I personally like any video where Caleb fabricates his own parts and makes cool stuff: mid-engine eclipse, delica, sleeper Volvo, whatever. You live the life I want to have and I enjoy watching your videos so I can experience what awesome car building is. Just keep it up, long or short builds. 😁

Just wanted to say that probably 95% of the media I consume is through UA-cam, and you are one of the most consistently entertaining and impressive content creators I have ever seen. Your builds are leagues above what most other content creators are doing, and the production quality of your videos has always increased over time. Been watching since the Forza video days and I can't wait to see where you go next 🤙

To each their own, I’d never be bored of your videos or the length of your builds, especially the Drift Truck that’s one that was always a personal goal, and then seeing you build one, just braingasm lol but hey positive progress forward, focus on you, just keep your head up, building towards those goals. 💪🏻

I'd like to see a series where you buy cheaper desirable cars ex... (e36, integra, is300, sc300/400, 240sx, civic, etc...) in a rougher condition, fix them up for a couple videos then try and re-sell them for a profit, will be a bit more fast paced so viewers wont really get bored or seeing the same car for a bunch of videos and you can also use it to generate profit (hopefully). Not to mention its a bit more relatable to us viewers. Just an idea :)

My guy, you were ripping down that mountain! Our Talon is not really a downhill bike dude, you're wild! Glad you didn't do any tree work. About the builds... I can see losing motivation, etc, but the mid engine eclipse was fantastic. Having a dude from Ferarri help you with the geometry, and fabricating every single piece of that car.. So cool. Same with the drift truck. Do whatever you think is best, you will only grow from here. You're making the best car build content on UA-cam, in my opinion. 👊

On the Volvo, I think you've done great with it, but going for faster quarter miles doesn't feel like your "thing". Your build like the Rally Miata, the Eclipse, the drift truck, even the bus/Delica, those builds are unique, at least compared to what I usually see online. I think straight line racing is something that a lot of high sub count creators are already doing and it feels more dull than your "usual content". Note that I love all your content, no doubt!

The Rally Miata was my favorite build on the channel. I started watching the channel with the build series back before the engine swap, I'll miss it for sure but I'm also extremely excited to see what comes next, especially with how good you've gotten at fabrication.

Hey long time viewer here, I think the fact that you take UA-cam as a hobby transpire in your videos. For me it's more enjoyable than seeing other bigger channels go through cars like it's nothing. Sure long builds get boring but the build quality is top notch. And for me I quite enjoyed the roadtrip. Nice change of pace

    • @befalcon9498
      @befalcon9498 7 місяців тому +3

Agreed. It still feels like the passion is there when it's a hobby. Other channels I enjoy do loose the magic when it's a job. But like mcm this feels like a passion and caleb has fun. It sucks he feels he needs to treat it more of a business but I do get it. I just don't want him to loose the spark of passion and fun

  • @Aiwavalentine
    @Aiwavalentine 7 місяців тому +9

sentimentally attached to your build is really one reason I watch your builds over anyone else, your really the only youtube car builder I still really watch. I can tell you put your heart and soul into a build which make me know your building it with passion and not to make a $. Something like money will always come and go, but good memories are fleeting so don't make the mistake of trying to force it into a business let it slowly grow.
"making cupholder for my miata" which then gave me ideas and push me back on to fusion 360 and made me fire up the 3d printer to start prototyping new cup holder for my k5 blazer which was missing and then push me even further to creating a usb hub bracket for my nc miata. There for making compelling content to make me get that sruge to work on something as simple as a "cup holder".
idk this is a ramblings of one of your subscribers, just keep doing you.

I feel like personally, what I really love is the long builds. Like fabricating and rebuilding the rally miata, with the new suspension and roll cage, and also the eclipse, with the suspension geometry and cage. I love to watch you build these massive projects where you are basically making a car from scratch. And the length of it in my opinion is not a bad thing. It sort of teases you for the finished product and paces the content so we have time to enjoy it. And since the eclipse burnt down, with the exception of the drift truck which has been very patchy in videos and content, we haven't really gotten so much of that. I feel like these big projects and how they take so long is part of what makes your channel so unique. The only thing I would do differently is stick to the project, dont take so many short breaks where you create other content. Cause then the audience loses interest too. Thats how I see it, I hope you can do something with my point of view.

Been a viewer for 8 years and, man, I know exactly what you're talking about. I've always felt like you treated the channel as a hobby, and I loved that. But, at the back of my head, I've also been thinking about what's actually good for the channel -- I've been thinking about what I want to see vs. what you need to do to grow.
When I think about it, I would rather see you grow than to cater to viewers like me. I want you to have the success that I know you deserve. So I'm not just giving you my approval, but also my encouragement. You're making the right choice.

I think these LA videos haven’t done as well as you’d like not because of the Volvo, but because it’s simply not your usual type of video. In my opinion, the Volvo is suffering the inverse of the rally Miata. Where the rally Miata was stumbling because you were making it more “boring”, the Volvo is falling off because you’ve been upgrading it for so long. Chasing nines is cool, but I personally think it’s time to try something new and I believe a few other commenters are in the same boat. I think a new project will be perfect for you now that you’ve done the event with Hoonigan. As for the type of “compelling” content, keep up the amazing work. We love watching everything you do, even if it is cup holders for the rally Miata. You post the videos, and we’ll watch. As for newcomers, I’m not sure. Keep up that amazing work, and keep those videos coming! Your content is amazing and we love it, no matter which form it takes!

Tbh I love watching you doing the fabrication work. It really shows that you enjoy doing it for the fabrication and not for the long goal of getting to sell the car away. Also, you getting sentimentally attached to the builds is refreshing. I've been watching other youtubers building their cars, ripping them so hard that they break and then forget about them. You take care of the cars and that is what I personally like. Of course you need to sell the cars since you can't endlessly hoard projects at your garage or home, it's just natural. What I would want to see from you in the future is a real drag racing project, not just a 10-sec volvo which is still basically a daily, but a 100% fully focused specialty vehicle. Sometimes you concentrate too much on making the car daily drivable.

I can easily simp over your channel because I can see the passion you have for your builds. I like watching bigger channels do builds too but they don’t have that same charm you do. The eclipse burning down was definitely something I shed a tear over, but take it as a sign that it kept someone else from getting hurt if they had won the car. I did a full NB swap into my NA then turboed it, just to have an Altima destroy it less than 10 months later. So I took that opportunity to get a new shell and do a cleaner swap that I did the first time. Now that car is getting an LS. All setbacks are there to build you as person. It’s all in the way you look at it. You got this bro❤

so thats how I feel about this video:
    - I god damn hate you for selling the rally Miata but I get it
    - What I like with your builds is that you are emotionnaly attached to them. the absolute opposite of you is "goonzquad" - they work on a car for a few weeks and then ditch it. In opposition to many youtubers, you are finishing your builds and thats why I love you! (B is for build I am still waiting for the 1k HP from the burned Huracan! - and for many other builds that have been ditched years ago that you still own)
    - I love when you build things, even if it's just cup holders!
    - Going with the faster rate of build might kill the spirit of the channel, where you do everything, its not a build just for show, its something that work. You inspire me for the build I want to do on my car, because of how you do it.
    - I always struggle to get into your different vehicles series: I saw the bus, the rally Miata, the Toyota panda warrior thing, the Toyota 4x4 (idk the name anymore), most of the drift truck, the Eclipse and the fit. I did always struggle to enjoy the Volvo and Molly.
    - for me the rally Miata was really a part of the channel that you shouldn't have left behind, and you could have tried to compete in other categories than rallycross, like maybe going on private properties with woods and small trails and ripping it there!
I hope that you get what I mean, and I don't think I'm the only one feeling like that.
I think that you could capitalise on the fact that you love your car and taking a project always one step further than what anyone would do, rather than joining the youtube gang of "I buy - do my project - then abandon it".
also trying not to be emotional with cars might hurt you long therm (mentally) - and I wouldn't want you to need the help of betterhelp because of that 😉(since thats the video sponsor)
    Sincerely,

I think part of what makes the channel so great is that we (the viewers) can tell that you’re passionate about what you’re building. Seeing you enjoy your builds, both the process of building and driving them, is the best part of each video. A big reason why i continue to watch this channel is because it's what i dream of doing, you're still a normal guy just learning and putting in the work. To simplify it you're like Adam lz quality builds with the grit and realism of the boostedboiz team. Seeing you learn how to literally restore a car, paint, fabricate, wiring etc. Is why i watch. Once the reasoning behind the sale of the R Miata was explained, I have a lot of respect for Caleb. It's not an easy thing to part ways with a car you spent so many hours working on. To front up on camera, and not just do a post of YT or Insta, takes courage. Real happy seeing all that you've achieved over the years.

I agree with some other comments about straight line racing not being your exact specialty or even that crazy interesting besides of course maybe one video about it to show off what you've built and how it's actually capable. I personally come and watch you because I love the crazy one-off unique builds you do. I really enjoy watching your fab work and solve problems to make cars into the impossible. Your creativity, problem-solving, and skill in the shop are what make you so entertaining. AWD Miata? Who's doing it besides Gingium? Mid Engine Eclipse (which was still such a fantastic series even with out a perfect ending)? No one but Gingium is building that. That's what I love. Just my own individual 2 cents, but anything you do IMO is going to be entertaining as long as you put that Gingium touch on it. Not that it matters but I've never thought that your content or anything was any worse since the eclipse, it's been great then and it's still great now. Drift Truck v2 is by far my favorite build of yours. Keep up the great work man , I look forward to every video.

I normally don't react on videos, but I've known your channel just for a week and have binge watched allmost all your videos. What I noticed is that your videos are very well put together but the titles and your thumbnails are a lot of times all over the place. If you do a build series I would recommend to use the same title with part 'X' behind them. For example: Rebuilding A Volvo To A Monster Sleeper | Part 1.
In this way it's more understandable for every (new) viewer and you can put important information behind the title or in the thumbnail itself.
Also collabs with bigger car youtubers whould make your channel grow and maybe even get your own crew? That way you can finish builds faster and keep viewers more engaged and have more diverse personalities in your videos.
Hope you figure it out! Stay true to yourself Caleb you're awesome.

kinda disappointed to see the Rallyata go but it is probably for the best. i love your channel because the builds you do and have done are all really down to earth while being insane at the same time(eclipse, rallyata, volvo etc.) looking forward to see what you do in the future.

I came for Molly, I stayed for the incredible passion you have for your builds to always go above and beyond. Your channel has always felt very real, and that's something you don't want to loose by trying to copy the formula of quick builds lots of other car channels are using to blow up on, because that seems to always have fleeting interest and a hollow feel. I think you have a large core fan base that stayed for Caleb rather than some build, as long as you are true to yourself in whatever you do next I am confident your channel and personal happiness will grow

Some great points in that video. I'm upset that the cars gone, but that's because I've also gotten attached. I'd love to see some stage rally in future. However I'm super excited to see what comes next, as the fresh builds are always the best.

I’ve been watching for a few years now and the vibe I got from this video is to cut ties from projects and start new but I think that’s your problem. I can recall more projects that have come and go than I can recall I think you’re known for. I believe the difference in the UA-camrs you compare yourself to is they use the success in “now” of the videos that do well to set up the next project and continue to evolve. Where you let the interest go stale and then try to juice the next video for views. Chase for 9s in the Volvo, make that a hero car. Make it do wheelies, blow the engine trying and use the videos to fuel the next iteration of that car. You have a great personality. You have an incredible eye for design and fabrication. I think that’s what your viewers come for. We get sentimental about these projects as well, invested, and to see them go when they don’t bring you views seems like a throwaway.

You should for sure do a stage rally build, there are tons of people who want to get into it but don't know where to begin. I'm one of those people. I've been following since the Miata was lifted the first time and I think of all your builds that you've done, the drift truck has been my favorite to watch. Closely followed by the bus. And I guess that's because I'm a Mazda guy die hard but also love the idea of converting a bus so it's really just playing on different people's likes. I also really enjoy the long and depth builds, but that's just me. You do what is best for your channel and I will keep watching

I think the reason why the Volvo videos aren't doing so well is cause you aren't really using the car for the sleeper purposes. Maybe go to meetings, Mexico film some street races and reactions of the car.

the drift truck is what got me into the channel. I'm a heavy structural fabricator (iron worker) and would love to be doing the type of intricate fab thats required for building cars. you have a wicked set up, making your own brackets and stuff. love all that. same reason I follow Rob Dahm. I'm all about the "how and why" of the build journey more than the end result.
    Keep it up ✌

Not that I don't love the thing to bits, but I just got an itch that my current car cannot scratch anymore. You may have just given me that one last push I needed to just f*** it and go full send with a clean slate

I personally love the Volvo and would hate to see it go. I think it would be bad a$$ to see it evolve into a 9 sec car, even though I think it could touch high 8's eventually. It also be cool to see you take her on a drag n drive event. Truck build is amazing also. Just keep building and I'll keep watching!

I started watching for the rally Miata, but the eclipse is really what got me interested. I love the in depth builds. Getting the car, stripping it down, gutting it, tube chasis, engine swap, all the way up to troubleshooting and dyno session. I’d be sad to see big builds go, but I’ll still be watching no matter what comes

Been waiting for you to talk about selling the all wheel drive Miata. Guy post your ad in one of the FB miata groups I am in asking what people thought about it. He was not familiar with you, which your channel was point out to him. Personally your videos are one of few I go full screen kick back and enjoy, longer the better to me. But I understand you need to do what is right for your life. Have a feeling what you come up with that suits your needs, I and bet others will be here still watching your work.

I feel like a large reason why a lot of the different videos dont do well is because you have cornered yourself with the kind of content you do. Doing solely fab/making content is great, I personally love it as a maker but it alienates those who don't understand/like that kind of content. This means you're cultivating an audience of mostly people who only like the making content so your other content doesnt do well. I feel like the most recent push for content where you do stuff with the cars will do wonders for future videos/series like this. Keep up the great work dude. You're a huge inspiration for what I do.

Hey buddy, I think you're doing a great job with your channel! I've learned so much from you and all your builds. Your honesty in the success and failures is truly relatable. You have inspired me to challenge myself and embark on a build of my own that for the longest time was an unattainable dream. It's also a Volvo 240 build but slightly different than yours. Because of you, I learned that you can swap a ford 8.8 into the Volvo to handle the power. I'm still gathering parts for my build but have a decent collection so far. I'm putting a 1JZ-vvti into mine. I have the engine, transmission, clutch, flywheel, motor mounts and cross member. Also a ford 8.8 rear end for it. Some suspension parts and miscellaneous things. Please don't be discouraged and stay true to yourself with your work. All your builds are relatable and so informative and inspiring! I love your channel and content! Stay strong and keep up the good work my friend!!!

OG sub here from hot glue gun days. I will always watch your videos! That being said it comes down to what type of channel you want to have and the audience you are targeting.
Western Champlin , whistlindiesel- fast pace high destruction, mindless fun videos crazy views
Taylor ray, b is for build, stance works, rob dam - deep in depth build videos, mapping out the entire build, heavy fab, loved for the build format
Gears and gasoline - crazy video production quality, a lot of building, a lot of racing
Tj hunt, Evan shanks, Dustin Williams etc - high end builds, viewers live vicariously through them and their purchases
All comes down to what you want to do and the audience you are trying to target. All of these channels have high views and sub counts, and is loved by literally almost everyone. Pick one of their formulas and go from there to fully develop your own thing. That doesn’t mean your style is wonderful. But if a certain methodology doesn’t work , don’t be afraid to see what UA-cam success is working currently and pivot.
If all else fails just by a lambo, instant views lol.
Anyways , great to see your fab growth. I’m ready to move on from the Volvo as well. I love it but this story of that Volvo is completed. This road trip closed that chapter. Best of luck.

Caleb,I’m a fan and will always watch your content. I respect your growth over the years and I like that you do builds that interest you but I’m glad your realizing what you need to do to grow your business. I’m telling you if you bought and built a 90’s JDM legend that needed work like a Supra, RX-7, r34, or something similar or a wrecked super car your channel would blow up! I know that may not be your style exactly but that’s what the people want to see.

There are a lot of reasons that videos may or may not do well. Be careful not to chase views/trends so much it distances you from what makes you actually enjoy working on cars and making videos. As a viewer, I connect the most with the YTers that are excited about what they are doing. It's fun to watch you because you love fabricating and figuring out creative solutions for ambitious goals. That's cool AF. Best of luck, Caleb. We'll be here!

I enjoy every video you put out for us to watch and I’ve been watching since Molly got her first turbo, that being said, I think your channel is built mostly around the building of the car, and not so much the vlog side of things. Since the past few videos have been more vlogs, which have still been entertaining, I think I speak for the community when I say I more enjoy watching you work, problem solve, and test rather than watching you drive across the country.
