@@margraveofgadsden8997 Why not? They may not have nuclear weapons but they can try to arrange a quarantine and bombard the city for like weeks and months until there's only rubble. I think they have enough explosives for that (you don't need super-modern rockets for that - everything from the soviet era will work just fine)
The other thing is that I'm not sure it's even possible to make an effective quarantine around Jakarta or any other major city with any amount of resources. And if it's not 100% isolated area then there's no point in this destruction at all I guess, as the risks of this thing not doing anything are high

She's the expert on this subject. There are 14 missing people, possibly more out there spreading the infection. Plus the fungus is already in the flour, so who knows how many have consumed it. She could have, someone in her family could have, it's not worth it to take the risk. I've seen theories that she might have already been infected, due to the fungus stretching toward her in the autopsy scene, and her shaking while holding the cup could be muscle spasms. Of course it could also just be nerves making her shake, as she gains more information and realizes just how screwed everyone is. Anyway, she probably knows the chances of her or a family member being infected are quite high, so better for her to just spend time with her loved ones while she can.

Here the country is Indonesia, they have few military confrontations in the last 5 decades, all of them with local groups. So, the decision of bombing isn't as easy and it's not taken lightly. @FengLengshun 8 місяців тому

@@adammclaughlin845 No? Dictators drags their feet too. It is literally because China dragged its feet about Covid (even supressing the doctor that broke the news that they had to apologize for later) that it got out of hand. And then they dragged their feet with stopping their zero covid again. This is also the reason why their unemployment, construction, and population dominoes started falling.
It's not just China either. Putin is basically so incompetent he plunged his country into an even worse long-term crisis - even if he won, their economy and demographics is still in a massive problem. He wasn't decisive with Progozhin either - it takes until a month of questioning about his competency before he took any actions.
This is true for many other dictators. The only dictator that I would argue is halfway decent would be Singapore and they're more of the exception that proves the norm. Especially considering on the other hand it has been European Union driving world politics in recent years, with their various regulations that can bend the knees of even Apple.

I noticed this show tries to mislead you into assuming something cliche is about to happen, but always delivers something grounded and real. They never focus on spectacle. Like Mehmet said, it seemed like the military was arresting the scientist until it was revealed that they are in a dire situation and actually need help from an expert. The way the general and scientist had mutual respect for each other was a nice touch, but the general was figuratively at his knees as the scientist explained things. There are tons of scenes in tv and cinema that should be shown at acting schools to analyze how to do a scene. THIS should be one of them, the tension and horror just silently builds throughout this scene as the actress takes in the situation being explained to her, I love how as the conversation continues the camera slowly closes in on the doctor showing how the realization of how screwed everyone is seeps into her as she does her best to compose herself and ultimately begrudgingly accept’s her demise. Also how the general gets the same reaction the second she tells him to start bombing Everything.

2:45 The military officer's face here is really terrifying, realizing it was over for them all.

I think about this scene even more than the The Walking Dead! Its that terrifying, like being on the Titanic and realizing your not going to make it off before it sinks.

This actress totally nailed this scene and the gravity they were trying to convey. Great reaction from the general too. Excellent work.

It’s incredible how this short part of the episode and the larger series was so well done that I was completely invested in this part of the world. Stunningly good adaptation.
