My father was working in Nagaland since 1956. Before that time the NE was called NEFA. When Nagaland got its statehood my father was awarded the President’s medal. He worked in almost all districts of Nagaland. He even spoke one of the tribal dialect called Sangtem. Could understand almost all the local dialects. He even was kidnapped by the underground activists but was let off as the commander of the outfit knew my father as they worked together earlier. In 1964 I started my education in the old Little Flower School in Kohima later studied in St. Peters school in Shillong. Over a period of time I moved out to pursue my studies but kept going back to visit my parents. I remember going camping, fishing staying deep in the jungles staying for a few days. These experiences were mind blowing. I can truly say from the bottom of my heart that I love the NE specially Nagaland. Lots of Love ❤❤
Without Buyers - Even Rami Desai is not knowing the complete details about north East Community - In Manipur Meitei is Hindu Meitei and Only one community and one language , Naga in Manipur has 24 community and 24 + language , Naga at Nagaland - has again another 30_community and language , Mizo in Mizoran has the same like 14+ and Kuki has the same like 16_ community and 16 + language. so community you have to define and knowing first then explain,,, what you are all podcast is more of the political stunt and advertising her name. - Meitei at Manipur or AT Assam ,. Tripura and Even Bangladesh Silet all are one community - one language and Pure Hindu by ancient Era - Panthoibi in Meitei language is same Santoshi Mata or Durga Maa, And There are many more . In North East Hill people can come buy land at Valley but Valley people cant buy Land at Hill Area .. it is all across the North East. Major Comunity of Hindu in North East is Assameese , Bengali and Meitei - So Called Manipuris - Sharma, Barua, BezBarua, Singh and Singha - Bhardwaj Etc.
@@EricHealthcare khakkkk thuiiiiii don't spread false information. Hinduism was almost spread to Manipur in 18th century. Our descendants is Tang Shang Dynasty. Thank you once again for your dedication to amplifying the stories that truly matter. Please keep up the excellent work! Looking forward for more such podcast in anticipation.
I absolutely love how she intentionally tries to carefully choose her words, especially since it’s an extremely sensitive topic to discuss so openly. The "old man sitting in Myanmar" was a good one, haha, but things are getting way beyond that now. I sincerely hope you bring out Part 2!

Thank you, Ranveer, for bringing attention to such an important topic, and a special thanks to Rami Niranjan Desai for explaining it with such clarity and depth. I sincerely hope this video reaches every corner of India, helping to shed light on Manipur's situation. Looking forward to more such meaningful conversations, and we warmly invite you to visit our beautiful region soon!
Dr . Bimol Akoijam who is a well known professor in JNU , Delhi and who is also a Member of Parliament representing manipur would be the best person for you to Address the issues from the roots , and I'm very thankful to you for addressing the concerns and issues of what have been happening in manipur ✨ and I pray that we could live peacefully like we use to ❤️
Thank you both for the potcast about the Manipur endless conflicts. For more information about this conflict please invite Dr. Bimol Akoijam (Manipur Mp) into next episode potcast. 🙏🙏🙏
Minor gripe I have with these two: They mentioned about the Naga insurgency being the oldest in India, but tip-toed around and avoided talking about the origin of the insurgency. It’s not about lack of development or the mainland ignoring Nagas. It’s about the betrayal by the Indian government and ego of Nehru which forced a whole group of people unwillingly into a union. And these folks are talking about the alienation and disregard of the Northeast region. How ironic. 😅 Today, the insurgency continues because the Indian union is treating Naga political groups like how the British Raj treated INC during the freedom struggle, using carrot and stick policies. Note: I’m not a hardline supporter of Naga insurgency, but I hate it when media persons pretend to care while maligning, bastardizing and conveniently leaving out facts from history. These factors are what breeds misinformation and ignorance. They should either talk about it genuinely, or they don’t do it at all.
Well put. But we understand why they chose to speak the way they do or play down the Naga issues. They prefer to talk about the hot topic of Meitei vs Kuki as it generates attention. The Naga issue is an extremely sensitive topic even for them. Anybody who has studied the subject with an open mind knows that the Nehru's government, along with the Myanmar government did dirty to the Naga, followed by a series of betrayal. Nobody or no policies can change the fact that the Naga are not Indian. The formation of NNC and later NSCN is the proof. Kuknalim!
First of all I would like to thank you Ranveer and your team for putting such a great effort and choosing the right person to discuss on the most sensitive topic. And thank you Rami Ma'am for explaining each and every bit of the topic without any bias. I would like to suggest Sir Angomcha Bimol Akoijam to be the next expert of your potcast on the same topic. May your wishes come true and thank you for your sincere efforts.

Thank you Ranveer for bringing up a much needed burning topic from our zone for discussion to your show. Ramiji has done so much justice, unbiased conversation. I am Assamese from Assam and done masters in Anthropology. So loved this genuine concern.
I am from a district in Nagaland called dimapur and belong to a hindu community residing since ancient times in the land of dimapur called the kachari tribe. by far , we all are living a very peaceful and quiet life and there is no really any severe situations occuring in dimapur which I'm very grateful . Lemme tell you, dimapur is the only district in the state where all the transport and travel can be possible via train and air.

I am from the Northeast, and at the end of this episode, I am not pissed off at all. Thank you, Ramvir and Rami Niranjan Desai, for talking about the Northeast, not just its negatives but also its positives. Conversations are always the first step in bringing people together. Unity is a two-way process: just as the mainland needs to know us, we must also make an effort from our side to know you. However, instead of overly romanticizing our rich past, something many Indians tend to do, we need to focus on moving forward from where we are, right now. Old India was rich because of its tolerance for differences, other cultures, and other beliefs. Old India had the ability to coexist, so why can’t we? Let us look forward, respect one another, and set aside divisions based on religion, culture, or beliefs. Let us meet each other as equals, as Indians. We should not define ourselves solely by our temples or churches, but by our shared humanity and vision for the future.
As a manipuri n i also love to watch ur podcast n it means a lot n Thnks so much for bringing this topic up at this podcast where all over India is watching... "Our dear PM" The Gujrati PM doesn't give a SHIT about Manipur or the NE troubles. He and the BJP are concerned about electoral numbers, that's all. The numbers are in North and Central India.

Loved this episode. Like the rest of India, Northeast India shines with its profound uniqueness, where every community embraces its rich cultural heritage with pride. This region serves as a living tapestry of traditions and diversity, and any structural development must harmonize with the preservation of these treasures. Moreover, Northeast India, with its breathtaking beauty and serene landscapes, holds the potential to become a hub for spiritual rejuvenation and mental well-being. Its cultural ties and shared heritage with East and Southeast Asia further position it as a bridge of connection, fostering deeper bonds and mutual understanding between India and its eastern neighbors.

When discussing the Northeast of India, it’s essential to recognize its incredible natural beauty and lush greenery. While development is crucial for progress, it shouldn’t come at the expense of peace, which should be our top priority. Education plays a vital role in fostering understanding and openness. It’s essential to encourage spirituality in our communities. I believe that all religions can unite for a grand concert of prayer, ideally held in Manipur, to promote peace and harmony among us all. When we come together with respect and love, we can create an environment where divine energies can flourish, leading to positive changes in our society. This unity reflects the essence of what India stands for diversity and togetherness. Let’s prioritize peace, education, and spirituality for a brighter future in the Northeast.

And Meitei was not evolve from a single seed. There are many Meiteis whose are Tai race. And many of us are descendants of Tang Shang Dynasty of China. We were never Hindu. Minor gripe I have with these two:
They mentioned about the Naga insurgency being the oldest in India, but tip-toed around and avoided talking about the origin of the insurgency. It’s not about lack of development or the mainland ignoring Nagas. It’s about the betrayal by the Indian government and ego of Nehru which forced a whole group of people unwillingly into a union.
And these folks are talking about the alienation and disregard of the Northeast region. How ironic. 😅
Today, the insurgency continues because the Indian union is treating Naga political groups like how the British Raj treated INC during the freedom struggle, using carrot and stick policies.
Wow yes..
