    Omg this is my second day taking this. I actually didn't expect anything. What I have gotten is EXTREME FOCUS and sleep... My mind is so active I can never relax and sleep on average 4 hrs a night which is not good sleep. I took Gabapentin for sleep a few nights and the next day I felt mentally slow. I will never take that drug again.
    When I say phosphatidylserine has made a dramatic impact. It's like if u had 8 shots. U know u aren't drunk because it's in your mind, u are drunk because you have no other reaction choice. Well the focus in this supplement is shocking. I know to reach optimal or maximal focus from this phosphatidylserine it may take weeks. I am excited to see how this goes. And the sleep is crazy, we are talking complete calmness. My mind isn't racing.
    Anyways. This is absolutely amazing. Thanks doc.

I’m also eating Keto and have lost 115lbs. I had a recent ultrasound performed and now my liver disease is a “Mild Fatty Liver”. Hi there, I really need your help! I'm 25, male, workout strenuously 6 days a week. I feel my brain is shutting down, I've tried L theanine, ashwaghanda, sulforaphane, PQQ with coq10. They don't work. I've also tried Lions mane, and yes it did work and I felt good at 1000mg , but my asthma flared up slightly, and also I heard if you come off it, the good effects go away. I want something stable and robust. I feel i get stressed easy, energy feels low even after eating, can't concentrate properly, memory is quite poor, brain just feels inflamed and burnt out.
    My question is: I've done tonnes of research and these two keep popping up:
    Phosphatidylserine and CDP-Choline.
    Which one would be more effective? I know both would be good but I want to keep it simple and just use as little supplementation as possible.
    Thank you!

    • @NootropicsExpert
      @NootropicsExpert  4 роки тому +7

      Sean, you have your first clue on what's wrong. If Lion's Mane worked for you it may be because you are low in brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) or nerve growth factor (NGF). That is Lion's Mane claim to fame in the nootropic world. It's one of the best ways to boost BDNF and NGF.
      Please see my post that includes 13 nootropics to boost BDNF:
      nootropicsexpert.com/13-nootropics-to-boost-bdnf/
      Phosphatidylserine (PS) is considered by some to be the best nootropic available. And it's worth trying. See my video on PS on this channel. It helps Nerve Growth Factor and works even better when stacked with a DHA supplement.
      CDP-Choline is used to increase acetylcholine in your brain. It'll only be beneficial if you are low in acetylcholine. And the only way to find out is try it and see if you feel better. If not, then you know you're not low in acetylcholine.

    • @NootropicsExpert
      @NootropicsExpert  2 роки тому +2

      PS is extracted from lecithin. And it works with DHA and PC to keep brain cell membranes healthy. You brain raids brain cells membranes for choline if you do not have enough available to produce acetylcholine. Which is why it's a good idea to be using Alpha GPC or CDP-Choline. So your brain does not canibalize itself.

    I think that larger studies only found small benefits for Phosphatidylserine (PS) related to memory. The effects might go away if you take it for a longer period. Note also that PS from soy is different than PS from bovine. Most studies were done with bovine PS. Further, there are few recent clinical studies, so it seems that researchers have lost their interest in PS. However, maybe it helps a bit.

      what do you think of a psych. doctor who wants to give you between 10 to 30 infusions into your vein in your arm of the other phosphatidyl ......isn't that dangerous??? once a week he has some nurse come in and do an inter veinous(spelling) of this amino acid.....he claims it will help me come off a benzo (klonopin)......I think this is a dangerous fad and then he says,"oh, you can take the phosphatidyl serine in tablet form.....how many mgs in tablet form for lowering of cortisol and which company would make the best tablet.

      @@dianelindenberger6941 Diane, some use PS infusions as an anti-aging protocol. It's not dangerous. If taken as a supplement it's 100 mg 3-times per day. And look for one that uses Sharp PS Green like this one: amzn.to/3bUb3FC

      Negative. Phosphatidylserine (PS) and Serine are two different compounds. One is a phospholipid and the other an amino acid.

      @@nazigol289 You are not likely using enough Tyrosine. The normal recommended dose if 500 mg 2 or 3-times per day.
      And 5-HTP is not a great idea anyway. Why are you using it? If it's for sleep a far better choice is 500 mg L-Tryptophan.

      Irwan, exactly the opposite. Dementia is associated with a deficiency in DHA (Omega-3) and Phosphatidylserine.

      Phosphatidylserine is fat-soluble so needs to be taken with a healthy fat for your system to absorb and use it. Otherwise, it will be excreted out of your system unused.
