You can see Ricciardo really was comfortable behind the wheel of that AlphaTauri. He was able to break late and carry so much speed into a corner and catch the car on exit!
Perez is driving too conservative now compared to how he was at the start of the season... All those failures plus the nature of Red Bull team really crushed him
even in the sim in Oracle RB channel the engineer said to Perez "stay close to the right side" and as far as I remember I've seen most of the drivers doing that, almost everyone but this guy...
It worked here cuz it's the last corner and he doesn't need to worry about the marbles since next lap is a cool down lap anyways. James Baldwin has done this irl and he said it's slower cuz next corner will have less grip
@@therealf.b.i9468That's what I was going to say, he doesn't need to make a good exit to reach a high level of performance on the straight because the next lap wouldn't be important, so there's no reason to finish the other way Perez did.
I really appreciate the commentary at the start of the video. Those of us fairly new to F1 can begin to understand why a given driver has a certain advantage. Thank you for the great videos.
Last corner differentiate top driver and good driver~ Ricciardo knows how to take different racing line in qualify and race to maximize the performance~ well done~~~
if only there was another car on the grid that is balanced but more slippery than the AT that exhibits a strong front end and rewards a driver who can manage rear end instability.....
Could you do a comparison between Lando and Ricciardo while they were both in McLaren? I still don't understand why Ricciardo was so much slower so often.
ricciardo took the shortest route to the line, perez took the racing line. ricciardo's next lap would have been horrendous in a race scenario with that line, but this is quali. smart man.
I think it shows here how perez really wants to underdrive the car. I feel like ricciardo is actually getting tighter lines through the corners at the same speed. Perez isn't using the downforce of the redbull to his advantage. He would probably do relatively better at Williams or something, he just can't adjust his driving style to the car or the car doesn't suit his driving style.

in a car which he had much less running in perez which makes this all the more crazy
@@VictorArets well perez isnt in form. he's trolling us rn

Now we know that the trajectory that Ricciardo took was the best during the last corner
it was due to late breaking that allowed him to carry more speed through the exit
@@njokic2176 Yep, but i think all drivers who's choose this during made a late break

What a bizarre thing! Daniel just took the shortest run in the last corner and qualified better, I'm going to adopt that in EA's F1.
it’s literally called the esport line

@@matheusdasilva1 It actually depends on how far the finish line is from the last corner.
I do the same ingame, and even f1 drivers do the same for example in Monza, and others also did it in Mexico

King of late braking is back!
word by word what i thought

I think of Danny had the statute line speed of the redbull he’d have put it on pole easily
Finally, f*cking finally, the old Badger has begun hunting again.
Now even more excited about Brazil as it is more about balancing the car more
I wouldn't believe if I saw it a month ago. The last corner that passed a little shortly can outqualify a major team's car.

Danny be like "Did you miss me RB?"
Good video

bc the car didnt suit him
he couldnt carry much speed mid-corner which he love to do
Man! Just beat him by compromising his next lap (in lap) and going the shorter path.
How they renewed checos contract still surprises me
O Daniel Riccardo é muito mais piloto do que o Perez
The guy DESTROYED him on the breaks!
Danny Ric style is all about mid corner pace.

The music ic cool man
Last of the late brakers danny Ric.❤
a bit weird the speed of riccardo in the stadium section?
I seriously want all current drivers to race in bone equal machinery. Im sure results will be shocking.
Then we need a Grid Autosport Season event with in between races with equal cars in the season.
Looks like checo can’t manage the straight line speed into corners well
I started to believe that Danny is a great driver and last season in McLaren is not his fault.
Perez doesn't deserve that RB seat.
I saw it but I didn't believe it.
I am starting to feel like RBs statement about not firing Checo might be hogwash after watchinng this.
Looks like Perez doesn't have confidence in the car through the corners.
Perez isnt good enough for RBR. Consistency is missing
hes consistently underperforming
imagine danny ric has the same straight line speed and acceleration, he'll problbly in pole.
give danny the rb19 and he would qualify on pole
This happened again.
Perez drive at RB = toast.
burnt toast with no jam on it i would say

bye bye preze
that was perez's best qualifying result in a while, he didnt get the best exit out of the last corner but it was still close to verstappen's time
Checo needs to retire
what is this grammar
Perez is done
Perez is a joke
