Don't forget what the priest said. These women knew exactly the type of men they were getting involved with. They wanted to live that life style. Well that lifestyle comes with some prices.
Damn...I have watched Sopranos full series multiple times and I have never thought the Godfather VHS tape not working as a foreshadowing to Tony, Paulie not feeling at home in Italy...all the fantasy illusion of Italy for them didn't work.
I think you missed that the “other individual” is a fed. He was introduced last episode and was talking to Puss in the car about being with the government since 98.
Italy has ancient monuments, stunning vistas, and a culture going back millennia. The US has the George Washington Bridge and the Major Deegan Expressway. And Elvis impersonators. And the post-industrial wasteland between Newark Airport and the Meadowlands.
On the point about the goomars and the affairs: I draw your attention to a conversation in season 1 that Carm had with Father Phil. He reminded her how she'd considered his affairs as 'lightening' the work for her, and she said she viewed it as a 'form of masturbation'. So yes, she knows, and shes made a whole narrative to be ok with it
Off topic, but I've got a recommendation for you. If you haven't seen much of their play before, you should checkout both Magic Johnson and Larry Bird's ultimate mix tapes. A lot of younger fans "know" they were good in an abstract kinda way but are surprised when they see it first hand. It's always fun to see someone who loves the game introduced to the old greats.
45:20 I'm glad you picked this up. It's pretty clear how much this episode painted Carmela as a hyporicte in regards to marriage and relationships. 38:00 "It is an ironic edit: just after we see Tony make his advances, we see Carmela try hard to save her friend’s marriage because she has conflated it to her own marriage. The juxtaposition of the two scenes also underscores the differences between Annalisa and Carmela. Annalisa Zucca is a Mob Wife who has been able to achieve autonomy and fullness as a woman; she is a loving mother, responsible daughter, powerful mob Boss, respected leader and beautiful seductress. Carmela, on the other hand, has allowed herself to become hemmed in by the restraints that American Mafia culture has put on her. Parvati is fairly accurate in her description of how women get reduced to a simple binary in the Mafia mind, and how American Mob Wives are content to live diminished lives: “Madonna-Whore is the full equation, I believe…clothes and appliances and houses…”" (sopranos autopsy) Also, when Tony tells the guys that his favorite Godfather scene is when Vito goes back to Italy, it's a call back to when Carmela told this about Tony to Father Phil in the Pilot episode.
You are the first reactor I have seen who asks about the state of the mob family with Tony away. Very good question. But you are probably right that Silvio is keeping things under control at home.
Hey Elie! I've watched your BB and BCS reactions. I had first watched BB during its initial run (I'm not old, just stumbled across it), and The Sopranos right after James Gandolfini's death. It's truly one of a kind masterpiece. I've watched The Sopranos every year since then. I'm a screenwriter and The Sopranos (along with BB) is what got me into screenwriting in the first place (apart from a bunch of movies). I was wondering if you've ever watched Lost? I have been rewatching Lost, and it's a great show. Maybe you can check that out after you've fully experienced The Sopranos.
Pauli gets rebuffed every time he tries to connect with Italians. The guys romanticize Italy, but the real Italians don't give a sh** about Italian Americans. The guy on the street yells "You cut our ski lift cable." In 1998 a low-flying US military aircraft sliced through the cable of a ski lift at an Italian ski resort, killing 20 and enraging the whole country. In the cafe, Paulie gets the cold shoulder when he calls out "Commendatori" to the next table. As pointed out below, the guy in black is David Chase, the creator of the series (and the guy shattering the mob's romanticized view of Italy).
The mafia wives seem to take an "out of sight, out of mind" perspective on life when it comes to their husbands. They know it happens, they just prefer not to acknowledge it and live in ignorance, as long as they're not reminded of it.
Lets go man! Appreciate you being obsessed with this. Anytime i'm bored and go to YT there you are with a new one 💪
Hey man appreciate it

Yea i know now hahahaahaa big chin guy
Many reactors miss that to be fair. Skip doesn't look or talk like a typical fed.
You’ll get the subscribers and views in time. There’s a ton of people who enjoy good Soprano reactions.
31:04 the guy in the black shirt and the coffee cup who turns around to paulie is actually David Chase, the shows creator
Angie did stay for the kids. And now they are adults. She did her time.
watching these reactions is making me wanna rewatch the show again 🔥 so good

31:03 That's David Chase, the creator of the show.
I think Meadows friend is David Chases daughter too
Great reactions dude keep it going!

That’s exactly how mobsters live their personal lives. Their spouse is more about trust then love.

They guy who played Jimmy Bones, Mike Memphis (Michael Anthony LePore), is a real life Elvis impersonator.
The guys in Naples are in the Camorra. The Camorra an organised crime group similar to the Sicilian Mafia based in Campania.
