When I was in high school the biggest bikes were Honda 305s and a Yamaha 250 (mine). Then this guy showed up with a brand-new blue 1968 BSA 650 Thunderbolt (single carb). OMG, I was drooling all over myself. Gorgeous...and that sound!
Here in North Texas you NEVER see any BSA bikes, only the occasional Triumph with lots of New Triumphs and the occasional Norton. I haven’t seen a BSA since the 70’s. Rare beasts indeed!
This is the exact one, the magic bullet that hooked my passion when I was a very young lad and I never forgot how it made me feel at that moment. Since then I have owned and ridden many, many motorcycles...wish I would have kept them all, they were all keepers and now I’m down to owning three...limited room in the garage. Ps. never did have the chance to own a magic bullet.

Very interesting to see the workings of the BSA, never had the pleasure myself.

Yes it is. Happy New year to ya.
It's nice that you can pull the gearbox out without removing the engine from the frame or having to split the engine itself.
Yes, it was a pretty easy job Geoff. Best wishes, Mike
