Starting from 1:12, regarding build-up of protozoa, please cite your source. Also, the statement, It will damage them, it will kill them, spread them to other butterflies. Again, source

If you cut your tropical milkweed all the way to the ground won't that help eliminate what is bad for the monarch?

I have 10 tropical milkweed plants in my garden. If I cut them back, and remove all of the leaves in the winter, is it still a viable food source, or will it harm the caterpillars?

It will still harm the caterpillar. The tropical milkweed also interferes with the Monarchs' migration.

I live in Virginia and I have the orange milkweed. It does die down and go dormant. Does it kill the Protozoa?

you are good to go. Don't worry since you are in a cold wintering climate. Also if the orange milkweed is Asclepias tuberosa, then you are growing a native in your area. Enjoy.

Save Monarch butterflies? I have some in my property without milkweed. My wild birds control the population of butterflies. I will see a couple every year. But that's good enough. I will plant more native flowers, not for butterflies, but for birds. When you have insects, birds will come and serve as their control. I want to plant milkweed for my native bees and to suppress gophers and voles. You can't just think about butterflies. You have to think about a balanced ecosystem.

You do realize that the ecosystem is unbalanced since the monarch butterfly is endangered and these people want to save them because we want to BALANCE it out, you just made a fool of yourself

Monarch butterflies are marked endangered. Monarch butterflies are pollinators making them very important.
