After about 14 days of hard work (with a few off here and there), the pool is now crystal clear, blue all around. Just a tiny bit of detritus that you really just need to get into the pool to clean by hand. A bit of green on the bottom. We'll drop in the pool robot and have him finish the job.
A few days later, I went in the pool and wiped down the walls with a towel, and cleaned up whatever else I could possibly see. There is absolutely no substitute for that. Many tools that can help, but the final bit is always a manual process, in water that may not quite be up to temperature. Fortunately, by this point in the game, the water had warmed up enough to go in, so cleaning wasn't much of a chore.
Here's to another happy swimming season!

Ya know, Jay... I think you make working on your pool look like a lot of fun! In fact, that is my favorite series that you post on your channel when you open your pool up for the summer! Such an awesome thing to see! And I honestly wouldn't mind the labor of maintaining the pool. Sounds like a lot of fun my opinion like I said. But anyway, I think you did a good job as always!

Thanks very kindly! I have a way of presenting that combines entertainment with informative content. You can see many other pool videos, some just talk, others show, but no one does it like I do. I can make things look easy, but oftentimes I don't, because I want to present in a fashion akin to what other people will face.
The weekly maintenance once the pool is up and running really doesn't take much time. If the pool doesn't need to be brushed or backwashed and just needs chlorine, I can have everything done quickly for the entire week. Did that this morning in fact. Put in chlorine tabs and shocked the pool. Left it on recirculate, while it was doing that, I watered the flowers with my homemade watering tool, so it took very little time to do that. Then I switched it back to filtration, and done for another week. Got all my outdoor chores done, only thing I didn't do yet because it's not time, is go in and enjoy a few cold ones! That will change later tonight!

@@jaykay18 Your very welcome!!! But yeah, especially the newbies to pool equipment, they really don't want to rely on "hard" labor to clean their pool, they just think that the Algee and the other red-tree shit will just disappear when the chemicals get injected into the pool. Well newsflash for them, ain't gonna happen without the work. Another thing I say "No magic, just physics!".

Still coming back in 2024 to see this series lol, it's like a ritual of mine every summer to watch you setup your pool Jay. Makes me wish I could setup mine this year, but the Liner is completely torn up and needs replacement. Would've had it done too if manufacturers weren't charging a literal arm and a leg for literally any component, but that's how it is now I guess!

Thanks, I really appreciate it! What you can do is think of all the money you're saving not running the pool, water, chemicals, and electricity, not to mention manual labor/sweat equity, and put that towards a new liner. If you can do it by next year, my recommendation is to go see them before it gets warm out--stop in around February or March. This way you can get yourself booked before the rush.

Can't say I blame them, sometimes it seems like robot is just clowning around in the pool!
