Great snow roof removal information. During a blizzard one year, a guy with a snow rake wanted $30.00 to get the snow off my roof. I was more than happy with that price & had the $30.00 cash that he wanted.. Some of my neighbors refused, & were out trying to do it themselves & were running into all kinds of issues as nobody had a roof rake, they were going on the roofs with a foot of wet heavy snow drifted on to them trying to shovel off. One guy stepped thru his sun roof, & another broke a window throwing the snow down. Most of the houses were single story, & a $60.00 roof rake is well worth the investment.. I just bought a roof rake as I can still handle one, & I am sure I will be borrowing it out.
Another tip cause I do snow removal for a living,on my customers roofs each time it snows I go around the whole house with a roof rake and clean 1-2 ft off,you will Never have Ice then.If you get ice when it warms the roof will back up and Leak.Even on a new roof it works its way under as it has no place to go.
Wow you guys really copped the snow over there! Are there different reg's in high snow areas compared to dryer parts of the US regarding roof framing to deal with that type of load?
Hi Saul, No not the floor heat type of mats BUT there are companies that make metal sheet panels that are heated and go on the top side of the roof. I don't know much about them - sorry

Maybe hook up a garden hose to the washer warm faucet to get rid of snow on the roof! It may also can be used on the 2 story part.
Square foot or cubic foot?

what's forgotten about snowloads is if you live in a area where there is frequent earth quakes you don't want to be having a load over your head .
Thanks for the suggestions. I decided to either let the sun do it or hire a young professional.
Dealing with heavy snow on your roof: removal tips and snow load concerns
Can I install electric radiant heat mats between the rafters to melt the snow from underneath my roof?

We all need to move to Florida!
Where do you buy the rakes?
The snow rake is much easier to use than the guy in the video shows lmfao
I guess that depend on the roof angle, height, snow depth and weight (wetness) of the snow
@A Concord Carpenter / ToolBoxBuzz yes I was comparing the average joe to this video. He makes it look difficult to a point lol
Thats house is not well insulated AT ALL with all of those iceicles
Its an old house with smaller depth rafters - correct
