to make everything look crisp, but they didn't think to try to compress any of it.
This game needs to be able to allow me to invite my brother to a game and then for us to search for a lobby at the moment it’s almost impossible to see such for a lobby together
What set me over the edge was issues with the scope controls and more importantly, no setting for inverted controls which is an essential feature for me in space battles which is my favorite part of Battlefront II

It’s just that simple. As long as my campaign and instant action works on the original and I can connect to my childhood memories like that. I’m completely fine with the game.

I played online yesterday and there was only one conquest server with a decent amount of players lol at least the connexion seemed more stable than on launch day

It's sort of possible through Steam with remote play.
The best hope for this game is for them to add crossplay once all the major bugs and server issues are fixed. A lot of people are dropping this game across all platforms so the only chance of it maintaining a somewhat decent player count is by allowing everyone on all platforms to play together.
Sooner or later developers and publishers have got to understand just how important it is to release a complete, stable game on day 1. This "we'll fix it later" mentality is blatantly disrespectful to each respective playerbase that has undergone this sort of treatment. You should have a complete, finished product on day 1, especially after dropping 35 smackaroos on it.

It baffles me how modern developers can’t even PORT old games without adding bugs and removing content.
I’m a Software Engineer and I can tell you everyone with the tiniest bit of skill is staying miles away from the gaming industry because they pay you a misery and treat you like garbage, while other companies asking for programmers pay way more and actually treat you like an office worker.
Aspyr need to REALLY work hard to make this game bounce back! I'm seriously tired of this series being treated like it has little worth.
I have Battlefront 2 and EaW/FoC, but they are physical versions, but without a no CD patch of some nature, I am not confident I won't tear up the discs since I played them ao much, especially modded. Expanding Fronts functions as a no CD patch for Galactic Battlegrounds/Clone Campaigns. I want to play Dark Times II: Rising Son and Battlefront Conversion Pack, ideally with the Xbox DLC, and all of the great EaW mods like Thrawn's Revenge, RaW, and AoR. I guess just rebuying them on Steam is probably the best solution.

They had a standard job, and it was pretty simple as it’s off things already existing.
Get the two games that have been remastered/ported onto Steam and see what people are doing with them, mods, changes, reviews, etc.
Make them work on current consoles with servers online.
Add some little changes to make the price of purchasing make sense, allow nostalgia by keeping the old bits too, like single player.
Do some patching, do some testing.
Release… working…

I don't think they can actually fix the multiplayer without ground up rewriting it. It was kinda like that back in the day too, play on one of the original battlefront servers you'll see it there too.
They are asking 35$, it is not unreasonable to expect them to rewrite the netcode.

As a Switch player, my guess is Aspyr originally planned this to be just a Switch port (due to them mainly focusing on Switch ports of Star Wars games) and then realized part way “oh crap, Battlefront is a popular game and other consoles might want this.”
I’m gonna come back to it once they actually release a patch just waiting till then and constantly monitoring any news
I'm just having fun playing the game offline on my switch like how I used to play it despite some bugs and errors.
But I still hope Aspyr can get there stuff together and fix the issues in both online and offline stuff. Like audio issues and end mission cutscenes in Star Wars Battlefront 2's campaign.
They need to patch certain glitches in single player as well. Had sound cut out on jabbas palace. Static explosion sound on Felucia. As well as missing textures and stairs in yavin 4 map
Xbox player here, servers feel fine for me. Only issue is that the sensitivity on BF2 is awful. I don’t know if it’s the aim acceleration or what but aiming is so hard. Sensitivity is fine on BF1 at least. I just wish there where more full servers barely anyone is playing

Eh. Just playing singleplayer. I can work with Galactic Conquest and stuff. However, multiplayer was absolutely dead on arrival.

I was playing BF2 last night and it worked fine but there were only a few people in the servers. Playing at 3 am probably didn’t help but still
I never got the outrageous lag or desyncing that you're getting here. I did notice the dead servers and probably most alarming was that when me and my friend were trying to find a server to play on, we realized we were getting a completely different list of servers. Could not find a single server in common with each other on the browser with no filters on BF2. It was the same on BF1 for a while but then after a few refreshes we would get the same server lists. Has anyone else had this problem because I wasn't able to find anyone talking about this
it was like that for a day, i tried it. now everyone cried and moaned about it so no one's playing when all they had to do was wait a little bit
Nope because offline play is still a thing and it's still fun as hell to play with your friends.
I don’t get why they couldn’t have delayed it. Nobody was even expecting this re-release until a few weeks back. Releasing it in a much better state later on would’ve been good for sales too.

I'm not super happy with how the multi player is super laggy. However, I got on last night and was in a server with 50 people. It was crazy and still some fun.
I still enjoyed playing through both games because I played them as a kid and it’s Star Wars and I love Star Wars. It’s a bummer to see it not doing well :(
I had none of the glitches everyone else had and still returned it. I hope they make it better and I come back, but I doubt it.
Played earlier. Was a lot better today but highest player count I saw for a server was one 60 player match and one with 37
Funny, how 3 servers would be perfect for the current player numbers. Its like they excepted the game to die quick. (more likely than not)

Look I’m a big Halo fan and The BFCC could pull an MCC. However Aspyr’s current track record already shows that they’ll give it a patch or two then go radio silent. I think this is only getting fixed if its handed to another studio.
