Hi Mark , another great review. I actually bought my Zontes ZT125 U1 after watching your review of your mates bike. One year on and it's been brilliant , thanks ! Following that , watched this FX8 review and ordered one , arrived quickly from Amazon ad yesterday. Easy to fit to helmet but the WOW was when I tested it. Once switched on , the fm radio comes on with a 3 sec press of the + button and the quality is superb , clear and with a good bass. Keep pressing the + button once and it moves up a channel until you find one you like. It links to your phone easily and I then tested it making and receiving calls. Crystal clear again and because you hear in both earpieces , it's like the person is stood next to you. This was all done in my back garden with the helmet on. It's alright , nobody saw me. Ha ha. Will test the intercom bike-to-bike when next out with my mate on a ride and update comment. Thanks again , Paul in Eastleigh.

Me and three mates bought FX6 's to chat while riding we didn't want to spend big on something for occasional use. The sound quality and range are great and we are impressed.They are great fun and really make riding as a group great fun The only issue is pairing them which can be a bit hit and miss was hoping the FX8 might have Mesh?
Any comments out there about the noise cancelling qualities of these units? Are earplugs still recommended ? Thanks from Canada.
Hi Ron I don't use earplugs with these as my helmet is very quiet anyway and if I'm on the phone people can't hear any wind noise ....a very good unit for the money

Thanks for the review! How is the audio quality? Can you hear it at motorway speeds and above? Have you found it uncomfortable to put your helmet on after the earphones are installed?
Hi Sami the audio is LOUD AND CLEAR at motorway speeds and didn't effect the helmet

Thanks for video we bought a pair and found them a bit hit and miss sometimes they connect sometimes not, also couldn’t get intercom and phone to work together so they’re going back. We will try a replacement incase we just got a bad set otherwise cheap and cheerful but not recommended 😔.
Hi Mark, just watched your review of the Fodsports FX8 motorcycle intercom and just wanted to say its a great review. I have the Fodsports M1-S pro and it too has all the functions you mention but has no fm radio. I bought mine from amazon for around £75.00 and its well made and great value. Cheers Mark & ride safe.

Hey there, thanks for the review. It says up to 8 riders on the description but i’m sceptical about it. Do you have any solid info that this pairs up with 8 devices?

Great review Mark, very good. One little thing. Each unit can pair to 3 (three) different devices/units. You'd normally pair your mobile, that takes one directly, an external GPS would take a second one. The rest are daisy chained.

Hi Mark just wondering, you mentioned you already own V6's how do they compare? IN australia the v6 is selling $130 for a pair vs $205 for the FX8 Im wondering if its worth spending the extra money? I just want it for me and my brother when we go riding
Hi Jordan the V6 is fine as an intercom but the buttons are near impossible to use while you're riding and the music isn't very loud the fx8 is much better all round I'd say get the fodsports cheers mark

Hi. Do you need to have cellular service to use these? I dirt bike with a group of guys and most of the time in the woods we do not have cellular service. Do these headsets all connect directly to the other headsets or do they need cell phones to be able to connect them?

2 Questions - Great review - Thank You. 1. Can this be used without a helmet as Incase you are hiking or running (of course would have to clip the device on clothing)? Also, can you use Bluetooth headsets with this device instead of the wired mic and speakers? Thanks
Hi it bluetooth connects to phones for music and calls etc so I guess it would bluetooth connect to a headset but the wires for the speakers connect directly into the
Base unit so I think it's going to be hard to do what you are trying to achieve here regards mark

Yes I do ...I'm still using mine and have been 100% impressed so far no issues at all :)
One of mine has a faulty battery (presumably- as it dies after a few hours - compared to the days battery on the other ) . I cannot see how the batteries are replaced, bit disappointing , otherwise a good product .

Hi Neil I'm sure you can you just press the intercom button to override the sat nav commands...it has group intercom function

Yes you can you have to press the intercom button to talk again :)
One small question. When 2 rider are conected..they are conected up to ?? How many meters ? Tnx
Hi it works on line of sight so about 1000 m but it will get a bit distorted if your buddy goes out of sight say round a corner but generally very impressive performance cheers mark
Could I purchase the cardo mix and JBL speaker replacements and plug them into this and they work? I mean they just use standard connections right?

Put the intercom in pairing mode then it finds the sat Nav blue tooth

I have the Fx8 air. Works awesome. I have a question I could use some help with. So, while connected to my phone the device works awesome. I've even connected to face book messenger video call and it works great. However, when I want to document my ride or record video on my phone (while connected to fx8air) the volume/mic transfers to the phone. My goal is to record video on phone while using the mic from the fx8air . I don't understand why messenger video worked but recoding video alone didn't keep input on the mic instead of phone. I have a Samsung galaxy note 20 ultra5g.
Hi Derrick ...I have quite a few questions like this about every intercom ...scala senna also etc etc ....it seems for the most part they all work ok but there is always something with EVERY intercom that doesn't quite work ...sorry I can't help with your problem....maybe try the fodsports Facebook

Thanks for the review video! Do you if instead of using the included mic and speakers, can you just plug in a set of wired earphones and mic, similar to what people use with their phones?
It comes with an optional wired mic you can use instead of the boom mic but I'm not sure about using the different earphones that you mentioned regards mark

Thanks a lot mark for this review, today I tried it for the first time and paired it to a senna of a friend of mine. Great quality but can you tell me what I have to do? I got a phone call and my friend was in on the call😅🤭.
And how can I use it as a intercom and when nothing is spoken I can hear music (FM or music from my Bluetooth connected phone??) Hope you can help me out😊😊
Hi paul...ive only used it as an intercom with a friends senna with nothing else going,ie no music etc and it works great...and when ever ive had a phone call ive been out on my own listening to music then the phone call rings in over the music..so sorry ive never yet been in your situation youve described ...i think a bit of trial and error is all you can do good luck regards mark
whats the intercom button for?? Isn't the general idea of an intercom comms system to be open all the time?

"Chinglish" lol. Thanks for the review Mark. One problem with FX8 is the auto answer function. Whenever i get a call, the bluetooth simply answer automatically, how can i simply turn that off that auto answer and press the function button to answer it.
Strange. . mine doesn't auto answer I have to push the function button ... I'll look into it and get back to you :)
Try doing this ....long press intercom, previous and next buttons at the same time for 3s that should turn auto answer on/off

im thinking of the FODSPORTS FX6 Motorcycle Helmet Intercom Bluetooth Headset HiFi Interphone 1000M as its half the cost. so if it did some how fly off its not that bad to just get a new one

Maybe put the fodsports into search mode Bluetooth for the senna if that doesn't work do the opposite search for the fodsports from the senna

Nice review,, rhank you. I've read the comments and not certain of the answer. If listening to music from your phone and someone tries to talks to you via the com, does it automatically switch from music to intercom?

Hi again Matt well I've tried that and I'm afraid it's a no ....if you are listening to music the intercom is off and so if someone starts talking it doesn't come through ...I mainly ride on my own and just listen to music or if I am with someone then I'm not listening to music as I'm chatting on the intercom all the time

@Matt Burger if you are listening to music and the other rider wishes to talk to you, they can just press their own intercom/function button and it will interrupt your music. You can do the same via your function and/or intercom button ( can't remember which one it was). You can't share the music with the other rider however across both. I have only just set ours up this afternoon, not used them on the bikes yet.

@@markpulling12 that is the issue I've had with most comes in the past. They struggle with reception. Even highend units like Cardo bold and interphone Avent etc. I've owned all the about. How is the sound quality?

loved your review I bought a sena smh5 so I could connect to my sat nav but the sound was very tinny so I bought a sena smh10r its just as bad it gives me a headache the fodsport is probably better

Music I use Spotify ,just pair it to your phone ,and intercom has to be paired up with your friends all the instructions for this are on UA-cam or instructions you get with it ....good luck mark

@@chrisgemmell2742 yes mine is still working like new yes the speakers are slim ...most helmets have cut outs in the foam for the speakers

Some of the other more expensive sets MESH? does this one mesh automatically when you lose sight or when you turn it on again??
Hi Tony if you loose sight then yes it pairs back again ....but Initially you'll always have to manually pair it to another same unit or another brand
Even the likes of cardo you have pair it up before use

Hi, I’m looking for an intercom for use when horse riding and this looks like it hits the spot (thanks for the review). We currently use V6/V4 but need something for more people to use. We can’t use the Velcro earphones as they won’t fasten to a horse riding hat. I see that there is a jack plug for the mic but would it work when plugging in a with a referee headset (one that loops over your ear and has a mic) in to the jack socket or is it purely just for mic use only?

noise cancellation doesn't work at speed don't buy, we have 4 in our group all the same problem, good speakers for listening to music, but not good riding to talk on the phone or intercom, like the paid reviews say battery life good,

These things are useless. Never used such a frustrating device....who the heck knows what button does what!!? The Engineer and design team need to be fired.

Ours are only a couple years old. They worked good the first year. My two grandkids use them on their dirtbikes. Now, my granddaughter can hear my grandson, but my grandson can't hear her. Frustrating.
