Chris Robinson joins Kyle Meredith to talk about Happiness Bastards, the latest album from The Black Crowes and one that marks their first LP of new material since 2009. The frontman tells us how he sees this record as a love letter to rock & roll, how touring their Shake Your Money Maker album for it’s 30th anniversary influenced this latest set, and why he thinks rock lyrics should have a romantic dark side. Robinson goes on to discuss the microscope one is put under as a celebrity, finding new ways to channel anger in a song, putting his CRB side project to bed, and what may come of the leftover songs from this most recent session.

I really used to dig the BC, but hearing Chris talk is just too much for me. He lives in this weird hippy world. Like, deeply! He likes to pretend he’s more famous than he is. That new single SUCKS. It’s nothing more than a mashup of Jealous Again and By Your Side. They used to be super creative. What happened?

Lol dude chris and rich our the crowes, they wrote all the songs and lyrics. The other members added cool elements throughout the years but remove chris and rich there is no black crowes.
