Brought a tear to my eye. Chipper was my favorite player growing up. I wore his #10 and high socks throughout little league and babe ruth. Congrats Chipper. You deserve it. And the 12 voters that didnt vote you in must be Mets or Phillies fans 😉

Well said. My first little league team was the Braves and I thought being put at 3rd base just like my favorite player Chipper Jones was the coolest thing ever. I miss watching him play. He represented everything good about the game.

Chipper Jones my honest opinion is the best switch hitter of his era. My all-time favorite player to ever lace up there cleats! I will forever and always be a diehard Braves fan! Congrats Chipper this honor is well deserved!!

I love how his dad AND Bobby Cox can barely keep it together when he is complimenting them. They both have placed a lot of faith in him and to see it manifest and get the credit in return must be a beautiful feeling.
My favorite baseball player of all time. The reason I begged my mom at 6 years old to sign me up,for tee ball. The reason to this day I love the Atlanta Braves (and that says a lot given the fact I grew up in South Jersey where people live and breathe Philadelphia sports). There was no one other athlete who could pull me away from my Philadelphia allegiance, no football player, no basketball player, no hockey player. I'm a proud Chipper & Braves fan.

Funny thing about this was, as I was watching this live, I wondered to myself if he would mention Mantle at the exact moment that he began to talk about him.
I am a Dodger fan, my mom is a Braves fan....I even told her that Chipper Jones is the one Brave I wished would have been a Dodger...just a Great baseball player..and he ALWAYS looked the part...Congrats #respect 👏👏🤟✌

If for no other reason than having the prettiest swing I have ever seen.
noticable issues after McGriff left. No amount of pitching solved the play off issues and everyone else always came up with a clutch hitter. He gave Braves that.

That Atlanta braves pitching trio was such a good pitching rotation and with chipper, fred mcgriff, andruw jones, and others on the offense the team was stacked

I will never forget witnessing his last home run against the Phils 9/2/12 and his last at bat 10/5/12 for as long as I live
Met him in 2006 and he signed 2 balls for me.1 separately and 1 from the whole team
I stopped watching the Braves for several years after Chipper left. It just wasn't the same without him.
As a life long Braves fan myself, there were many other Braves players I liked seeing play more than C. Jones. Most notably, H. Aaron/D. Murphy/B. Horner/G. Maddux/G. Hubbard/P. Niekro/R.Gant/J.Lofton/T.Pendleton/G. Mathews/F. McGriff/A. Jones/M. Grissom. That said there is absolutely *no denying* his rightful place in Braves lore & or the Hall of Fame. I mean, the way he made the game look so damn easy & effortless was simply astounding to me. Very much in my humble opinion like the great Robinson Cano does these days. Before carelessly getting suspended this year that is, of course. Dummy !!! Anyway congrats from all of we Braves fans, Mr. Larry ‘Chipper’ Jones. For a honour that was/is *very well deserved.* GO BRAVOS !!!

American Patriot - You betcha, my friend. Ron Gant just so happens to be my favourite Braves player of All-Time, as well. Which is saying alot, considering I have been following the Bravos since the early 80’s.

I like Gant also. You must be a little older than me. I jumped on the bandwagon in 91 and got hooked on Braves baseball. Still enjoy watching the 92 nlcs game 7 with Bream sliding in ahead of the tag.

Chip, I would go through the braves line up in my back yard with my dad. This is also how i became a switch hitter. When we were up to you in the line up, I would ask "Dad, left or right?" and he would say "Well, thats for you to decide" Thanks and congrats Chipper, right where your supposed to be.

I named my puppy in 2015 Chipper ever year we watch this together since so he know who he is named after. The state of Georgia an me an my boy Chipper love you Chipper Jones unconditionally forever.
Chipper played short stop on my Babe Ruth team. I played 1st base. He was a dedicated man who worked hard to get to this day. A good man and teammate.

How is chipper Jones retired, in the hall of fame, and Grey. I remember when I was a kid I started watching baseball in 1998, yes I'm only 32, and I remember looking at Jones and he thinking looks like the typical adult. Maybe 30 years old When I watched him play with Sheffield in 2002, and I look back at those days and I'm like man chipper looked so young because now I'm 32 so when I was watching him play he was probably the same age or younger than I am now. It's crazy to see him out of baseball. It's all so crazy to watch these players start as kids, practically, at 18 years old and then see them retire in their late 30s and then go into the Hall of Fame in forties and fifties.

True story: I attended Taylor High School where Chippers daddy was my JV basketball coach. Chipper was 6 or 7 years younger than we were so he was still in grade school. One game we were getting drilled and at half-time Coach Jones was letting us have it but good. "My God! Chipper could do better than this!" One of our better player, Pernell Crowder chimed up, "Then go get him, we need the help".
Chipper made me a baseball fan and a switch hitter I actually stop hitting righty out of high school and just hit lefty after that.

Because he didn’t have a HOF career. He was AWESOME at the top of his game but he didn’t sustain quality play anywhere near long enough. And trust me, I’m aware of some other guys who got in (Baines) that absolutely shouldn’t have, but I don’t think that means we fix the problem by doubling down and
repeating the mistake over and over again.
